How much is a Droid Ultra Maxx DEV ED worth these days? - Droid Ultra Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Thinking about selling my VZW Ultra Maxx Dev Ed in mint condition.
How much could I get for it?
Thanks!

Hiya, the going rate on ebay for 32GB models seems to be about USD $100 (used in good condition) to USD $150 (brand new). I haven't seen any developer editions yet, but as the only difference (afaik) is the color scheme and that you don't have to unlock the bootloader yourself, I'm not sure whether you'd get much more.
My opinion may be biased since I've been watching for an unlocked one though... If you decide to sell it I'd like to make an offer.

I did end up listing it - it ends tonight so have a look if you are interested. PM me for direct link if you can't find it, I imagine it's against forum rules to post a link to an auction, etc - thanks!

Guess I missed it, did you get what you were hoping for?

It went for $128 on the bay.
That is probably my favorite phone that I've ever had and I'm bummed I sold it but I got tired of VZW's pricing combined with horrible international roaming options. When they jacked unlimited data to $50/mo last month (and w/o any heads up!) that was the last straw.
Also, maybe I'm just getting old but, I really got tired of not having one simple, comprehensive and "one-step" backup/restore/migrate option on Motorola Android phones. I'm not interested in storing my stuff on Google's (or anybody else's) servers and every Android app I tried (root or non-root) never got the job done completely.
I feel incredibly lame going back to iOS but I don't miss all the extra work. I feel like a dinosaur now lol but hey what can I say.. It's just easier for me.
I loved that phone tho, and I hope the new owner is the type of enthusiast user who will really appreciate it. I'm talking like it was my cherished dog or something, time to see a shrink

Kaiser For Sale!!!

just got my Kaiser (AT&T Tilt) less than a month ago. works great, it's just not for me. my Krzr just works better for me and i'm much more comfortable with it. i live in the Bay Area in CA and would love to sell it to a fellow ROM flasher before i go to e-bay. i can provide pics if need be but i honestly barely used it. it maybe has 90 mins of talk time on it and 20 mins of internet usage before i decided it wasn't for me. i flashed back to the Original AT&T ROM and reverted to original Radio and SPL so it's back to OUT-OF-BOX stock. have the Original CD and of course manuals and USB cable. buyer pays for shipping and i will ship same day of sale if possible.
P.S.
sorry if this post does not belong here but as stated above, i can EASILY sell on e-bay so i figured i'd give first crack to you guys/gals.
P.S.S.
also just an FYI, no SIM card included. you need your own.
PM me for questions, etc.
$200
Give me you PayPal address or how you'd like me to pay you.
whats the asking price
i wanna know did u add any apps to the phone if so what r they cause i also have the tilt but converted for t mobile and i love it and if i but how soon can i get it am mario my number is 1 267 516 4422

no apps added. i messed around with a few ROMS and apps but flashed it to stock to sell. as for $200...search e-bay and see how much even a used Tilt is going for...sorry bro give me a FAIR offer...

I can buy the Tilt, brand new, with no contract for $285 via my business account. I thought my offer to you was fair, sorry.
The Tilt has no front camera...
Kaisers seem to be less troublesome for flashing etc from what I've seen also...

not sure why it's "lol." proves the value of these badboys. knowing you can sell yours for $200+ even when it is BROKEN is pretty reassuring.
I'm pretty sure that jon_k is LOL'ing at the seller of the broken Tilt, not at you.
$400 seems like a pretty fair price for a almost new Kaiser/TyTN2.

XDA Flint for sale

Hi guys. I'm selling my Flint...here it is:
link
Yeah, it's a bit cheeky, but when it's gone, it's gone...so hurry
If I saw this 3 weeks ago I would have gone for it surely
knowing HTC Athena 2 due out soon, I now prefers to wait till Athena 2 released.
best of luck! I did best offer you on that auction, but was declined.
Yeah too right it was declined. People offering me silly money. Think I'm stupid??? If people don't want to pay what these things are worth, they should either forget it and get a device that suits their budget, or wait a couple of years until it drops to the price you want to pay (judging by the offers, it'll be about 10 years!! ), instead of wasting my time and looking a little bit foolish...
Anyway it's still for sale if anybody's interested. Link updated and slightly reduced price.
Things to take into account:
Is it Simlocked to O2? I bought mine new and sim-free last year for £624 so if locked might be considered expensive for a second-hand item when you consider if anything goes wrong with it, they'd have to go through you go get it repaired.
Can you still actually leave buyers negative feedback? I thought that had been stopped by ebay.

