Hi everyone,
I bought this phone a while ago. The device keeps on resetting by itself every now and then. Its still ons ICS, I want to try and update it to Jelly Bean. I am in South Africa and the update is not available OTA or on Kies. I cant find a link that allows me to download the firmware. Can anyone please assist me with the firmware. I'm getting no help from Samsung.

I have a new galaxy GT-I9000HKYORS. I live in New Zealand and am trying to update via Kies to Gingerbread 2.3.3. Kies keeps telling me that the current firmware is up to date. It is Froyo 2.2. I know Gingerbread is available but I just cannot get it.
Does anyone know why?

I recently purchased a O2 locked Galaxy S from UK. I unlocked it and it works fine with every other network. Before unlocking it, i used to connect it with KIES, where it showed me about the Froyo upgrade [It notified me with the availability of the Froyo firmware update]. After the unlocking though, i am not being able to update my android Pls help.. The KIES says there are "no firmware upgrades" available [the latest KIES]
My Galaxy S Details are :
Baseband version - I9000XXJPK
Kernel 2 . 6 . 29 root SE-S608 #2
Build Number ECLAIR . ADJM1
I now want to upgrade the phone with Gingerbread. I need your help guys. I found the corresponding upgrade files with Odin. There was no direct upgrade files from 2.1 -> 2.3. But I have downloaded the 2.2 Odin files. its relevant for XXJPK. Now In order to upgrade mine from 2.1 -> 2.3, should I update with 2.2 and then upload 2.3. or can I directly update the phone with 2.3 Odin files.
I am not a pro, but i can do the flashing with basic guidance. Could you please help me out here.. I would be so grateful for your replies.
P.S: I have rooted the phone. But nothing else, no lag fixes, nothing. Just superuser. But I never use it.

Hi,
In my opinion there is no update option in Kies, because Samsung didn`t relese any Gingerbread update for your region yet.
But if you realy need to upgrade, there are some Gingerbread ROMs at samfirmware.com, that you could flash through Odin. I sugest the latest stable relese of Darky`s ROM.

Hi guys. Sorry if this has been covered already, I'm sure that others may have had this problem too.
The issue I am facing is with my Samsung Galaxy S3. I am running on 4.0.4 which I rooted with Heimdall Frontend 1.3 on my Mac.
I am a novice with the whole rooting thing so I am a bit confused. I am at the moment living in Australia, my mobile is an unbranded phone which I bought on contract in the UK on Vodafone and am now using it here on Optus mobile.
I had a firmware update sent through tonight which I downloaded over the air, the download completed and so I proceeded to update. The update failed after only a few seconds directing me to the rooted firmware bios.
So where do I go from here? I would like Jelly Bean on my mobile but I seem to not be able to get it because of the root I guess. I'm thinking I may have to use SU to unroot the mobile and install the update but is there a better way and is Jelly Bean rootable yet?

Well I root my samsung galaxy s advance (GT-i9070), and now I have to jedMOD rom, but my question is if this phone seriously going to be upgraded to android 4.1 jelly bean, as I do to upgrade? because when I connect to samsung kies I get a message telling me that the phone does not support kies. So that way I will be able to upgrade?.

Till now there are now informations for a JB Update on you phone. But when it will arrive you should be able to upgrade it with stock rom and kies
Hello, i live in karachi pakistan.
I recently got a motorola xt910 4.0.4 installed, the system version is 673.94.xt910.retail.en.il
Since i guess this means it is been imported here from israel, i am not able to find the correct firmware to update it to 4.1 Jelly bean.
I have searched everywhere but still couldnt find a single link, i tired with the european versions but it gives an error ( not able to update something like that ) while i update it from the boot menu.
Please if anyone knows how i could update it let me know.
