Unoot Grand Prime with stock firmware - Android General

I'm not technical but I have had my experience in this situation. I rooted my galaxy grand prime SM-G530H because I wanted to recover something lost. This incurred no possible way of booting up the phone without going through odin mode and rooting it over and over again. No factory reset, no supersu fully unroot, nothing could fix it. To unroot it with stock firmware, you should get md5.tar file for your exact build of the model. You should get your build number in the about device, with your model number, android version and baseband version (which is the build number). If you have a file for your model, it may still fail if you don't have the exact file for the build and thus would not work, so ensure you search for the right file.
If this goes for other models? Well I am not sure but try it and see what happens.

[Completed] [Q] Samsung Galaxuy Note 3 Sm-n900t Clone

I'm trying to get this phone to work.
SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE 3
Model: SM-N900
Baseband Version: N900UBUBMJ2
Android Version 4.3
kERNEL VERSION: 3.4.5 [email protected] #1 Fri May 16 17:06:46 CST 2014
BUILD NUMBER: JSS15J.N900UBUBMJ2
SELinux Status: enforcing
In the Phone Status in settings
It's showing me:
IMEI : UNKNOWN
IMEI SV
I somehow entered the Chinese recovery and deleted the ROM by mistake, I wasn't sure what I was doing.
Then I found out after how to get into the English recovery.
I tried an IMEI changer, but it's saying fake kernel.
I tried flashing using SP Flash Tool, but I need a scatter file, which I don't know where to find.
After the delete, I realized the phone doesn't show the Base Model upon boot.
When I place my SIM card in the phone, I'm seeing IMEI invalid.
I did some research and I discovered that I need to flash a ROM back to my phone in order to rectify the IMEI issue.
I rooted the phone using Kingo Root. I installed and used various Apps simultaneously like Safestrap, GooManager, Flashify, TWRP manager unto the phone, I go the recovery installed using all of those. But When I tried to boot to the recovery, The phone shows ANDROID, like a stock phone.
I did some more research, and found that I need a T999 recovery and I also researched and saw that the Boot Loader is locked for the NOTE 3. I'm wondering if the boot loader is locked for this Chinese clone to.
All I would like is to be able to boot to the recovery, I'm unable to access the phone through ODIN, I have all the latest drivers, I purchased new USB cables.
I would be grateful for anyone's assistance. Thanks in Advance.
Hi,
Thanks for using XDA Assist Your EFS Partition is corrupted hence the only way you could fix it is by EFS Backup of your own device not from other device . since its clone only way is to go to Service Center and get it fixed
Good Luck!

Samsung Galaxy S6 (unlocked) Manual update 5.1.1. UK

Hi, I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 originally on EE and I had it unlocked to 3. I am unable to do an update as via WiFi and I am presented with the following message, "The operating system on your device has been modified in an unauthorised way. Try downloading software updates using Smart Switch on your PC or visit a customer service centre".
I have been told that the unlocking of the phone has resulted in me not being able to use smart switch and that the phone is no longer connected to the Samsung servers.
The build number is LRX22G.G920FXXU1AOCY
I am using Android 5.0.2. at the moment.
If you're rooted you get that message.
Best thing to do is download your current rom again, flash it with odin and that'll restore everything to stock and allow the over the air update to be downloaded. (It doesn't wipe your phone)
Alternately download the latest rom for your model and flash that in odin and it'll update it.
Not that there is no (easy) way to root 5.1.1 without tripping knox.
How do I know if my phone is rooted or not?
Are there any obvious signs that will indicate whether or not the phone is rooted?
If the phone is rooted, where can I find the correct rom for my device and what are the steps to carry out this process?

[Completed] tmobile sgh-t999 s3 wont boot completely

I have a t-mobile s3 that was at one time rooted then updated to the latest firmware root was lost and never rerooted. I was running the latest update totally stock no modifications. The phone wont complete the boot it just hangs at the end where the samsung is going from blue to white. The phone will go into download mode and recovery however when i tried to do a factory reset on it it failed. The device is not rooted so i cant flash a rom to it. I dont know how to fix it. I dont know what version of odin to use and am not sure what rom to put on it or if i can even do it. I connected the phone to odin and it said s4 mini so I am thinking that is not the version of odin to even try and flash the stock firmware. any suggestions on how to fix my phone or if it can be fixed?
Hello,
Welcome to XDA.
I cant post a link for you but you can go to Sammobile or samsung-updates and use your model number to find your stock firmware. I'm sure there will be more than one android version for your device so choose whichever you want, just be mindful of which ones are rootable or not if you want to root it again at some point. Then use at least Odin version 3.09 or newer, make sure you have the newest version of "USB drivers for Samsung phones" installed.
If you have more questions or need further assistance you can post your question in the forum linked below.

The experts there may be able to help, good luck.

