How do i root my gionee m5

Hello! brothers, help me out to root gionee m5 lollipop 5.1 MediaTek MT6735 i tried several rooter to root but not succeed. if you can help me out i will be very grateful thanks.

I've been looking for this myself for several days now.
I managed to get ADB to work fine on MtkDroidTools & SP Flash Tool (SPFT) using the Gionee_Driver_Install_v2.1.0.exe drivers.
I've also managed to manually get a mapping of the scatter regions (scatter file), dump a full image of the ROM (hopefully valid) using SPFT, but when I try to load it back in MDT and it starts unpacking it, it fails complaining about being unable to find the signature for the boot.img image. This is probably because my retailer (Allview) has their own flavor of the boot image which they didn't sign.
On top of that, they've also added a boot-recovery script called /system/recovery-from-boot.p which runs on boot and is (supposedly) meant to overwrite/restore any changes made to the recovery/boot partition.
This is as far as I've got. It's tricky. I'll need to look further into this...

download the kingo root app on your pc.
\- now enable usb debugging mode (settings >developer options >usb debugging) in your device and then connect your device to the pc
\- open kingo root and click root.
\- once finished click ok.
hurray you have rooted your device successfully!!!!!!!!!!

Kingo Root doesn't have an exploit, I have tried the above

I've also tried all the methods I could find on Google and none seem to work.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i don't know nothing about Mtk phones, but because i have this phone i started to learn. Also i saved OTA from allview who contain boot.img, maybe it will be helpfull

Apologies to criszz, I had to go into developer settings and tick 'Enable OEM Unlock' then boot into fastboot and do as he suggested. And success, but without a working custom rom i'm not sure what use it is

You can make and flash custom recovery
After that you can make an fresh backup and put it here.

So i was thinking that we dont have any thread to this device so i made this.
Can someone help me to unlock bootloader to this beatiful device. i cant get it open.
when im trying to unlock it with the code(adb or flashtool) it gives me error saying "command not allowed" i have tried many times and re installing the drivers and tried different os and nothing helps.

Solved the command not allowed proplem . just go in your phone top the developer settings and enable the oem thing. and make sure that usb debugging is on. thats it! hope it helps you out

aint gonna happen. none of the tools doesnt support mtk 6735 with android 6.0. so we should have rooted phone to get recovery.img so i think that our only hope is to wait that kingroot or something will work on our device

You don't need to wait for the Kingroot as it is not possible to root locked bootloader with drm-verify enabled.
What You need is to create recovery.img to flash on /recovery partition (it should exist, as Sony started to adding them before E5).
There are autotools for MTK devices (they create recovery for specific SoC/CPU not model), but I'm not sure if it is safe to flash on Sony firmware as it is different than generic firmware used on standard (Chinese) devices.
Than using it should be possible to root it by flashing SuperSU zip.

The proplem is that cant get the recovery.img out from anywhere :/

So there's still no way to root this phone ? I really need to install Viper4Android on it ^^

I've been trying to make a working cwm or twrp recovery, but I need to extract the stock recovery.img to do so.
And that requires root.

I didn't find time to try this exploit but the thing I should do is just install the package dirty cow for android (released on github) and after use the "run-as" command for install super su...
I'm not certain that can work but it should if Sony didn't correct this fault, else I will always can recover via FlashTool to a factory version.

Can you check if it works?
I just need a confirmation that you got your phone rooted safely with that fault, then I'll start working on twrp and hopefully we'll have our first rom on this device soon.
But since I recently bought this phone and I can't get my pc to work (for flashtool, in case anything goes wrong), I need someone to test if the dirty cow fault still works on our devices.

I've managed to set up fastboot and finding alternative drivers to work on our device.
Finally, I can now use adb with full fastboot access.
I've also managed to unlock my bootloader, so now I will have to find a recovery that will work on our mediatek 6735 chipset, build based on API 23 (marshmallow).
If necessary, I can try to port cwm from some different device.
When we have a working recovery, we can most likely flash anything, so I might make a prerooted version of the stock firmware.
Expect the first development for this device any soon.
Edit1: Due to health reasons, I might have to delay this for a week, my appologies.

