I found a way to handle this (only have tried this with the Metro PCS version SM-G360T1 but this should work with all versions and hopefully other new samsung phones with out direct OTG support as well.), it's been used via other Samsung phones but I have yet to find a post yet that speaks about this on the galaxy core prime (or anything other than the bigger phones like galaxy s6 and the like)
What you would need is to install Samsung's SideSync app on your computer (this is assuming you have a PC with windows.)
have a micro usb cable available (as I would expect most to have.)
along with the apk file to get you to the settings via the otg method.
(I can't post the link since i'm a new user which is great just add https:// to the following "mega.nz/#!ixQxUQII!6lMPLUFlMU3NPxq0tOUpvQ_hOokETC9kFLdPAqS0hk8" with no spaces in between. not sure if this is an internal issue but there should not be a space between S and 0.)
1st start up SideSync to make sure its running.
.
when on the screen where it asks for your google account information on your phone (or as soon as you've gotten a data/wifi connection)
plug in your micro usb cable, in a few seconds you should see a "Open With" option appear on your phone with 3 options (Galaxy Apps, Chrome & Browser).
Now at this point you should also have access to the phones storage via your computer, in which at this point I would say to copy the apk file to wherever you feel comfortable.
From this point you can select "Galaxy Apps" which is basically a Samsung alternative to the Play Store.
from here, you can install an app in order to get to the storage files (es file explorer is one i quickly found.)
You will have to have a Samsung user account but you can create one on the spot if needed (will ask you to login or create an account) so as long as you have a working email this will be easy.
once you've logged in you can search and download and open the storage app, go to the area you placed the APK file, load it up, allow unknown sources, install, open to be redirected to Settings, do a factory data reset and BOOM!
you should be golden.
Hopefully this info stops the assholes who figured this out prior from trying to charge folks to do this, I literally just figured this out myself and stopped from losing a bit of money on this phone.

[Guide Ver. 2] Bypassing FRP Protection from Samsung Galaxy Core
Thank You EmperorofShambala! Worked on my Galaxy Core Prime although I took additional detours which others may find helpful as well.
Before this process I was lucky to have had this MetroPCS phone eligible for unlock so I unlocked it thru the Device Unlock App, hard reset it, but then ran into that google verification. I followed EmperorofShambala's directions but ran into a roadblock with SideSync. (I'm on a Mac) When I got to the part where I could download it on the phone, Galaxy Apps said SideSync did not exist in the store.
Here are the steps I followed (in Emperor's fashion but with additions that got it to work for me):
What you would need is to install Samsung's SideSync app on your computer, *also the free version of Airdroid.
have a micro usb cable available (as I would expect most to have.)
along with the apk file to get you to the settings via the otg method.
(I can't post the link since i'm a new user which is great just add https:// to the following "mega.nz/#!ixQxUQII!6lMPLUFlMU3NPxq0tOUpvQ_hOokETC9kFLdPAqS 0hk8" with no spaces in between. not sure if this is an internal issue but there should not be a space between S and 0.)
1st start up SideSync to make sure its running, *also run and register/create account on Airdroid. Go to file transfer section and have the downloaded apk handy wherever on your computer.
when on the screen where it asks for your google account information on your phone (or as soon as you've gotten a data/wifi connection)
plug in your micro usb cable, in a few seconds you should see a "Open With" option appear on your phone with 3 options (Galaxy Apps, Chrome & Browser). (* I used Airdroid for the actual file transfer, but only SideSync was able to bring up the "Open With" option on the phone while it ran on my computer)
From this point you can select "Galaxy Apps" which is basically a Samsung alternative to the Play Store.
from here, you can install an app in order to get to the storage files, *I used Airdroid
You will have to have a Samsung user account but you can create one on the spot if needed (will ask you to login or create an account) so as long as you have a working email this will be easy.
*Once you have Airdroid installed on the phone, from Galaxy Apps you can open it. Login with Airdroid account, go to file transfer. On your computer, drag and drop the apk into the file transfer and it should appear on your phone. Tap it, then it goes into install...
... allow unknown sources, install, open to be redirected to Settings, do a factory data reset and BOOM!
you should be golden.
Now I'm using my T-Mobile service on it, although some MetroPCS apps and stuff are left over.
Works superb. awesome
It worked!!
Thank you for this tutorial! My girl got the FRP Lock when attempting to root her sm-g360t1 and now it's fully functional again. Excellent work!
Dude omg! Your so awesome for creating this!
YOU SHOULD MAKE video for noobs like me! Haha
Btw: Do we really have to use the explore instead of the web and use "rootjunky" website to download the apk and install it, dont you think this would be better and faster result?