O2 do not, and never have SIM locked their Windows Mobile devices. The Flint is pretty much the standard HTC offering, though the current ROM does not have the HTC Home front end.
O2 also tend to do warranty repairs based on the IMEI, so do not necessarily need the original owner to mediate things, as long as you are using an O2 SIM.
It seems amazing that prices seem to vary from around £320 to well over £500 on Ebay.
Thanks for clearing that up, if I were in the market it'd justify the cost for me.
Maybe if matmaneyre could point these things out in the item description it'd clear things up to the public in general and bring about a quicker sale
I still don't think it's possible to leave negative feedback to a buyer though, especially one with whom no transaction has actually occurred.
Yes- you're right. Ebay changed the rules at the end of last year, for better or worse, though as you say, it was never possible to leave FB for someone who didn't actually buy.
With Ebay, the content of the advert say's an awful lot about the product and the seller
I thought about buying that from you off of eBay.
Something doesn’t quite feel right about that auction.
You say it’s an upgrade, yet it’s not available as an upgrade!? Also you say it’s too complicated for you but it’s no more complicated than any other Windows mobile device.
Maybe I’m paranoid but...
To be honest, by 'too complicated for me' I really meant not quite right for me, as it has too many features I am not going to use, and I think I would be better off cashing in and getting something more suitable to my needs. Hope that clears it up a bit. I'd have put that in the description, but it seems to take so long to create a good listing just the way you want it, minor things that the everyday person browsing for such a device just get overlooked when you preview your listing before submitting it. Once you get to a stage where you think it sounds and looks good enough, you kinda just go with it.
As you say, it's no more complicated than any other WM device. It is available as an upgrade through O2, but strictly only to business customers. They are extremely hard to get hold of otherwise. I hounded them literally everyday for a month because I returned my faulty Serra (see my signature) and they couldn't offer me an equal or better replacement. All their Serras were out of stock - really messed me about for 4 weeks. In the end they backed down as there was nothing else they could offer me.
They don't know their ear from their elbow.
And I didn't realise you couldn't leave negative feedback to a buyer as luckily I've never been in a situation where I'd want to, although that's really only on there to make people think seriously before submitting an offer. I don't want to be relisting all the time for the sake of someone not reading the buyer restrictions or trying to scam me.
Hope that explains a few things...if you're still wary,. check my feedback. I've sold all my WM devices of the last 5 years on ebay (see sig again!) And see my postcount and view my posts too. I am a real, genuine human!!
Thanks everyone for the helpful info (didn't realise there was no simlock either!)
In general section is a thread called Buy & Sell

I didn't realise there was a buy and sell section. Thanks for that. If a mod would like to move me, feel free.
Anyway, relisted (again), updated link (again) and reduced (again)!
SOLD now, thanks.

xoom network locking/barring question.

Evening all, apologies for the probably noobish question but i've done a fair amount of searching and have to give in and just ask.
My younger brother got a xoom (32gb wi-fi and 3g) on contract in the uk with three, he then neglected to pay the bill entirely.
My question to you good folks is as follows...
Can three network bar it as they could with a mobile handset who's bill remained unpaid?
If i offer to pay off his contract as the helpful, older, wiser, better looking brother and then, confiscate his tablet and sell it to recoup my huge outlay - can anyone tell me if im going to get an angry winning ebay bidder messaging me to say that it doesn't work with their sim card as its been barred/blocked etc etc??
is there anyway i can check on the actual device?, at the minute it just comes up with "no sim" although the wi-fi works fine as you'd expect.
I just want rid of it, and to have my bank balance drained as little as possible before i send photos of my brother to every retailer asking them to politely remove him from their store.
Thanks for any help that you guys can provide.
kinny
Not to be a bummer but if you did pay off his contract you probably still have a huge dent in your wallet even after selling it. Probably best bet is to just keep with the contract and keep the XOOM since it is a decent device. I know that you want to sell it but I doubt you could sell it for all that much. And if you did pay off the contract your tablet should be unlocked so I doubt people would complain if they are blocked.
Just pop-in a different SIM to check if you still get a no-SIM error.

