How to hide a small crack on screen? - General Questions and Answers

Hi guys, so today a really small crack appeared on my Galaxy S5. I'm not particularly sure how it happened, but luckily, its pretty small.
I was just wondering if there are any easy ways to hide the crack? I've heard toothpaste could help. So should I use that?
I'm also fine with buying a screen protector to hide it. But what kind?
Thanks

need help fixing casing scratches

Hey guys,
I recently bought a touch pro and need to fix some minor scratches in the casing. When i say the casing, I mean the area around the edges where the microphone is. Does anyone know what material this is made of and how it may have been painted? It looks like I just scratched part of the paint off, but it looks like a fairly complex paintjob. Does anyone have any ideas or know of any possible way I could get a new casing?
Thanks!

[Q] Removing Chrome ring

Does anyone have experience in tearing down the Galaxy S Vibrant, and removing the chrome trim from the glass?
I've googled many tear-down videos and pictures, but none of them show removal of the chrome trim. They always leave it attached to the glass.
Any help?
Thanks in advance!
*sigh* this totally got moved to the wrong forum. I'm not asking about an aftermarket accessory. I just need to know how to remove the chrome bezel from the glass.... anyone?

Hammer?
from what ive read on various posts regarding LCD changes it's actually double sided tape holding the Bezel on, but I do have to say ive not tried removing it so this could be pure lies!
this is what i was looking for:

Thanks for the reply!
Those pictures lead me to believe the screen itself is attached to the chassis with double-side tape or some kind of glue?
So, if I were brave enough to pry off the screen, I should then be able to fully remove the chrome bezel?
Thanks again!
You should send pm to this guy http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=8310879&postcount=72
Is it possible, to remove the chrome ring, without removing the screen?
I want change this ring, because its a little bit broken ...
Thanks
I'm also interested in this... I recently dropped my SGS on the road and I got roughed up a bit. It's not that bad though.
This thread got me thinking - If it's possible to remove the chrome ring, maybe I can bondo it up and then paint it some wacky color?
That's exactly what I was thinking when I started this thread.
But all the reading I've done sounds like you need to be able to remove the screen..... which is damn near impossible to do without shattering it.

*have my answer*

maybe worth trying this stuff

Hey Guys,
A friend of mine has a tiny scratch on his screen (looks kinda annoying when surfing on the web).
Do you guys have any experience with Screen Polishers or something.
Does toothpaste works for example?
Thanks in advance.

Afaik polishes are meant to be used on plastic screens...i.doubt they can do anything good to glass ones. Your friend is better off slappin a screen protector on his desire to hide the scratch for what it's worth, avoiding future ones aswell, imho

Do those screenprotectors hide a scratch because its in the middle of the screen. and you see it when scrolling website (with white background) looks kinda annoying (i have seen the scratch now).
thanks in advance
A screen protector won't hide the scratch it'll just cover it.
That xerapol stuff looks quite good, it does say it will remove scratches from glass, and it says it'll remove scratches from a motorbike windshield, so it could be worth a shot.
It depends on whether it's a scratch or a chip, big difference, if it's a scratch give the xerapol a try
If it's a chip then it's quite a bit worse. I chipped my old iPhone screen, and it was HORRIBLE.

Samsung Galaxy SIII - Cracked Screen Replacement Issue

Hi Everyone,
I've searched and read a lot of posts but haven't found the answer I seek!!
I have a Samsung Galaxy SIII, dropped it, and hence cracked screen. I bought a replacement kit as a DIY job and followed all instructions to replace the screen. However.. When I tried to glue down the replacement screen, there didn't seem to be enough glue left over on the edges to hold the screen down flat.
My question is:
What sort of glue is used on the SIII? I want to buy the same product, add some more glue and fix down the screen properly!!!
P.S I've read about the double sided tape alternative, tried it, problem is, it leaves a slight gap and the screen isn't as responsive as it should be.
Thanks in advance
James

Question Cracking Crease

Hey all,
I bought my flip the day it came out and have developed some cracking and peeling on the crease of the screen. Is this something I can easily fix with a new screen protector or is this something I need to call Samsung for and use the warranty?
Wowsers, may I ask how that happened? I'd get onto Samsung. That's what the warranty is for after all!
This is just normal use. I don't do anything crazy. I have a desk job. It just started cracking one day and keeps getting progressively worse.
Hi i had the same problem. i saw a crack in the protector horizontaly in the crease right side 2 weeks ago(i bought zflip 3 on end of august) with a gray reflect on White color of the screen.
I decided to remove the protector (you tube vidéo helps to it and furthermore in the french stores all Zflip 3 demo units had no protector on it like flip 1). I bought an hydrogel protector taylor cutted by machine.
The bad big surprise is that the Samsung original protector is not an hydrogel one but a simple sticker like S20 models !! It's a shame for a foldable and the risj to damage the screen is high.
Now i have my z flip 3 with hydrogel that i managed to put myself because the vendor was not sure..... The feeling is better, feels stronger and i love typing text on it after.
I have 2 micro bubbles left but it's far better than to have a cut in the plastic.

Update: I got a new screen protector on Amazon and everything is perfect now. Removal and replacement wasn't much different than a standard phone.
Well done!!!, the phone is better after, the screen seems stronger, typing is easier and its protected!!!

Is it true when you replace the original protector with something else and it is not done by Samsung, warranty will be void?