Can you post a screen shot and mention exactly what you did? I'm not sure i know what you mean.
Nice Job.
Thank Samsung and Google for teaming up to make an inconvience like this. Have to take the Sandisk OTG back, but was gonna anyway since they will no longer support encryption.

Samsung is fine. All you have to do is go to the "sammobile" website, download the firmware for your device and flash it in the "AP" slot in Odin. This does a true factory reset on the device and resets the FRP. I've helped many people overcome this problem this way and not only is it the easiest method, but, in my opinion, it's the only real way to do it. If sammobile doesn't have your firmware for some reason though then I would try this or whatever you can find that works.

I've always been kinda lost with this. So do I download a firmware that has otg support? Is there a certain name I should be looking for?

You don't need OTG. You're just connecting your phone to your computer in "Download Mode". You just search your model number in the firmware section and you'll find the rest of the instructions(as well as the link to download Odin) at the bottom of the download page for your firmware.

Start with this for drivers:

And look through this if you have problems:

Oh, and as far as I know there's no "iTunes" for Android so try this:

thx!!! it helped a lot. Was more complicated than what i thought. Wasnt just download the driver but go to some options on my cell phone, pick usb mass storage the mount option n stuff like that but finally worked! xD
I might come up with some more questions tho.. till then!
i've heard a lot of people talk about double twist.
http://www.doubletwist.com/dt/Home/Index.dt
Id defineatly recommend double twist. Its really easy to use and I love that I can drag and drop videos into it and it will automatically convert it to the correct file type no matter what phone im using.
Also syncing play lists is really easy

Samsung has an app called Kies. For some reason it's hidden from the US however I was assured that downloading it from here: http://www.samsung.com/ae/consumer/...XSG/index.idx?pagetype=prd_detail&tab=support
Will work just the same.

I downloaded kies as u said but its not working with my captivate for some reason. Says "Reconnect the device on Samsung Kies(PC Studio) mode. Kies doesn't support this connect mode"
Don't mess with kies, just use drag and drop for simplicity.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
Drag and drop is always easy, but Kies isn't bad for media management (also enables tethering if you select it under Settings->Applications->USB Settings) - you can find it here: http://www.all-samsungphones.com/samsung-wave-s8500-software-kiespc-sync-download.html/
I use Double Twist for my mac (just make sure for windows you have the drivers, you have the USB debugging active, and then you mount the drive) but i loved it. it transfered very easily. I was actually able to port over my itunes play lists and copy my old iphone playlist to my phone.
Ok, so i got my captivate and doubletwist on my mac and for the life of me my playlists in itunes will not show up on the phone. Only the songs show up is there a way to get the playlists in itunes to show up on the phone?
the playlists are in my phone. it is an m3u file, right?
other than that, i have no clue. I really don't have a use for play lists, I only put what songs I want in my playlist and sync it.
yes they are set as m3u and ive placed them in several locations on the phones memory but they will not show up on the phone its self only way i can get a playlist on there is to create one from the phone and thats kinda lame
Hi again guys!
Ever since the ATT update usb connecting to the phone in ubuntu is sporadic and unreliable. I can usually get my photos off of it. Sometime I can even get into a non-root basic filesystem as well
However this isn't my main problem. I want to root the phone and install custom ROM's etc... Tried the VMware and a version of windows and installed the samsung drivers to XP but have trouble (again) with the usb and VMware.
Any help would be appreciated.
Additionally I'm pretty pissed off about the update thing. I don't care about tethering per se but that underhanded **** is why I dumped microsoft in the first place. I'll dump ATT too and spend my money elsewhere.

