Cannot get past bootloop when installing roms - D2403 - Sony Xperia M2

Hi everybody!
I have spent the whole day trying to install Slimrom on my Sony M2 aqua D2403, and after I didn't succeed, I also tried cyanogenmod 12.1. I am already past the state of going crazy!! I hope somebody can help me
So, what happens is that after a lot of time I finally got TWRP to work and was able to install the custom roms (I'm a semi-noob, as I have installed custom roms on my old Sony M, but am still not very knowledgable).
I am getting bootloop on both roms that I have tried today, and I have tried it MANY times. Have flashed stock rom with flashtool by Androxyde several times and tried from there (Android 5.1.: 18.6.A.0.175, as well as Android 4.4.: 18.3.1.C.1.17) .
I followed pawcioo132's instruction from the slimrom forum: Quote:
1. Recommend to start at stock LP.
2. Update bootloader via Emma.
3. Flash recovery via fastboot (each i recommend).
4. Full wipe (cache, data, dalvic cache, system)
5. Flash latest ROM.
6. Enjoy.
Part 1 I have already mentioned here.
Part 2 seems to not be possible with the M2 aqua. At least Emma tells there are no services for my device.
So, I found a solution that at least let me enter recovery mode. What I did is i flashed (with flashtool) the FTF made by linuxct (from this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-m2/development/twrp-2-8-7-0-updated-theme-t3252807), which is supposed to be the same as updating the bootloader through Emma.
Part 3-5 was no problem. Everything went fine (after I succeeded in finding the FTF file mentioned above - which took like 7 hours or so).
The only thing that didn't work was part 6. I have bootloop every time. The boot animation just stays forever (I have tried up to 50 minutes) on both roms I have tried.
Was it maybe because of what I did in part 2?
Does anybody have any idea what I can do? Maybe someone who has succeeded in installing a custom rom for the D2403 could tell me what they did differently or something like that.
This is my first post here. I have done my best to give all relevant information. If there is any important info missing, please tell me!!
The Roms I have tried are
- Slimrom custom 2 from http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-m2/orig-development/5-1-1-slimrom-xperia-m2-lte-t3244761
- CM 12.1 beta 2 from http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-m2/orig-development/rom-cyanogenmod-12-developement-t2971213
Thanks in advance for any help!

If u did all of this and didn't work, you probably have a D2403 with GPIO problem.
There is a lib file to remove to workaround this, but somethings don't work if u do this
(Sorry for bad english)

Thanks a lot, Paulo! Your post made me read a lot about gpio and in the end I decided to try to install the z5 s.t.y.l.e rom by linuxct. It is running perfectly and I am more than satisfied with it. Amazing! Thanks again!

[Q] cyanogenmod bootloop

i installed cm 11 unofficial from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2608377 but when i turn my moto g on it gets stuck in the cyanogenmod loading screen if anyone can help it will be great
You didn't want to post your issue in that thread?
I'm having same problem.. Also same problem for bam ROM
Sent from my XT1032 using xda app-developers app
managed to get out of the CM11 bootloop after applied Fix Permissions (or something similar) in TW's Custom Recovery.
Seems that only TW recovery can fix this through a permissions fix.
Got the same problem last night and the only thing to do to get it works was to re-flash the stock firmware, flash the recovery and reinstall the CM build. Latest build seems to be pretty good.
Simply wiping the cache before and after flash worked for me.

Not for me, sadly.
I've also tried to re-flash the rom through the recovery but the only fix that worked for me was to flash the stock firmware and then install the CM via recovery.
Same here, had difficulties getting Cyanogen to boot.
What I did is :
- roll back to stock 4.3 : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2546251 (yes, you can roll back, read the end of the post)
- allow OTA update to 4.4.2
- install CWM
- in CWM : format /system, /data and /cache, install cyanogen from ZIP, wipe dalvik cache
Mysteriously it worked like a charm after many unsuccessful tries and a softbrick ^^
Btw, no need to root the stock ROM to install CWM or a custom ROM, just skip this step
Do you have the XT1032 version?

I´m tired of the mess made it because of the three different Moto G versions, i'm waiting for official Recovery from CWM, maybe 3 months it's to early but I wanna try this method. (I hope to don´t hardbrick haha)
I was having the same problem with every rom i tried. After going back complete stock with Alonsoch's tool in the original Dev thread, I was then able to get past the boot on any rom

[Q] Possible recover?

Hello!
Today I've played with my Xperia L too hard. I tried to change my android to cyanogenmod multiple times. (Again and again bootloop.)
It happened when I've done flashing from the recovery. Everything went smooth but then something came wrong,... Error.
I rebooted it and It stucked on SONY logo.
I used flashtool -> fastboot, flashmode, bootloader mode.
Unfortunately android and USB debugging are dead.
The only thing that still works is CWM recovery.
R.I.P. or not?
(My bootloader is unlocked.)
P.S. Sorry for my bad english and thanks in advance.
You did not mention if you tried booting after a factory reset (clearing data and caches)

Of course I tried. System is not even loading up. Everything ends on SONY logo or CWM recovery.
I think that partitons are blank.
I got stock ROM on my HDD. I think i can convert .tft to .zip and then through another phone/adapter do the copy to sdcard.
Is it the same as flashing through the Flashtool?
Hmmm
I already tried to install .zip firmware but "Instalation aborted." after "Instaling update."
Solution?
Phone can't even charge the battery.

