Has anyone specifically tried the replacement N5 battery from etradesupply? It's the only one I can see that even looks anything like OEM. All the rest are clearly knockoffs.
There's another thread about replacement battery vendors, but most of those on eBay are sold out, and the remaining one is pretty sketchy. The Amazon batteries all have substantially negative feedback, too.
I just can't see throwing away a perfectly good phone simply because it needs a new battery.
Etradesupply nexus 5 batteries are fake. I got 2 of them and they are fake so I got full refund plus shipping from PayPal and still kept batteries but have not install them.

This is OEM LG battery supplier in US, bit expensive by original.
This is the one I just installed: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...true&ref_=ox_sc_act_title_1&smid=AUJEVHB99RGQ
It seems to be tracking the battery temperature too. So far so good!

Are you sure that is the correct battery? It is expensive, but I'll pay it if it's OEM and not some ripoff.

Isn't it suppose to say Samsung Galaxy S4 on the bottom? Or is that just the US Version ?
$14.99 So expensive.. TT
The Galaxy Nexus is like $4-6.

The galaxy s4 branding is just on the US version. I dont have that on my handset purchased here in india.
I found this that's a little cheaper and it's brushed aluminum. According to the review it doesn't work with NFC so if you use NFC I would say to keep searching.

OEM...from hong kong. doubtful. I hate how these people get away with this on eBay.
been looking for one myself for when my verizon S4 gets here. want to get rid of that verizon branded door but Im looking for the one that says Galaxy SIV on the back. they have a bunch of ebay but you can tell they arent OEM because the font is completely off
I found this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Battery-Bac...e_Replacement_Parts_Tools&hash=item3cd17ccae9
I am going to order and report back when it arrives.
Alright. I'm thinking of waiting maybe 2 weeks, that way the price drops a little. Only reason why I'm getting a new battery door is that my new one.. Sorta dented.. :|

i agree, bought a similar OEM door for my S3 and every 2-3 days a letter would fall off from the Samsung. def not true OEM, people should report them but they dont so ebay dont have any ground on blocking those listings

I ordered one white and one black, I got both color S4 phones but the white is going back, has some defects I'm not happy with, keeping my Black 32gb.
gonna order the Google'ized S4 in white next month.
but on topic, I ordered on these covers from a seller on ebay "money saver" for $15+1.25 shipping, there are cheaper sellers but I'm doubtful. usually you get what you pay for. Been to Hong Kong many times, not every thing is fake, usually just the really cheap stuff is.
Im also trying to find an oem back cover.. so i can get rid of the carrier brabding in the back. I want my phone to look as clean as possible .. the only thing i found was a full housing replacement. But i dont need all that. And is almost 40 dollars

I looked at buying that case, but the shipping price is obscene. It's not like I live in a jungle or anything either, just plain old Florida. They wanted to charge me $18.99 for standard 3-5 business day shipping.

I'm always wary of non-OEM batteries. There are some good ones out there, but most of them are Chinese junk that burn out quickly. My theory has always been that if a single OEM battery doesn't last long enough for you, buy a second OEM battery and keep it charged for a quick swap. The Nexus Extended battery fits the Skyrocket and extends battery life by, in my experience, 20-25% depending on usage. With two of those, you're set for a day and a half of heavy usage before a charge is needed--and that's assuming you don't have a charger for whichever one isn't being used anyway.
Battery Monitor Widget Pro now suggests I'm getting 1700mAh or less, should I replace the battery? If so, pay someone or do it myself? I've heard it's pretty simple to do it myself.
Its very doable. If youre up to it, i read in another thread today that when replacing your battery you should be careful because it might be glued down hard, try to avoid straining the original battery.
According to a couple reviews from Google, replacing the battery is quite easy. A rule of thumb would be to get a battery pulled from a new device since I don't think Google sells manufactured Nexus 4 batteries because it's "non-replaceable". Just be careful and follow a guide on Youtube.

Google doesn't sell batteries, nor do they make phones. The Nexus 4 is made by LG, and the battery is available from many sources, brand new, OEM. Not "pulled from a new device". That's just absurd. Same battery the Optimus G uses. Don't pay more than $20 or so.
Are those values from Battery Monitor Widget Pro reliable? Because mine is showing ~1500 mAh

LG*. My mistake. However, I have searched for batteries for the Nexus 4 that are claimed to be "OEM" and according to reviews they never hold a full charge that a battery from out-of-the-box would hold. Apparently they are just listed as "OEM" and "New", but either have already been used or of poor build quality. Getting a battery "pulled from a new device" off eBay has proven for me for other devices to be much more reliable at holding a longer charge. I can see why it might be risky or slightly unreasonable, but I don't think that it is absurd.

I wish they were were. Because on my phone, that app reads my battery as having 2099000mAh. Apparently the OEM battery I got off eBay is actually powered by Uranium 238. Too bad the real world usage doesn't confirm that theory.

Finding a Nexus4 good quality battery is a real challenge in my experience. The one currently in my nexus4 is supposed to be an OEM, but obviously it is not (*very* poor battery life). I contacted LG and they tell me that I cannot get this part from LG, they don't sell it
If anyone has tips, I would be very grateful

Seems better than mine... I definitely need a replacement... And I am morally opposed to simply replacing the whole phone frequently, due to the resources required like rare Earth's and tantalum.

As much as I hate to admit it, I don't think we will. Our phones battery is not removable and it was never intended by LG for it to be replaced. Which means that the only batteries we are gonna get is dodgy ones probably. The last thing I need is buying an 'original', battery and waking up the next morning to find a burnt hole where my phone once was :good:

Well, I just replaced my battery with this one: http://www.amazon.de/Akku-BL-T5-Goo...8&qid=1412345320&sr=8-1&keywords=nexus+4+akku
I am sorry, that the page is German - but you can see, that the selling shop is the official LG Electronics Shop on Amazon
thought these phones use a polymer battery which has a very high charge and discharge cycle.
You can try checking your local LG service center if they have it. That is where I got mine for about $25, but I'm in Thailand though so YMMV.
hey guys i bought a nexus 5 second hand it looked like its been used alot - the battery doesnt seem to hold up great
do you guys think its worth replacing the battery? it looks easy has anyone else done it recently i know after like 600 charges the battery life takes a massive hit - the phone was released 1 year ago so may have gone through approx 400 charges...
Yes its worth it as long as you have some experiences with small devices. Anyway, first make sure you buy the right battery. There are tons of videos on YouTube on how to replace the battery. Watch it couple times.
From my experience, remember to take your time and do not rush it. Sometime it can become frustrating when you can't get open certain part. If you can't, take a break, come back to it after couple hours. Good luck.
I doubt your battery life has anything to do with the battery...
See the battery help thread in my signature for help and tips on that. First 4 posts are important. ?
If you have an issue, or its your usage.... You'll be disappointed when you get your new battery for sure.
---------- Post added at 09:49 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:48 AM ----------
Anyway, my point is, I'd rule everything else out first... Before spending money and dismantling your device.
I am definitely replacing my battery, but for anyone that has done it, where can we buy one?
There are tons of places that have them for sale but can anyone with experience recommend where we can guy a genuine one?
Thank you!
