Spigen Mobile Stand S310 - Nexus 6P Accessories

Hello,
just out of curiosity, is anyone else using this kind of Smartphone Stand ? I use one of these with my Nexus 6P and like it very much. I might add a few pictures later

I just ordered one for $15 on clearance. Don't hear much about it must be a low demand kind of thing. Gave up trying to find a decent fast charging dock.

Maybe, this is the sort of gadget you use in a office while you're at work. This stand can be very practical though for video telephony through Skype or video blogging.

Might be the S310 is just priced too high at $21.99/$29.99
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00YBA7BNY not as well made, but you can get that on amazon for $7 or $3 ebay-china
I'd prob use one of those mini desktop tripod mount if I do video blogging on a phone.

I have one on my nightstand and use it to hold my phone st night while this charging. It works well and doesn't budge once you put it down, but the 6P sits rather high on it

Motorola Equivalent for $10
I use something similar from Motorola and I love it. This one has arms that swing down so it sits about the same height as the one you linked, or with the arms out of the way it rests lower on the base. Has grippy rubber on both base and arms and small ridges to keep your phone in place.
Available on Amazon for $10 (for me) with Prime. I'm new, so can't post links, but google/amazon search for "Motorola Universal Flip Stand Mount for Smartphones". Couldn't recommend this thing more!

Here's the link.
http://www.amazon.com/Motorola-Universal-Stand-Mount-Smartphones/dp/B008QVQYS2
In the future, you can just copy the Amazon ASIN from the URL or from inside the listing and tell folks to search Amazon for that.
ASIN = B008QVQYS2
Nice looking, I may buy one or two of those...

I ordered the Phone Prop stand from Amazon and I love it. Made of silicone so it's soft but also rigid. Definitely helps when I'm at work. Now I don't need to pick up my phone. I can just tap the fingerprint scanner on the back and go.
http://www.amazon.com/PhoneProp-Uni...TF8&qid=1454433249&sr=8-1&keywords=phone+prop

For portability, I Ordered this one

These are nice stands too For portability I don´t need anything like this anymore since I use a Poetic Revolution case now which has a integrated kickstand

I have one and it works well. I use it with a cable creation 90° C-C cable which makes it easier for me.

Yeah i really like this stand and think it would look really good at work but for what it is, its too expensive

Yes! Sorry I can't post links yet but here's a pic of the phone in the stand taken with a potato:

While on the stand I unlock with my right hand index finger. I've found that my pinky and ring finger slide perfectly below the angled support bar with my middle finger right above it. This naturally guides my index finger right to the sensor. 10/10 will unlock again

[DIY] Nexus One car holder

Hi,
Here is my new DIY Nexus One car holder I just put together:
The base is from Garmin nüvi 200 series and the holder for phone is just plain hard shell I bought very cheap from eBay.
What do you think?

It looks great and slim also holds phone quite well.
Here are few photos in 'action' (sorry for the mess in my garage):
That looks really good. Much better than my "universal" POS that wobbles and rattles and occaisonally drops my phone:
http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/...uctId_381889_langId_-1_categoryId_165452#dtab
Can you link to the case you bought (or a similar one) please?
And where did you get the base? Was it a spare you had?

I'm new user and I am not permitted to post outside links.
For case just search for 'BLACK HYBRID HARD BACK CASE FOR HTC GOOGLE NEXUS ONE' on UK eBay.
For base search 'GARMIN NUVI WIDESCREEN MOUNT FOR 200, 200T, 200W & MORE' - you will get several results from Hong Kong - they are very cheap.
I've attached photo of this mount.
You just have to cut off two horns on Garmin cradle and stick it on case with some thin mirror bond sticky pads.
Hope this is not too confusing.
Not confusing at all. You've made the whole thing very clear, in fact!
Thank you for the info. I'll be making mine very soon!
WOW BRILLIANT IDEA. JUST ORDERED THE PARTS. Do you think it's better to use superglue instead of mirror adhesive?

Thanks. I'm glad you like it.
I think superglue will also works but I put mirror tape for future considerations - it will be easier to remove tape and change shell case when I change phone.

lol you're always one step ahead of me. Thanks for the idea
Haha I have the exact same holder and a very similar case and I was trying to come up with a way to make them work together. I hadn't considered getting another case and then modifying the garmin holder. I'll be doing this as well!
Rinegpeace, can you please give some comment about the quality of the back case? How thin is it? rubbery on the inside/outside? Would you feel comfortable using the phone with the case on all the time?
Thanks in advance!

For everyday use I would pick little harder case. This one is thin and it is very easy to pull phone in and out. This is preferable for car dock but for real case it is maybe too flexible.
After couple days of testing I feel very secure about holding my N1 while driving and even if you turn this dock upside down it will hold your phone in the cradle. So, maybe you will like it as everyday case.
Here is one short video of detaching and attaching my N1 in this car dock:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t6xsHC_RQXA
that's awesome, thanks mate!
You can also get the air vent mount for the nuvi instead of the suction mount. I kinda don't want it to stick to glass so this is nice.
what are those mirror adhesive pads? buy them at home depot?