To upgrade to Cyanogenmod you need to have the latest sony update for your device. (4.2.2)
You also need to have the latest CWM on your device. For the newer updated roms ( Cyanogen,Carbon....)
And ofcourse you need to whipe everything before proceding..... factory reset, clean cashe and dalvik....
Try flashing it with Thunderzap...
Thunderzap 4.6 is designed for kitkat roms.
Works perfectly with flashing it and running on them.
Best of luck.
PS: I had the similar issue like yourself on start. I was stuck...
The thing is i flashed roms true custom kernels such as THUNDERZAP or PHANTOM...
Never worked true flashtool.
I only flashed custom kernel true flashtool and stock rom.
Yes.
Maybe you won't belive me, but I tried custom kernel sec before you posting.
It works now. And problem was my recovery. It died on symlinks.
And as u wrote I tried Thunder Kernel + Thunder Stock recovery.
Everything went smooth I installed Carbon without problems.
Anyway thanks and again sorry for my average english.

HTC One Max boots into recovery

Hello, everyone. I have a small problem and I hope anyone will help very soon.
I unlocked my HTC One Max (Vodafone) and when I installed Superuser via recovery (TWRP), it wasnt yet rooted, so I guess I was mixin between tutorials. Then I saw the step for the unsecure kernel, downloaded it and flashed it. Now the problem is that my phone won't boot anymore and only takes me to recovery every time I choose reboot or restart system.
Can someone please help or link me to the solution if there was any.
Thanks a lot in advance

Flashing SuperSU.zip via twrp is pretty much rooting so we can leave that bit out:silly:
As for the trouble it could be either
1)you installed a wrong kernel not made for your phone
2)the installed twrp and kernel are not compatible together
I think its no.2 mostly and you'll need to make a choice between the two.
Solutions other than doing a hard reset as it will not fix your phone
1)restore a backup if you've made one beforehand
2)flash any ohrt ROM/kernel
3)flashing stock firmware
choose another recovery if you want To install and try your mentioned kernel/ROM
Note : flashing is a risky process so from now on make a backup before doing something and when following a tutorial try not to mix it up.
Try to get a good grip of what you're doing before doing anything good luck

Custom ROM Issue... Stuck Booting...

Hey androids, I submitted this question as a reply to the guide thread already earlier... just thought it might get noticed in this forum alittle quicker... any help would be appreciated
I'm working on a recalled tablet that I rooted to keep using, and up until recently the ROM i had installed on it worked famously (bliss pop with android 5.1.1). Now, I was having some issues with it and thought "Well, i'll try out a different rom!"
So, I already had root (obviously) and I had already successfully installed a rom to this tablet... Using TWRP (both the 2.8.x.x I used previously and the newest one available for the shield) I have backed up, wiped, and flashed the images to 3 different roms + gapps for the appropriate versions...
first, I was going an issue with it mounting the \data partition so it wouldn't flash anything... then I repaired and rewiped the partitions, and got (what appeared to me in the logs) a clean and successful install of the roms. Each time I successfully flashed a ROM and GAPPs zips I would go to boot the ROM and my table would sit on the "NVIDIA" boot screen forever, never advancing to boot the ROMs.
I was worried that I had made a mistake and bricked the thing (though, it's been on borrowed time anyways being a recalled tablet). But I was able to force shutdown the tablet and reboot it into TWRP for another try. Each time I cleared the previous flash, wiped the cache and system partitions, and would get another clean install... but each time, it would get stuck on that same boot screen....
Anyone have any suggestions? thoughts? ideas? fixes? answers?.... anything? lol
Thanks folks!
Assuming you are trying to flash MM custom roms: You need the MM bootloader.

Is the newest TWRP *not* a MM bootloader?
TWRP is a recovery. A bootloader is a bootloader.
This is covered in every rom thread that updated from L to M.

I'll re-look, the guides i've read have only covered flashing TWRP, then using them to flash the ROM and GAPPs... Which is what I did the first time I rooted it and put on a custom ROM... though maybe I didn't delete the original bootloader the first time and did so accidentally this time?
Thanks for the heads up though people, we'll see if I can straighten it out now that I know what I'm looking for

Ok, so I've downloaded the shield recovery zip, flashed the boot.img to the boot... nothing, then I read on one of the guides here that the "blob.img" is the bootloader... but the zip has a blob, without the .img
So I then attempted to add .img, and flash it to "boot" in TWRP, and there was an error, saying the file is too large...
do you (or someone else) know where to find a guide on where to find/how to flash a MM bootloader?
thanks
Ok, so I found guide with links to the latest firmware update; I flashed it, rebooted, and now I've gotta past the "Nvidia" boot screen into the Bliss boot screen... It's been here for a couple minutes now, gonna give it alittle bit and then try to install the other ROM I had tried.

step-by-step: I am dying, nothing works, no functional ROM, crashes, bootloops !

Hello Experts!
I am sorry that post is a little unspecific, but I have the feeling that I tried everything to get my phone rooted and flash a rom, but nothing worked for me !
I am so frustated know :crying: and I really dont know what to do...
I found like a dozend different tutorials, how-to's, videos, a.s.o. and downloaded 15 different stock & custom ROMs plus TWRP, SuperU files as ZIP, IMG, FTF and what else, in alpha, beta, final versions.
I have all tools installed ADB, fastboot, Flashtool64, but I dont understand the right order of tasks, what comes first and what last.
1) root
2) flash boot.img + recovery
3) flash a rom as ftf or as zip from twrp menu or the flashtool ?
I tried Z5 AndroPlusKernels from v09 to v31 and twrp from 3.0., 3.0.2
I addition I replaced my Z5 with a brand new one...(thx to Amazon)
...BUT
I cant get anything on my phone execpt TWRP 2.7.8.0. and root right of course.
Everthing after that point is not working for me!
I am hanging in freezing screens, boot loops, crashes or everthing at the same time!
Can someone please lead my to a step-by-step guide to flash a(ny) ROM on my Xperia Z5!?
Thanks a lot & sorry for my poor english
SB
I sent you PM.
