Singular help for a Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S7275R - Samsung Galaxy Ace 3

Hello,
My problem is not common but I hope to find help here. A few months ago my usb chip on my unrooted GT-S7275R stopped working and so it's a few months I charge my battery on an external universal device. Annoying but not critical. The problem began when to increase the graphical abilities I tried to install drivers from chainfire 3d (that I will not do again!). On reboot (and since) I have the "Samsung" written and then black screen! From the discovery menu the wipe cache partition doesn't work so it's not difficult to guess that I have to flash the rom... except I can only do it from sd card... I tried by placing the right zip file of the rom downloaded from here (without unzipping the file since theres a dll in the package I don't know if I should... It says "install /sdcard..." and then nothing... In case It would be due to the fact that the phone is unrooted I tried this method with replacing the files by those corresponding to my device but nor the CMW or the su-busybox worked...
Anyone has any solution? I cannot afford a new phone so I really need this one to work again!
Thanks

[Q] Startup error - installed wrong script

To whom ever can help out, I have a Galaxy Tab 2 7.0, and cannot seem to get my problem resolved by myself. I have somehow inadvertently managed to install an update.zip that had or had no relations to this particular OS of this particular model of android.
My problem is that I wanted to be able to, migrate my apps to the external SdCard or extSdCard, and I think I used an update.zip designed for the cellphone HTC Evo 4g. Not realizing that I will be later unable to use the restore feature from a previous backup I had made using CWM 6.0.1.0 to recover from my inadvertent mistake (not to comfortable making a backup, and thinking I can restore properly anymore, like I can on my cellphone that I am spoiled with).
Silly of me to think I could use an update.zip designed for another type of device such as the HTC Evo 4g, but… (anyway my bad what was I thinking…?). The update.zip, by the way is "dtapps2sd-2.7.5.2-signed", like I mentioned this is clearly designed for the HTC Evo 4g, and not for the Samsung GT2 7.0.
The problem I experience now is not complete lose of my GT2 7.0 device I can still install and change out OS through the CWM-Recovery and install apps through the Android Market. I do however experience the inability to check my Storage properties under my Settings profile. When I attempt to click on this link it pauses for a second as if it wants to open up and perform its normal function, then reports an error "Unfortunately, Settings has stopped". Now at this point this is where I would have to mention another issue similar to this one, and that is at startup. When I first start the device up and it runs through its process of startup configuration. It will then report a list of programs that are prevented from running properly it as follows;
Unfortunately, the process android.process.media has stopped.
Unfortunately, My Files has stopped.
Unfortunately, Factory Test has stopped.
Unfortunately, MTP has stopped.
Now my question is, how is-it possible to resolve this issue. I have tried to complete a fresh install of the OS, CWM-Recovery, and also attempted to wipe everything possible that the recovery will allow, but I am not expecting much, as I cannot even get the backup and restore feature to work efficiently enough to provide me with what I need it to do…
I have provided this post with a download of the update.zip I used as well as the version of the OS I have provided my Samsung GT2 7.0. If anyone can shine some insight on what direction I should attempt to do to resolve this issue I would be more that interested to take a look at what I could use to correct this error of mine…
-Samsung GT2 7.0 - OS (Use the Download link above the Rosewell signature)

-dtapps2sd-2.7.5.2-signed

I might be comfortable to ADB Shell into my device to make changes, or if one was able provide me an update.zip/script that would be great. Also is there a better recovery out there than the ClockWorkRecovery.
Better recovery so you may try twrp or so
Try install a fresh firmware preferably with a pit file from odin pc

Can anyone provide me another one for the GT-p3113...?
Just checking in..., and wondering if anyone has a solution for this...?
Factory reset in stock recovery. So Odin a stock Rom and before u install anything custom, do a factory reset in recovery after u Odin back to stock. Then flash away.
I imagine you have alrdy tried a factory reset using a custom recovery.
WAIT!!! You don't have to factory reset, just reboot into CWM recovery ang go to mounts and storage>wipe internal storage. Confirm and reboot. You will lose anything on the sdcard but your apps will stay.

1. I am all over the Factory resets, and wipes.
2. Already tried Stock Rom(s).
3. I believe my problem is a bootloader, or partitioning script. (As this denies me access from inside settings>storage where I can view my allocated size, and Restore to Factory button. In addition in CWM, I am not allowed to mount/sdcard(internal), extSdCard is ok though. Also, I cannot plug Tab via USB to check contains on Internal or External sdcard, but I can remove the External to transfer data from it via sdcard slot on PC...)
Maybe you can recommend a good Stock Rom, so I can give that ago...
I was in the process last night, and could not get a good connection with Heimdall or Odin. I am now looking into driver issues, so...
Ok, so I was successful in taking RomsWell and MultipleMonomials advice, and was able to return my device back to "Normal" state, including "Stock Recovery". But I still have the original problem as in my request I asked in my first post...