Linux user here. I haven't had the problems you describe. I have lately been using ES File Explorer to copy to and from a shared folder on my desktop. avoiding the USB for file transfers all together. when I do connect via USB I usually use ' adb push' and 'adb pull' to move files around.
To Root your phone there is an 'update.zip' method that I used (no computer needed)
There is also a tool called ClockworkMod Recovery that you can use to install custom rom's and create nandroid backups. (no computer needed)
And finally if you manage to screw up and can not boot, you can use Heimdall on linux like you would use Odin on Windows.
enjoy your phone...
-p
Thank-you so much!!!
I was thinking about exactly what you wrote. Why not do it the linux way? Admittedly my skills are weak.
Had a little trouble with the update.zip but went to the wiki (again) and the info on how to do it from the phone was there. BTW the wiki has improved since last week.
Rooted phone and installed Titanium Backup and Clockwork Recovery. In my excitement I deleted all the ATT bloatware before backing them up and the ROM. Oh well... Too bad.
Now I just feel great about my phone. Needs some customization but no hurry. Only thing was that TB prompted me to go to settings/applications/ and tick "unknown sources". Doesn't exist.
Thanks again! If you have anymore nuggets of info...?
linux newb here but i try
edit:
the phone can mount to a vm in dowload mode for use with odin or in kies mtp mode as long as debugging is off, otherwise it likes to mount to the host pc as a drive, i dont know a work around but you can make the phone a shared folder with the vm client so you can see the files in the vm, it'll be seen as a network location in that case.
it can mount as a drive in linux but you need to select to mount from the phone. i was having problems with it in eclair in windows and didnt try it in linux but froyo is working great. in eclair it may help to try with debugging on then you can mount from the notification bar.

To enable side loading(unknown sources). I used method 5 from this post.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=738376
and here is a link to my comments on the method later in the thread regarding some punctuation corrections.
This method uses adb from the SDK to pull the settings.db file off and edit it using sqlite3 before pushing it back on.
I believe you can edit the file directly on your phone once you have root and install a terminal app from the marketplace.
The above forum post is also in the wiki you referenced previously. basically you want to look for methods to "enable side loading"
-p
I'm using Ubuntu and have had no problems. Rooted and removed market restrictions without a hitch.

Oh I've tried it all-wichaways! That hasn't worked either. The card(s) are seen but no longer mount like they used to. When I choose media player I get this message on the phone: PC connection only available in idle screen. Close all running applications. I think something may be corrupted on the phone.
Before I start flashing anything I'm going to give 10.10 a go. Ubuntu specifies that 10.10 plays nice with Android. Unfortunately, I'm having trouble with my startup disks and have wasted three of them on three different downloads. Won't fully boot. Unfortunately, I've had this experience before with other releases, and it almost always was something being wrong with the .iso that was downloaded. Even tried a usb startup and same experience.
Woes. PITA!

Make sure you burn your disks at a slow speed. Like 4x. Also try downloading over a stable wired connection. Use the md5 tool to check your download and your burn. If you can figure out when it is getting corrupt you have a fighting chance.
Reporting back. Finally got 10.10 to boot from a usb flashdrive by disabling the BootParameters. I guess 10.10 is so cutting edge my 2.5 yo toshiba can't boot it easily.
Reinstalled 10.04 without a hitch and since I didn't format my /home still kept everything. But I tried connecting by usb before any updates. No worky. And not after the 256M of updates either.
It's the phone I'm sure. Not really keen on flashing the ROM yet just to fix this. Recollection is that Samsung didn't put a good effort into this part of the phone. But I think again..
Why not eschew the usb for file transfers? I've got Bluetooth and wifi right here. Who needs clunky old usb? Adhoc network?
Ideas? Wifi would be easiest since my laptop doesn't have Bluetooth.

I think I mentioned in an earlier post that I use an app called ES File Explorer (free in the market) to navagate to a shared folder on my desktop.
My (samba) shared folder has no restrictions and works well. Only issue is I have to fix ownership and permissions on things copied over to the computer from the phone. If you choose to password protect yours let me know how that works out for you.