I'm sorry I don't have the time to exploit the Dirty Cow fault (lot of Home Work) and I don't have the knowledges that I need :/

How to do ROOT Zenfone 3 MAX ZC520TL with Magisk / NO SP Flash Tools

Hello guys. I'm from Brazil and I did not see anything about root here, just a post and very difficult for beginner users. I have done a complete tutorial in PT BR and resolve to translate here for you. Sorry for the mistakes in English, I used Google Translate. I also did a video explaining, you can understand very well, the process is simple, but I have detailed everything.
The ROOT process is extremely delicate and in some cases can damage the device, fortunately most of the time everything is reversible, but you must be very careful at each step of this guide. It is worth remembering that all the risk is on your account and I have tested all the procedures.
There is a method of doing ROOT on Zenfone 3 MAX ZC520TL where SP Flash Tools software is used to install Custom Recovery and then install SuperSu for ROOT access. The problem with this method is that it did not work for me, and I received several types of errors between them.
ERROR: S_BROM_DOWNLOAD_DA_FAIL (0x7D4)
ERROR: S_DL_GET_DRAM_SETTING_FAIL (0x13BE)
Both with no apparent solution, could be anything from drivers to the version of Android I'm using. As I understand it, SP Flash Tools only works with Android 6.0, and I'm in version 7.0.
Without further explanation, let's go to what matters in this tutorial:
How to make ROOT on Zenfone 3 MAX ZC520TL
Reminding me that I am in ROM 7.0 version WW-14.12.1707.48. This tutorial is a bit different from what you're used to, and I need to explain why.
Unlock Bootloader for Zenfone 3 MAX ZC520TL
Asus provides an APK on its website to unlock the Zenfone 3 MAX ZC520TL bootloader, the problem is that this APK does not do much, for some reason it does not work fully.
But it can release some feature that allows the installation of a custom boot, which is what we will do in this tutorial.
Download the Asus APK UnlockTool: https://www.asus.com/us/Phone/ZenFone-3-Max-ZC520TL/HelpDesk_Download/
The APK does not fully unlock the bootloader, but it does release some important things. Install and authorize the APK to release Bootloader.
Install the APK;
Accept the terms;
Accept the unlocking of the Zenfone 3 MAX ZC520TL Bootloader;
If you do not perform this procedure, you may have the error "FAILED (remote: not allowed in locked state)" error - Thanks to User lukesouzaOFC DMC for warning.
As the bootloader is not unlocked 100%, it is impossible to pass a Custom Recovery and install SuperSu or Magisk and thus have ROOT access.
So the XDA user dr_awesome867 created a ROOT method on Zenfone 3 MAX using Magisk , the whole process is simple, but I'll detail step-by-step here so you do not have any questions or problems.
Basically what we will do is modify the boot of the original ROM of Zenfone 3 MAX through the Magisk and then install this boot by ADB.
ROOT on Zenfone 3 MAX ZC520TL with Magisk
Download the ROM you are using, you can download the ROM from the Asus website, the server is very fast and the ROM is downloaded as well. To find out which ROM you should download, on your Zenfone 3 MAX, go to Settings> About> Software Information . I have ROM TW_14.12.1707.48_20170725;

Download ADB Shell, this package is the basics to be able to do the installation;
Download ADB Shell / Torrent 27Mb
Download Magisk Manager, and install it on your Zenfone 3 MAX;
Download Magisk Manager
In this part of the tutorial, the download of the ROM you downloaded should be over. Go to where you saved the ROM files and extract them. After extracting the files, you will see the file "boot.img", copy it to your mobile;
In Zenfone 3 MAX, open Magisk and select Install
In the next menu, Install again;
In this menu, select Patch Boot Image File;
Navigate and select the ROM boot you've placed on your phone;
Wait for the process to finish;
Magisk has created a file called "patch_boot.img" and it is located inside the Magisk folder in the root of your device. Take this file and put it in the folder of the Root Kit Zenfone 3 that you downloaded up there in step 3 (ADB Shell) - We will use this file and install it by ADB Shell, releasing ROOT in the device;
Still in Zenfone 3, turn on USB debugging to do so enable developer mode.
Go to Settings> About> and click Version Number several times;
Will enable developer mode, go back to Settings and go to Developer Options;
Go to Superuser Access and select Applications and ADB;
Go to the computer, in the folder you extracted the Root Kit (ADB Shell) and hold Shift and right-click anywhere on the screen and select Open Command Window here;
This command will make the Zenfone 3 MAX restart in FastBoot mode. If it gives a necessary authorization notice, go to Zenfone 3 MAX and give the debug permission;
Now, enter the command:

Now this:

fastboot flash boot patched_boot.img
This command will install the boot customized by Magisk
The process is very fast, finished, type the command

fastboot reboot
To restart the Zenfone 3 MAX;
Open the Magisk and see the magic happening! You have ROOT on Zenfone 3 MAX ZC520TL with Android 7.0.
With Magisk installed, you have numerous advantages that SuperSu can not offer, such as being able to install Modules. Check out our article with The Top 10 Modules for Magisk .

I've tried to install titanium backup for testing root... with no luck: TB gets stuck on root check...

I have a problem when unlocking the bootloader in Leagoo Z3C device. Although I'm already set "OEM Unlocking" in Developer mode, when I'm running "fastboot oem unlock" inside bootloader gives a 3 dots and stuck there. Is there any way to unlock the bootloader of this kind of the device? Thanks.

Mediatek powered devices do not require a bootloader unlock to be modded.
You can mostly root, install custom recoveries and install custom roms without unlocking the bootloader because it's most of the time never locked.

But this one is actually not the MTK chipset model, it's just a simply Spreadtrum chipset model. It' looks foolish but until now I have no idea on how to unlock it even rooting it...
Much harder to root compared to Lenovo A1000 which also uses same chipset but different Android version.

So...I finally managed to get the root access of Leagoo Z3C device. Just using magisk manager and patch the stock boot.img file and there you go...

You will need to install Google USB driver first, then go to this link here to download the necessary files for rooting the device. Just flash the rooted boot.img file and also install Magisk Manager as well.

Can anyone make me a SS on the Settings menu especially targeting the factory reset area?
I want to reset the phone via OTG adapter using a keyboard.

This is the post which helped me to get root access on this device.
I cannot post an url, so search this on Google : [ROOT] Lenovo K5 Pro L38041
And the Chinese ROM on Google : lenovo s5 pro firmware and the third searched link
Before get into the process of rooting, if you have a global rom, make a copy of it...
There is no global rom which you can download, so, I installed the chinese one, but it's ok, as soon as you get root you can easily delete all the bloatware. But, if somebody has the global rom, I kindly please to make a copy and share with us .

Sounds good.. but without global stock firmware I won't try it. What is the difference between chinese and global stock?

How did you go about installing the chinese rom? I accidentally flashed the chinese boot.img to mine, would like to install the rest of the chinese rom to fix it. Thanks

No luck on finding global firmware, or finding TWRP for this phone, but here's a quick guide I assembled for rooting the ZUI firmware:
Firmware Links:

Important: Make sure to install the Qualcomm drivers
bootloader unlock from:

To unlock bootloader:
"On the site https://www.zui.com/iunlock in the first field enter IMEI1.
In the second field, enter serial number from fastboot (not the one in the settings), then enter mail and verification code.
Tick the checkbox, the sn.img file will be sent by email
In the developer’s menu, enable boot loader unlock and enable USB debugging
Put the sn.img file into the folder with ADB.exe, Start cmd. prompt, enter the commands:"
1. adb reboot bootloader
2. fastboot flash unlock sn.img
3. fastboot oem unlock-go
Rooting guide:
Copy boot.img from firmware archive to phone, use Magisk Manager to patch the file. Copy patched_boot.img into folder with adb.exe
To flash your patched img:
1. adb reboot bootloader
2. fastboot flash boot patched_boot.img
3. fastboot reboot