I think now, if I cannot get a sizable remedy..., is just to try and send it in Samsung so they can take a look at it...
Any suggestions...?
FYI; I have also tried connecting to Kies, but due to the inability to posses a "MTP" (Media Transfer Protocol), is the reason I cannot connect to my SdCard & extSdCard. I can "PTP" (Picture Transfer Protocol) into it, using "adb shell", but not using "MTP"...
So I do not know how much "MTP" has to do with this relationship of the other three items that I mentioned in my bullet list in my quote, but...
Anyway, I don't know what I am trying to say, but thank you two, for getting me this far...!

I am not quite confident on how much this will work. As I have tried this multiple times to wipe "Wipe Factory/Data", "Wipe Cache", including all the partitions under the "Advance" section found in CWM Recovery. Even using TWRP Recovery.
Per this post; I just attempted to flash a "Stock Rom", but not before doing a factory/data, cache wipe using "Stock Recovery", including after a successful install...
No luck, the same problem still exist as above...
Ok, this was all just the rudest experience I put my self threw. As I have an HTC Evo 4g - cellphone and have become comfortable with installing ROM's, Kernels, and Updates.zips, as well as, other modification. All threw the Recovery designed for this particular device, and don't get me wrong there has been a couple of times. Maybe more than a couple, more like a few times I have installed incompatible downloads I find in the XDA forums. Which makes this screw up, difficult form me to know that as long as you can get into a Download/Bootloader or a modified Recovery designed for a particular device that was successful flashed correctly. Well the screw up are easily redeemed/recoverable.
So, to make a long story short. After having called Samsung Customer Care (the 1-800-SAMSUNG) number, it seems to have been a External SdCard getting in my way from having been real short from sending my Tab off to the repair department (where ever it is...). I in fact already had it in an envelope, all I needed was an address to send it to. Anyway the nice person on the other side of the phone requested that I remove my External SdCard, and confirm that I was able to get into my "Storage" tab under my settings. Well after success getting this option back, I then made the suggestion that maybe my Eternal SdCard is corrupt or incorrectly formatted. She then agreed maybe this is the case. After ending the phone call. I quickly restarted my Tab, again only to find out that I was no longer receiving the error messages like mentioned above, which is great, because after multiple flashes of "Stock Roms w/Stock Recovery", and forcing myself to believe that it was a system install error. It in fact the External SdCard in place preventing me from throwing my Tab against the wall / in the mail to Samsung Repair Center...
"Man what an ordeal...!!!"
Thanks to all that helped with the suggestions, as to what direction I most defiantly tried.
I am now in the process, since I am living back in Stock mode. To receive an OTA (Over The Air) Update, and am still in the process of seeing if this thing still possess any residual silent errors...
I will keep you posted.
If not, well it off to happy rooting for me...!!!
That is it, my problem is resolved. Damnedest thing this problem of mine, it seems the only thing I screwed up was the micro SdCard. to the point it was the cause of all the error I received when I started up the device, as well as when I attempted to access my storage through me settings options...!!!
Now re-rooted, and a happy camper, Cheers...!

[Q] Bricked my Relay with a build.prop edit

Hi everyone. Long-time reader, first time poster here.
Well, I've gotten myself in a bit of a jam. My Relay is rooted and has CWM 6.0.1.2 running the stock ROM per one of the awesome devs working on this phone. In a bout of zeal, I found a guide for installing Google Wallet on unsupported devices that involved editing the build.prop file to have the device identify itself as another. I dove in head first... My first mistake was not doing a CWM backup and my second mistake was that I backed up the build.prop file to the internal memory rather than the external SD card (seems pretty inaccessible there). After rebooting, the device black-screened after the Relay 4G splash and can only be brought back up by pulling the battery, though it still gets stuck at startup.
I had a look around and found these very similar threads, but they are for the S3:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1895631
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1830191
I can also get into CWM and Odin mode, but Odin3 and adb don't see the device for some reason and CWM doesn't appear useful without a backup. From what I've gathered, the easiest way to recover from this is a flashable zip with the stock build.prop file.
Would anyone be able to make one of those or otherwise bail me out? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Edit: If it helps any, I used ES File Explorer to do this, which apparently doesn't do permissions quite right. I'm not sure if it affects this, but I figured I'd throw it in here anyway.
Bumping in desperation here! Can anyone just paste in their build.prop? I'm on UVLJ1 (haven't had time to do the latest update due to root).
hmm... you should be able to go into download mode and flash the stock rom to recover the phone i think?
I think this is the answer. Flashing stock will give you what you need, it can be done through CWM (gee one's flashable zip for instance).
Wipe system/data through the format menu.
I wish I knew what a build.prop was.
installed it and rebooted my Samsung Relay and the screen went black. I pressed the power button and nothing happened.
The phone is now officially a paperweight. Also I had root privileges.
Can you help me please, I do not know what to do?:crying:

Root and install custom ROMs-Hero H2000+

There are several threads on the subject and I have tried them all. Eventually, I found 1 method that actually works!!!
After it worked I took the 2 roms available for the device today(Default,iOS) and gave them full root permissions with camera working on both and no flickering screen!!!
Code:
First, I would like to point out that the process is not simple and requires the following:
H2000+ device
Windows 7(PREFFERED) or windows XP
About 1 hour
Let's begin the guide!
1.Download the following .rar folder(at the end) and the .zip folder.
2.Extract EVERYTHING except Superuser-3.2-RC3-arm-signed.zip.
3.turn off the phone and remove the battery.
4. connect the phone to the computer(without the battery) via USB.
5.An installation of drivers will start and fail.
6.search for "device manager" on the start menu and open it.
7.You will see a device called "mt65xx Preloader", right-click it and press "update software...".
8.Click on "locate software"/"I have disk"(depends on your OS).
9.browse to where you extracted the Hero-driver.zip and confirm.
10.this should install the drivers-if it didn't send me a PM and I will help you.
11.Unplug the phone, plug in the battery and turn on the device.
12.connect as USB storage and copy the Superuser-3.2-RC3-arm-signed.zip to your SD card(if you don't know which one is your SD card copy the file to both locations).
13.remove the battery, WAIT 10 SECONDS,and plug the phone back.
14.Open the SP Flash tool.
15. click on "Scatter-loading" and locate the scatter that is located at the h2000rootedbootimagenew folder.
16.Click download, wait 5 seconds and connect your phone WITHOUT A BATTERY.
17.It should take a minute and then show you a picture of a green circle, IF IT DIDN'T-YOU DIDN'T INSTALL THE DRIVERS PROPERLY.
18.Disconnect your device, plug in the battery and turn it on.
19.Remove the battery.
20. Click on "Scatter-loading" and locate the scatter that is located at the CWM H2000+ folder.
21.Click "Download",wait 5 seconds and connect your device WITHOUT A BATTERY INSIDE.
22.After it is done(green circle) you should turn on your device.
23.IF THE CAMERA IS NOT WORKING/THE PHONE FLICKERS FOLLOW THE NEXT INSTRUCTIONS, IF NOT-YOU ARE FULLY ROOTED WITH CWM RECOVERY!
23.Download one of the rooted ROMs that I created.
24.place the ROM on your SD Card(if you don't know which one is your SD card copy the file to both locations).
25.In your phone go to "Settings->About phone->Reboot Recovery" and click ok.
26.Use your volume buttons to navigate to "install zip from sdcard->choose zip from sdcard->Superuser-3.2-RC3-arm-signed.zip"(that you put there in the beginning of the tutorial).
27.repeat stage 26 and now choose the rom that you downloaded.
28.After it is done click on "reboot system now".
29.DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
## I uploaded the necessary tools for the installation but if you want the ROMs send me an email to [email protected] and I will give you the links.
### I tested everything myself and I can verify that everything works!
#### I had to split the necessary tools into 4 parts because there is a 8mb limit for uploding.
Good work, they look good, but i have the problem that none of the roms find my SD Card. I have tried all 3 roms but none of them find the sd by data explorer

Work well with IOS IU Rom
Thank you!!!!!
Hello. I've seen you started to make roms for H2000+.
I have a problem with it. It freezes but in a weird way. The screen goes on for ex when I'm in a game, the game keeps running, but the phone does not react to any type of input. Nothing happens when I touch the screen, I can't even shut down the phone, only by removing the battery. It's not rooting or rom problem, bcuz my friend ordered the exact same phone and it still freezes like this. I've seen that many times, it freezes when I try to exit apps, and sometimes just randomly freezes but when it freezes nothing can be done.
Is there a new kernel or something that I can try out so I can see if it will work? Thanks.

Did you try any of my ROMs? I fixed several issues in the kernel such as the usage of the rear camera. I am currently using my ROM (iOS UI-I am currently running the Beta of the update for this rom) I don't have any of the problems you are talking about.
I highly recommend you to install my Default UI ROM.All I have done to the ROM is replacing the kernel and fixing some kernel issues and it is the fastest and most stable ROM of them all.
Please try and then send me an email to [email protected] to tell me if it worked.
Any chance there'll be a JB ROM available soon for Hero H2000+ ?
unfortunatly, this is impossible.

since the kernel source code of the h2000+ hasn't been officialy published it is impossible to create a rom that isn't android 4.0.4 based.