It supports FTP for sure. I'm no security expert but I doubt its a good idea to share a samba share over the internet.
If you want remote access to you desktop there are secure methods for that. The method I would choose would depend on my desire/need for a remote connection.
If I just want to access my shared folder I would probably set up a VPN connection and then use ES FileExplorer.
To fully control the computer, use VNC or other "remote desktop" application.
Been reading up on Samba. It is the linux way lol. Also, I went and got a Bluetooth micro-adapter. Installed drivers from the repository.
Transferred some pics and music back and forth. All GUI based. Worked first time. I'm still this side of the learning curve but my base needs are met.
The Bluetooth works great but I'd like to learn a bit more about the wifi. Seems to me one should be able to move files with a VPN via the wireless adapters and no router. I just lack the knowledge and skill to do it.
But thanks for reminding me about the ES FileExplorer! As far as the permissions in Ubuntu for the shared folder I just checked the box under right-click- sharing options allow others to create and delete files from this folder. I think that works.
I have read through a number of these How-To's online and had struggled through most of them with little success. My struggles were due to my slow internet, among other things, and the lack of reliability and up-to-dateness of these methods. I will present a thorough method for accessing the full potential of Play Music outside of the USA, and am confident that this will have positive results for those of you who have had no success with alternative methods.
1. Currently, you can download Play Music from the Play Store onto your device. If you haven't already done this, go ahead and do it now.
2. Go to tunnelbear.com and download it for your applicable operating system. Install it onto your computer. At some point, you will have to sign up. Do this. It will be worth the hassle. Use a real email as you will have verify your information.
3. Run the installed program on your computer. Once you verify your email, you can sign in. The program will want to install another internet connection. Let it. When the program is open there will be a window with two knobs. Ensure the one on the right is switched to US and then switch the one on the left to ON.
4. TunnelBear will configure and start doing its thing. Once it is connected, come back to this browser and open a new tab (or whatever you want). Then, type in music.google.com into the address bar and go to the site. Sign in using your Google account. Then, it will bring you to the Play Music page.
5. A window should pop up in front of the page asking you to Accept certain conditions. If not, maybe clicking on the Upload Music on the upper right of the page should do the trick. Continue to follow the instructions, accepting the conditions and 'buying' the app. After the first two steps of this process, using other methods, a circular blue loading ring would come on the screen and nothing would follow. By using this method, the loading ring will appear for a short time, and then a new window will pop up asking you to purchase the application.
6. Continue following the steps until you come to the step that requires an American Credit Card. I already have my (Canadian) credit card on file. When I went to select it from the list, it stated that it could not be used, so click to add a new payment method / credit card.
7. Simply enter the same credit card information (or the accurate information for any credit card you have). For the country, leave it as United States. Enter your full name (the name on the card). For the Post Code, find any legitimate American zip code online and punch it in. Click to accept and it should go through. Since it is not actually charging the card, it shouldn't really make a difference.
8. Then you will eventually be prompted to install the musicmanager.exe, which should be installed onto your computer. Following through the installation steps, you will be asked which file it will take music from to upload. I started with a new folder that I put a small amount of songs into, since my internet is quite poor and the upload speeds are minimal.
9. Now, grab your device. Ensure that the Play Music app is installed, but not running in the background. Go to
Settings > (Device) Apps > (Downloaded) Google Play Music. Click Force Stop and then Clear Data.
10. Close this. Make sure some music has been uploaded via the Music Manager. Then, go to
Settings > (Accounts) Google. Click on the account associated with your music manager (the one you used to sign in) and sync the account. Once it is fully synced, open your Play Music app and the uploaded songs should start compiling into the app!
I did this last night with success. My struggles with other methods leads me to believe that I am not the only one. That is why I made this.
Hopefully this works for you! I may have missed something or used the wrong wording in some parts, but the idea is the same and I'm sure you will manage.

Sorry for digging up this old topic, but you sir is now my master. Worked flawlessly for me. (I'm from Brazil.)

