Rooting is not mandatory. But most important [since you are in official rom] is to install custom recovery first to be able to flash custom roms that are rooted.

I tried all the Room and finally return back to stock. ..but root leave. ..the device it's too much faster stock.

[Q] Need help rooting Galaxy S Duos S7562

I have a Samsung Galaxy S Duos GT-S7562 and I'm really sick of it lagging all the time despite having very less apps. I'm planning on rooting the phone and need some guidance. Another headache with the phone is that all apps and games HAVE to be in the internal memory (which is only 2GB).
Also, what can I do once I have rooted the phone? Can I get Jellybean for it? It's currently on ICS 4.0.4
Bump topic.
use superoneclick for root
Do I have to unlock bootloader first? Is there any way of doing this without voiding my warranty?

Hi, you can successfully root your device using unlock root pro, I have done so. you don't need to unlock bootloader or do anything, just connect your phone to pc and click on root option that's it. after rooting you can install custom ROMs of your choice. for further help you can search this forum.
Which custom ROM would you suggest? Also, is it possible to get Jellybean after rooting? What all do I need to backup before rooting?

Basically what I want is smooth and lag free functioning. Which ROM would be best for this purpose? Do I have to install anything else?
Ok so I installed clockwork recovery superuser 3.1.3. What do I do next? Which ROM should I install now? Is there a way to get Jellybean for my phone?

I installed KyleRom v3.4 and it lagged a lot. Whenever I tried to open an application like Browser, it crashed even thought I had cleared the cache as well as the dalvik cache. Is there any other alternative ROM I can try?

Since I'm unable to solve the problem and not getting any support here, I've planned to sell the phone and get a Lumia 520.

GT-P3110

Hello
I am new to Galaxy to Galaxy Tab
I want to root my GT-P3110 on 4.2.2 Samsung Stock
how do I do this
Sent from my GT-P3110 using xda app-developers app
hi, you can root your tablet by installing a custom recovery (like clockwork mod) and then installing cf auto root, that way you will have your stock firmware rooted. However i strongly recommend you to install a custom rom. Stock firmware comes preloaded with a lot of useless apps that occupymemory(ram and storage). If you install a custom rom your 3110 will feel more light and there is no need to root as they come already rooted. I have installed cyanogen mod in my 3110 and im 100% satisfied. Also best guide i ve found is the official cyanogen http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_p3110
remember if you install a custom rom "Rooting the stock firmware is neither recommended nor necessary."
Thanks mate

Instead of sticking to android 4.2.2, I recommend u to install 4.3 Roms like hellfire, slimbean etc,,,they are rooted by default and comes with lots of features that doesn't come on stock ROM,,stock based 4.2.2 lags a lot,,,and gaming performance is excellent in these 4.3 based ROMs, but as suggested by @katsika you gotta have custom recovery like CWM installed

Hi. Now, i use a stock rom. I rooted the rom and flash this bloat remover in cwm. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2566123
Also this rom its good http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2507772 , but i prefer stock.

I've been running TWRP http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2503063 along with SEAL ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2486388.
Noticed a considerable performance increase over other ROMs. Not having Touchwiz or any other Samsung apps is also a big bonus for me.
Just an FYI, these threads aren't allowed on xda.

The best rom is the one YOU like best. Flash and find out.
We all have different needs and tastes....its a silly question to ask others to decide what's best for you.

It is your tab so you have to do a little testing to find the one that you like the best.
IMO, S.E.A.L. with the blackhawk kernel and CWM works wonderful for me.

For some reason this device never got the attention that others did. As such all rooms are based off stock. Your best bet is to root it and install Titanium Backup. Then remove all the boatware with it.
I'm running Rocket Tab Rom on mine and have been happy with it.

I've been running Rocket Tab Lite v3.1. The lite version doesn't have the Samsung stuff. I have had a very good experience with it. I also flashed the Blackhawk kernel.

Hi,
Is there anyway to flash this rom but to stay woth the same stock Theme?
The device is gonna be used with a non-tech person.
Thanks
I see no real difference from stock. This is not like a Cyanogenmod build, it still has the look of Touch wiz. Mainly it just has the Samsung apps removed. I have noticed a great improvement in both performance and battery life with the Rocket Tab ROM.

My advice is until there's more options.....root, get titanium backup and freeze a crapload of bloat...especially all the Samsung stuff, greenify and battery and smoothness are as good as it gets I think.

I tried the Rocket Tab guide and I flashed the PhilZ Touch recovery from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2468441
Which had a link to this page (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2653391 )
I flashed this recovery:
philz_touch_6.19.3-lt02wifi.zip
Then I tried to flash the Rocket ROM and I got an error and now the device stucked on Samsung logo.
Attached a photo shows the error.
Please help. Thanks

Root for KitKat AT&T

Is there root for AT&T 4.4?
No there is not but in the at&t thread there is already a way so you can be rooted and have custom recovery

Yes.

There is no way to root kitkat on any device without either unlocking the bootloader or reverting to a root able build of Android first.
Flashback
I've been looking into rooting the D80020 and I think you have to flash back to D80010 (for ATT) then you can root and (possibly) update to Kit Kat. I haven't done it yet but planning on it soon.
I just did that 2 days ago. Flashed back to 10d, rooted, flashed twrp with freegee and then flashed stock kk. All told, took me about half an hour. Now I'm rocking rooted kk, couldn't be happier with the phone.

I used the same thing for root. Cant use a custom recovery though, but since I just got the phone yesterday I'm cool with using stock for now.

use ioroot25 to root.
Then install https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=edu.shell.freegee_free and install TWRP.
reboot into recovery and install the rom.
Before doing anything download the rom from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2672931 and copy it to your phone.