Nah i do agree in principle but I've already got 2 laptops assorted work and home phones and an ipad so the last thing i need is another bit of kit that'll turn into a paper weight, any money back from selling is better than none as i'm resigned to paying off his bill regardless under the understanding that the device becomes mine in exchange for his credit history not becoming ruined at the age of 18.
If i paid it off it'd be over a few months rather than in a lump sum just not the remaining 17 months thats left as i want it gone and off my mind asap!
they seem to be going for £200 plus on ebay which is £200 more than if i put it in the drawer and forgot about it.
Cheers for the reply though matey, much appreciated.

The simplest solutions are usually best and in this reply i think you've just epitomised that! Will try this asap.
I still wonder if they can actually be blocked/barred though?

Hmm I see, if you want to get rid and don't mind losing a bit of money, I suppose paying it off as soon as possible and selling it will be wise. And no it won't be barred or blocked if everything works out fine. Don't know about changing ownership, lol first I heard of that but you probably have to discuss it with three. Just curious, why did your brother grab that device knowing he can't pay for it? It would've been better if he just brought it outright if you asked me.

Best Upgrade Deal, Existing Customer?

Been rocking my Epic 4G since it's release date, but I've pretty well decided on upgrading to the Photon.
That said, I've had an eligible upgrade since April '12 that I'm due, so from where is the best deal for getting a Photon including signing another 2yr agreement.
I see that through Best Buy right now I can get it for $99....and hate that I missed out on that $39 Costco deal w/accessories, but oh well.
So, is there anything better going right now than the $99 Best Buy option?
Thanks in advance.

I got mine a month ago yesterday for $40 at the sprint store, because it's $40 with a new line. So I cancelled my existing line with an upgrade and got this phone and still have no regrets
The only thing I miss is the Epic's mass development, while this phone is definitely lacking that. But we'll get there!
Yeah, not sure I want to go the route of cancelling a line and adding a new. I'm grandfathered in and get way too many discounts as I sit now with Sprint and they'd probably try to take some of it back if I pulled something like that.
On that Costco deal it says online they're out of stock...but I wonder if they keep in in the local stores to make it work checking if they have any in store or if when it says out of stock online it's pretty much across the board?
I agree that the development isn't even close coming from the Epic, but I've read that the Photon is so good out of the box there isn't a lot of need for it so that's why it's a little slow starting.
Either way, thanks for the response..
No idea about the Costco thing, sorry bud.
But you're correct about this phone being fantastic out of the box. Which is why it's really exciting seeing where this phone will go with future development

FYI, the out of stock is online only. You can call or visit your local store to check their stock. Of the two near me one had three left in stock ( now two ), the other store only had one.
Haha nice! I'm assuming it's safe to say you got one right?

OnePlus Introducing their own trade-in program?

I just got an email from OP stating," Trade-in to trade-up with OnePlus." I guess, since OP figured OP7 Pro might be too expensive for most of us, why not use the same approach as Samsung i.e. to offer easier trade-ins. I am not sure if I am allowed to post the link (please delete, if inappropriate) but starting 05/14 you can figure out the trade-in value of your device by going to their website at:
https://www.oneplus.com/trade-in?ut...sc_llid=304708&sc_uid=9STCbFWRul#address/edit
Any one planning on trading-up? I am going to hold on to simply because I am not totally sold on the pop-up front camera concept.
No. This isn't new, they have done this since a year or two ago.
It's ****. The prices they offer are terrible.
Yeah, at the moment in the UK it's only for purchase of 6t and £160 for the basic OP6.
Not very competitive. Good idea though

Won't be using it. The prices seem like they're undercutting the consumer. Good for someone who's lazy or if time goes on and the phone really lost its value