Galaxy S6 Edge SoftBrick (DRK)

Hi,
I've one (big) problem that I can't fix.
I've been using Android 5.0.1 for more than 1 year as I didn't want to upgrade (it worked pretty well) and because I had the S6 rooted with PingPong root.
However, one month ago it started to run slowly, crashing apps, ... so I decided that, as I wanted to wipe the device, why not upgrade to MM (6.0.1)??, so I did.
I did a backup of all my data and EFS folder and downloaded a 6.0.1 ROM to flash it with ODIN. Everything went OK and finished flashing the rom, but when the S6 restarted it showed this in the recovery:
'dm-verity verificztion failed...
Need to check DRK first...'
And I cant boot.
I've tried some tips that are here and in other websites:
- I've flashed stock rom again
- I've flashed a stock rom without cache.img file.
- I Can't flash some files as I've R/L ON. (I've been trying to disable it for many months but I couldn't).
But the S6 doesn't boot...
Thank you!
What worked for me.
So this is my current issue, but i was able to resolve the issue you are having. so what i did was get the 5.1X OK7 (My phone is Verizon) firmware and flashed through ODIN 3.12.5, this flashed stock 5.1.1 in my phone and it worked good. however i have issue with my phone random restarts and power button not working in recovery or in rom. however i can go in and out of downloading mode or maintenance mode.

I tried to downgrade to 5.1.1 or 5.0.1 but I get an error.
(SW REV CHECK FAIL DEVICE 2 BINARY 1)
That happens when you don't have the right firmware you have.
You CANNOT downgrade to 5.1 or 5.0 since you are on 6.0. The bootloaders refuses to be overwritten.

I'm trying to flash another 6.0.1 ROM (a bit older), but I get 'CHECK FAIL. DEVICE: 4, BINARY:3'
I've read that DRK problems are related with EFS files, so... Can I restore EFS folder (I've a backup from Android 5.0.1) to solve?? I don't know how to restore it without booting into the sistem (and without custom recovery)
I am afraid that downgrade to 5.0.1 is not possible, at least I dont know anyone who succedeed in doing that.
If you were on systemless root, probably your Knox is still 0, check it in DL mode, if it is and you have the phone less that 3 yrs (1 yr warranty+2yrs factory warranty) best solution would be to ask in Samsung repair center if the factory warranty would be accepted (ofcourse dont mention flashing, just say you tried official update, and play dumb).
If not you can try custom kernel wich will bypass DRK, and prolly make the phone bootable, but there is no guarantee everything will work well (maybe it will, but mostly it doesnt, forget using Samsung pay, and KNOX tripped)
As for EFS, maybe I am wrong, but I think EFS contains IMEI and sn info, and DRK is something else.

I had the device rooted, but with PingPong root, so Knox is still 0. However it shows that the system is "custom".
I'll try the warranty, they may not notice the "custom", just the knox.
I'm with the same problem when trying to flash stock BTU QA7..and only if i flashing cf_root my phone is booting.
Any idea? I don't care about the Knox..

If you are talking about DRK, the only way to fix it that I know of, other than hw replacement, is via 3rd party professional repair tool. (Octopus/Octoplus box)
If DRK is ok, phone boots normaly, if it is messed up, the only way of booting is with custom kernel which bypass DRK check.
You can check it in recovery, if messed up it will say DM verity failed on bottom of the screen.
Ok, i send my phone to fix, i will tell you what happened.

Thanks for your reply!!.
I took my S6 (925F) to a Samsung service center as you said. However, they told me that my S/N was incorrect (I bought a second-hand S6 edge, I think someone changed it) so they couldn't fix it.
Now I'm trying to use SmartSwitch to do a factory reset but it asks me for the S/N and I don't have the original one, just a S/N from a non edge S6 (920F). How can I do the factory reset without my S/N??? Can I use the serial number from another 925F??
Now I'm trying to find an engineering bootloader, to bypass the R/L and flash CF-AutoRoot, custom recovery.... but I only find it for 5.0.1 or... for galaxy S6 G925T, not F.
Finally, I managed to fix my S6 by myself!! (not really, but at least it boots...)
This is what I did:
- I found a factory binary for my S6 so I flashed it via ODIN
- I flashed a 6.0.1 ROM without hidden and without cache
Then it boots without any problems. However, now I can't get into recovery
I hope this will help someone

Need help un-rooting my S7

Hi All
I had and still have the latest software for SM-G930F
I followed a tutorial to root my s7 but then realised that root does not work properly on android 8.0.0
I would love some help to un-root my s7.
Baseband version
G930FXXS7ESL5
Build Number
R16NW.G930FXXS7ESL5
I have used odin to re flash original firmware but it still says the device is rooted.
like Samsung pass comes up this device is rooted so this option is unavailable.
i used sm-g930f cf-auto root, magic-disk and no-verify-opt-encrypt 6.1 and have twrp 3.3.1.0-herolte
it will only let me re-flash android 8.0.0 original firmware witch i though would wipe the the phone completely and un-root but i was most certainly wrong.
i wold love my s7 back on android 7.0 or below so that i can have a custom rom installed.
If you need more info let me know and thanks i advance to all the developers, moderators and users.
thanks
John
Hey there, since you have twrp already installed you could look into some of the custom roms if you want theres even Pie roms with OneUi avaliable, i have almost no experience with cf autoroot but if you want to completely get rid of previous system files before flashing the firmware select the option 'nand erase' in odin and make sure you fill every file to its respective field.
I would suggest against using 'plz' 'pls' in the title or your thread because that will most likely get you ignored, feel free to give me an update if that worked for you!