You'd be better off finding them at an automotive store or maybe walmart if they are to repair a rear view mirror that fell off inside a car as I'm suspecting.
This has been featured in Lifehacker some weeks ago, with the same materials... the idea was from a OcUK user.
I've already made one myself for my HTC Legend and it looks great, it was cheap, and it's really sturdy.
Is it me or does the first photo in the original post look like it has a windows logo!?!
This is a great idea. I just finished it for my Touch Pro 2 with no problems. I hvae a slight difference though. I cut the very top off of the silicon case so that my tp2 can slid in and out with ease. Although there is plenty of friction to keep it in normally.
I just wanna say that after 2 days of using this in my car it is just working absolutely perfectly. The easy rotation is very convenient and it looks really good as well, being so form fitting to my phone.
Now that is cool.
I shall be getting the bits this week.

The Amazon KFHD case

"Great case, optimum design".
I was pretty skeptical about spending this much money on a case but I must admit having got the case, I am thoroughly delighted with it I love the way the Kindle Fire fits into the shell without any straps and how the case still preserves the slender form factor of KFHD
I would agree with others that the price really could be about $10 lower but Amazon probably has to make some money...
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008GGH4VI/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00
I agree, I like the case overall. The price is a bit high, but overall I think its not terribly overpriced. The only gripe I have after reading with it several times now is that the edge of the case can be a bit sharp. It will dig into your hand a bit after a while of holding it.
Definitely a quality case. I love the form factor. It maintains the slimness of the KFHD.

Lol !! Great case.. thanks for link..
magnetic screen shutdown too!
One thing not mentioned here (yet) is the magnetic screen cover. When you close the cover the screen automatically shuts off (like the iPad, except this cover is not flimsy and won't fall off!). This was a great surprise I found when i tried out this case --and that, plus the slim durable style convinced me that this is the best case for the Kindle Fire HD7" (and 8/9" for that matter!).
Agree with all the previous comments, after trying 3 previous cases, the Amazon on wins hands down.

I bought my wife the Amazon case that you guys have and you all are right it's nice.
Here's the case I have, and I love it. I honestly like it better than the Amazon case. The hand strap imo is a must have. The design on the exterior looks very classy and not at all cheap or cheesy. And yes, it has the on/off feature upon opening and closing the case.
But wait, how much does this mythical, almost too good to be true case cost, you say? It must be at least $99. Maybe if I catch it on sale I can get it for $78.92. Surely you jest. Maybe a second-hand pick, laden with crusty boogers for a cool $50?
Heck no.
Just check out the link below. Believe me, you CAN afford one (or 3).

0 By the Way, I also bought one of the solid colored cases of the same kind. The outside of that one did feel cheap, it is not the same material as the one that I linked to above. It still offers great protection and for what it costs is worth it, but the outside material doesn't feel as quality.
------------------------------------
If it was easy you'd of hired the guy at Home Depot to to it.
It's stylish and great for holding it, and doesn't seem to get dirty easily (oils from food, moisture wipe right off). However, it's not great for protection at all. I dropped my first KFHD from a one-foot distance off the ground, only to pick it up and find a hairline crack across the bottom right corner (potentially a weak spot)?
According to customer service, if it's only one crack and not a spider web, it's covered under the default warranty. They mailed me out a new one within 2 days. Kick ass customer service, I do say.
Thank your self you don't live in the UK!
It's £49 here!

You're talking about the Amazon cover right? That's the one I have now (but i am going to check out the other cover mentioned just above too) Since Christmas, I have dropped my new Kindle Fire HD 7 a couple of times. Only casual slips and nothing major. One from the table top height and one or two from the couch arm (lower height) onto a hard wood floor. So far I have had no damage --the top (fold over) cover now has a slight compression along about 1 inch of the edges, but I just rechecked the KF HD and I can't see any damage. I guess I am lucky!

Thanks, went to that link and It does look good & nice video! I like all of those different colors and a great price too! However, the video seems to demonstrate and show a sleep-wake functionality for the case, but the written ad's second bullet says "does not include the wake sleep feature." Not sure which one is accurate! Although, I really am getting spoiled by using the "flip on flip off" approach to the KF HD so the magnets are important to me
i have bought Amazon original case.. Its practical and seems excellent.

"Pull Tab" Leather Pouches

http://www.ebay.com/itm/PU-LEATHER-...lePhonesCasesPouches&var=&hash=item2576d5cc20
What do ya'll think?
Am I right to guess that there won't be many cases available for this phone?
I kinda like it, reminds me of those leather pouches that used to come with BlackBerry's. Picking up a black one probably.
Remember that the Nexus 4 is significantly larger than the iPhone 4 (which is the model phone they have used for the case) so the case may be too small for it. :/
iPhone 4:
115.2mm H
58.66mm W
9.3mm D
Nexus 4:
133.9mm H
68.7mm W
9.1mm D
However those cases look really good for the price. Hmmmm...
Looks like a nice case. I'll certainly consider this as one of my leading contenders for a day-to-day holster for my N4. Thanks for the link.
I ordered this one to protect the phone until I get a case for it, it fits the Galaxy S 3 so it should be able to fit the LG Nexus 4:

Thanks! Might order 1 in case I got tired of bumper case.
Id definately buy one of these but have smilar concerns as the poster above, nowhere on there does it give you the dimentions
If they're designed for and Iphone 5 then it isnt going to fit an N4
Stret
I will pick up a HTC sensation xl leather slip case. The dimensions look about right and should suffice until something better is released.
Looks like the One X cases would also work, think I will get this for now: http://goo.gl/iVzQ4
I did ask the seller if it would fit the Nexus 4. He/She said that the case would fit and is the XL case. So I guess the picture is just stock?
For £2.40 and free P&P, there's no point in not trying. If this fits, it will be perfect as I didn't want to get a case to hide the glass and holographic design.

So i just got my case , ordered it from ebay, was £2.99, think its gone up to £3.99 now, but its nice! I mean its plastic, and it takes away a bit from the niec glass feel, but it sure beats a cracked phone lol

Nice video review, thanks. I am really torn with whether to get a case or not. I really do love the look and feel of the phone without a case or bumper, but as you said it's nice to have some type of protection.
For me I think the clear case or a bumper would be the best options because you still want to be able to see that pretty back side. Thanks again.
Ordered the clear 1 myself still waiting on it coming though...
Wireless Charging?
The main thing holding me back from getting a case is that it seems like most of them would interfere with wireless charging. I'd love to see a review that includes testing with a Qi charger.
Ended up ordering a clear one even though my nexus is not here yet LL3

I have this same case (except the black one) and use the energizer QI charger and it works just fine through the case. After it's been charging for a while it has a little stuck feel to it just like when plastic gets warm. It's not melting or anything, but it has a feel like there was a small magnet holding it in play after it gets warm. Doesn't do that without the case.
I'm not a huge case fan and I would use the phone naked because I'm really careful with my stuff, but the phone slides from the glass back. Different surfaces at different speeds, but I have seen it fall off many things from watching it. I am going to try a back screen protector and see if that prevents it from sliding and just go with that if it does. That a side, this case feels really good for the price.

Wood cases for Nexus 6P???

Does any1 know any pure wood cases for the 6P.... I do know about toast but its technically not a case... And it's application is a bit tricky...
Thanks!
Cover-Up's #WoodBack is on the way...
Cover-Up are working on some wood / polycarbonate snap cases for the 6P as we speak! They're due to land at cover-up .com in a few weeks time. If you wanted to drop us an email we'd be happy to let you know when they're ready?

Sent a DM with my mail... Thanks for the heads up
Just out of curiosity, can you tell us where (regionally) your wood is sourced from? And are the cases made/assembled in the U.K.?
And finally, would the Snap case protect the rear camera visor of the phone?
Cheers!

No problem!
Our wood is sourced from all over the world, depending on the species. Some of our woods come from the US and Canada (for example our Walnut and Maple), whereas others come from Asia (Bamboo), South America (Mahogany and Purpleheart) Africa (Padauk and Black Limba) and Europe (Carpathian Elm Burl). The wood is transported to our small studio in South Wales, UK, where it's laser cut and hand-sanded before being combined with our TPU/polycarbonate snap cases.
Our cases for the Nexus 6P will be a variation of our standard #WoodBack case called the #WoodBack Explorer case. These cases are made with rubber-like edges for added grip and impact protection, and feature a raised bezel to protect the screen. Due to the "snap on" style of the case, it will offer some protection to the rear camera visor by very slightly raising the rear of the device from any surface when placed face up.
I hope that helps, any other questions please let me know

Glad to hear the case will be of the Explorer series! It would be really nice if the top and bottom of the phone were also protected by the rubber bumper. Consider my interest piqued, and I'm looking forward to product photos in the days (weeks?) to come

Yep, happy to confirm that the top and bottom of the phone will be protected by the Explorer case. I'll let you know as soon as the photos are available, hopefully later this month

That sounds interesting. Have you ever made one our of purple heart wood? I know it's a really hard wood thus making it hard to sand/cut

We actually do make one with purpleheart. Fortunately due to the small size of the finished piece of wood (and the benefits of using a laser for cutting!) we don't really notice any extra work with this in comparison to our other woods.

Unfortunately we can't engrave Nexus on the back of the case because we'd it's a trademarked logo and so we can't replicate it
The good news is cases will be available for pre-order in around a week's time, and ready to ship in 3 weeks time. I'm sorry that the wait has been longer than expected, but we wanted to make sure the cases were 100% right before they're listed for sale.

Will you guys be able to make wood case with inbuilt Qi receiving pad? I'm interested in getting 6P but the lack of wireless charging is holding me back

Such a case would require your USB C port to be occupied all the time. There hasn't been much interest according to another qi thread here, since our phones charge so quickly and last so long.
I do wish wireless charging was here though [emoji53]

Maybe they could make a male C plug and a female one on the case, with the qi receiver.. That would ensure that you can plug in the cable as well