I have tried it with tunnelbear, private internet access, express vpn and hola. It doesn't work. I don't get past the first stage. I get the message The Google Play music player is currently available in select territories. This message I get even if the VPN is not activated. I have already updated a US address as billing and delivery in my wallet account. Apart from that a US card is also updated.

Same here, "The Google Play music player is currently available in select territories"
I've seen countless threads on these 2 errors, but I just found something intriguing on my android device.
This one is a Measy U1A android stick (the ones that you connect to your TV via HDMI). A truly nice piece of hardware, but it seems to have some issues.
Since day 1 I can't install apps most of the time. Yes, *most* of the time. 80% I get the "Invalid Package file" error, another 10% of the time I get a "Package was not signed correctly", but curiously enough, a 10% of the time the packages go through and install correctly.
Of course, this gets on my nerves.
Now, I'd really want to know what's going on and I'd love some help from the true Android experts.
This is what I've already done:
Got a Log Viewer to see what was going on.
At first it said that was an error downloading (more on this later)
Then other times it said that there was no signature for X or Y file INSIDE the apk file (I remember some libraries, I was trying to install netflix on my tests)
So, I tried to tackle the download error by checking the space (df), I found that /data had few space remaining, so I cleared stuff from it. Now I have 308Mb free, more than enough to download Netflix (14Mb download). I'm talking about /data since I found out that the downloadfile-x.apk files get downloaded to /data/data/com.android.providers/downloads/cache
Tried again, nothing. Ok, so I thought that maybe there was some weird error in the /data partition. I created a directory on the sdcard portion of the stick and linked it (ln -s). Same issues. I created a directory on my external sd card and liked to it, and the same.
Now, for the weird part, and this is where I'd love some insight:
Out of 5 downloads, ES File Explorer got installed correctly, and I got a bunch of EQUALLY SIZED downloadfile-x.apk files on that directory, but NONE OF THEM HAS THE SAME MD5 SUM. Weird? Yep, but that could only mean 3 things: Either there's a problem with my wifi/network stack, or the /data, /sdcard, /mnt/extsd partitions ALL have errors in them. The 3rd option is that Perhaps Google signs every download with a different salt and that's the reason they are all different. But I DON'T THINK THE 3rd OPTION IS LOGICAL OR PRACTICAL.
Now, I don't have access to recovery here... well, I haven't tried but there's no obvious option, perhaps CWM but I don't want to risk it too much since it ran Ubuntu for a while and now that won't boot (that's another topic, unable to debug it since I can't see anything on the screen until it boots).
I've already tried:
1. Deleting Play Cache and Data, rebooting
2. Deleting Play and installing it again (it took several tries because of the same issue)
3. Factory Default and logging to my google account again
4. FIRMWARE UPGRADE (yes, I found a new firmware, it seems faster and more stable, but I still have that issue).
Now, I haven't found a memory checker or a "nand" (as you call it) checker on the app market, do these apps exist? I'd love to rule this out.
Thanks if anyone has another option, as I said, I'm out of them. The funny thing is that once the apps are installed THEY WORK FINE!!!!
Please help, I just can't spend 15 minutes to install each app that I want
I know my way around Linux, so don't be afraid to suggest crazy things :fingers-crossed:
*The only thing I still want to do is to be able to boot Linux again and perform some tests from there*
No one?

Mexico City here.
I found a firmware update, it makes the homepage icons bigger, changes the boot screen and overall feels faster. But I still have the same error.
As for the remote control, I found a vnc server that can be run on the dongle, and any vnc viewer can be used to control it.
I got a Rikkomagic III (not S, silly me), and let me say, that thing kicks the U1A over the window, performance is great but it has no bluetooth.
I'll keep trying to find a solution for my issue, as the Rikkomagic works fine.

tablets are connected to wireless.
tablets are allready rooted.
I'm trying to get wireless password from them, I want to go online from my device.
my plan was:
plug sd card with terminal apk in and install it.
then retrieve it from terminal. easy though.
however there is no file explorer so I can not install terminal apk .

If you can access mails, mail terminal apk to yourself and open & install in Tab. Isn't that simple enough ??
what are the pre installed apps you have in tablets ?
