I didn't drop it or anything. All of the side buttons work so I tried a hard reset and my phone is encrypted so I have to enter my passcode to get back into my device. I have a Nexus 5 unrooted, completely stock. Basically the touch screen was working perfectly fine and then just stopped working. Do I buy a whole new screen? It's not the lcd because I can see everything on the screen. If you need any other info let me know and thanks for your help!
Hello,
Welcome to XDA.
Again, your hardware is damaged, get the hardware fixed.

Anyone else who owns a Touch Cruise have their touch screen just stop functioning altogether? I came back to use my phone which was just sitting in the car and the touch screen no longer works...Obviously this did not happen due to being dropped, though it was a little warm nothing unusual by any standard.
All the hardware keys work, everything else...just the touch screen is dead. Has anyone else had this happen and if so were there any steps to reviving the screen or was replacing it an option, if so what did you do?

I had this problem with mine, it was just to send it to their lovely repair center through the dealership since I still got my Warranty, they exchanged the front panel, witch senses the touching. Depending on where in the world you live you should be able to by a separate one, or get it repaired by them. I hope it solves for you...
Thanks, I am well out of the 1 year warrant and in the US, which is not even where this phone was originally warranted so there is no chance of that.
I believe the cost of repair outside of warranty, and the time it would take that I would be out of my phone would not be worth it. I am hoping that I could purchase a replacement screen and repair it myself...Anyone have any direction here to do so?
Let me clarify something in regards to the malfunction. The screen itself is still visible and I can see everything as I would normally on a fully functioning lcd screen...The screen simply does not respond to any touch!
Touch Screen stop
hi i install the wwe-hero-3g and it stop it say"Tap the screento setup the windows" my phone is a at&t 8525 so what can i do.
i have the exact same problem. makes the phone useless
Hi try getting into the screen set up, ie where you tap the screen on first boot. You can use the program "mymobiler" to operate the screen through the computer.
Hope this helps!!
Same ****..
Have the same silly situation. Can´t even install the above program as it is impossible to respond "yes" to question about installing.
Have just ordered a replacement digitizer from this source:

Don´t know if I will be able to fix it and I have also ordered a new Iphone as
I´m getting tired of all the problems with my loved Touch Cruise.
Ok so I am new to this so please excuse the ignorance. So I replaced my touch screen digitizer put everything back together and worked . But after a few a weeks the touch screen just stopped working. So I wiped the data and still no response. Do I need to do a firmware update. This is pretty frustrating. Any input would be good thanks for looking and your time.
Hello All,
In my attempt to root the device which I was successful in doing somehow things went south when i tried to flash TWRP on my device. I performed the .img to tar.md5 conversion with the CWM Tool on another thread then i flashed the file to my device, afterwards the devices were rebooted and now I am unable to touch the screen with my fingers and only my S-Pen works, which tells me hardware wise the screen is ok but something software wise is causing this issue. Can someone please help me in troubleshooting this issue. I seen another user have this same exact issue but it ended with him sending it to the service center. I have performed a full dat/factory reset.... I have performed a full reflashing of the stock rom i have re-rooted. I am all out of options.
See video i made regarding this issue.

Thanks in advance!
Can anyone help with this
Capacitive touch and spen use 2 totally different chips inside the tablet. The spen uses a Wacom digitizer, while touch interaction is processed using standard methods.
In fact, each one has their own ribbon cable from the screen to different points on the motherboard.
I have no idea how rooting broke your touch ability, but the spen working is not an indication that the touch interaction is not damaged in some way.
I can tell you that on mine (especially when using papyrus) it has a tendency to lose touch until I shut the screen off and turn it back on. Maybe something screwy is going on with the touch driver. Flash back to stock and see if it's still broken
Did the reset work?
I ask because we just got a used tablet off ebay and it is doing the same thing to me. My wife emailed Samsung who said blah-blah-blah so we are stuck with it. I know enough to brick a phone really fast, but I have been running custom Roms a long time and have replaced screens so I may check the cables on my day off.
But it was doing it before I rooted it, recovery, and Hyper-drive Rom.
though the knox had been tripped before I got it, so I don't know what has been done to it before this. So please let me know what you think even if you try it and it does or doesn't work and I will gladly do the same for you.
Thanks--Rick
My wife had her portable for 13 months and the touchscreen decides to not work. I did a factory data reset and nothing. Everything else works fine. It's not ever been dropped. The screen just doesn't respond to touches. The thumbstick works though for the mouse and the trigger works for clicking. The device has never been rooted.
I was told by Nvidia to flash the recovery image. So I try this, and man it was a pain in the ass because I've never done this before and the bootloader screen had the white screen of death described in another thread. So for me to flash the recovery image, I had to watch a video of someone doing it and then blindly follow the inputs and mimic them on my blank white screen.
Well I finally got it flashed and still no dice. From what I have been reading the flex cable on the LCD screen is the issue. Because when I power it on, if I don't have it flipped all the way open, I will have the white screen of death.
Anyone know where I can have this repaired? I live in Cincinnati OH. Also I have another portable myself and I know this is going to eventually happen to it as well :-/
So few months ago, I kind of broke the phone (fell from a certain height, screen cracked and body bent).
I got it fixed, however I've been noticing something.
The screen randomly stops responding. None of the touch works. I have to lock and unlock the phone for it to function. Everything else works perfectly.
I've done a factory reset (soft and hard as well) but the problem continues to persist.
I love this phone but this problem is really annoying and frustrating. Desperately need your help guys.
You must have got your screen replaced and seems it is duplicate screen now.
I have the same issue on my iPhone 5S. Screen freezes sometimes and works only after lock unlock and it is a duplicate screen.