[Stock ROM] CAT B15Q ROM development

CAT has not yet managed to put official stock images or the kernel source code available - even for their oldest phones (even though they are required to)... so here's at least a beginning.
Every firmware archive contains the four partitions UBOOT, BOOTIMG, RECOVERY and ANDROID (/system). These are flashable using spFlashTool, a howto is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help/howto-firmware-flashing-cat-b15q-t2989627.
Please note that these firmware files were dumped from an EMEA B15Q, dual-sim - there are reports of other models being available under the B15Q model name. In doubt, always make a full backup using spFlashTool's readback mode before flashing one of these. (You should be doing these anyway before every firmware upgrade, CAT doesn't test stuff like compatibility with root!)
Credits for the scatter file go to bigal1337. Credits for spFlashTool and the driver package go to Russian website mtk2000.ucoz.ru.

MTK Driver package: http://mtk2000.ucoz.ru/down12/MTKUsbAll_0.9.2.rar
spFlashTool: http://mtk2000.ucoz.ru/down12/SP_Flash_Tool_exe_windows_v5.1420.00.rar
Do note that the drivers appear to be modified Google drivers and thus have no digital signature; you will need a 32-bit system to use them.
Flash mode needed for spFlashTool is achieved by removing the battery, starting the flash/readback in spFlashTool and then plugging in the USB cable. You may put in the battery afterwards.
The recovery, fastboot and factory test methods are entered by shutting down the phone and then:
recovery mode: press power + volup for 2 seconds, then release power, release volup as soon as recovery has booted
fastboot mode: press power + center for 2 seconds, then release power, release volup as soon as recovery has booted
test mode: press power + voldn for 2 seconds, then release power, release volup as soon as recovery has booted
In case that a B15Q or general CAT board is opened (for the B15, B15Q and the flagship S50), I request that this thread is moved into its rightful place. And in case anyone wants to help me with a CyanogenMod port, please PM me.
CWM Recovery
Using mtkdroidtools, I have built a CWM Recovery image to be flashed with spflashtool, all based on 1.022 firmware. There are two variants:
using stock Mediatek USB IDs: https://mega.co.nz/#!FRxxiRSC!EN5gORcYPtFONlH3V8-Yco3_w9RGhE8jevicedlT2kI
using Samsung USB IDs: https://mega.co.nz/#!8MowBZCJ!fhs-mXpGZR36g9JJh3IONIlOKBHIktFBDIrpynlK84M
The difference between them is that recovery #1 uses the same Mediatek USB id's as the stock image (and thus requires the Mediatek drivers in Windows, which sucks because these are not signed), and recovery #2 uses the USB IDs from a Samsung tablet - so you need the Samsung ADB driver instead, which is digitally signed and far more stable than the Mediatek.
Samsung USB ID fix
See above for the reason; the boot.img with Samsung USB IDs is at:
1.022: https://mega.co.nz/#!gcREQJKD!FCrxl9-PWSWM0_2Nh9D1KeA-zFV4nS9dmd6zjVnqPLc
Hybrid SD Card
And the CWM Recovery + boot.img for those who want to try out the "hybrid SD card" from http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help/howto-external-sd-card-internal-storage-t2989650, the two images of 1.022 are here:

With or without the SD hack? Try putting the SD card into a Windows machine, chkdsk the fat32 partition. Then plug it into a linux machine and run e2fsck on the data partition.

I tried the sd hack. There was a problem with my sd card partitions... but i reformated it with partition magic and now it works like a charm. No lag or anything.
Better than i was thinking
Greatings!
after one week
OKAY,
after one week of usage my phone became laggy and unstable.
Maybe this is because of my sd card but.... its 10class, i dont know
So i reflashed with the original partitions and now its fast and stable
Custom Rom
Will there be any possibility to create a Lollipop rom for this device?
proximity sensor problem
Do someone have the problem with the proximity seonsor that i have? There is a screen turning on immediately after turning of when the phone is placed next to my head when i am calling. This leads to a lot of changes in settings and everything that my face is changed durring the phone call.
I tried a lot of apps from play store that "fix" the problem but... they work not on 100% proper.
The sensor is working at 100% i have checked it already.
Please give me suggestions because its very annoing!!

I had the same problem. CAT support told me to reset the phone to factory. I tried a lot of other things but only the factory reset helped me. My sensor was also working correctly, I also tried several Apps to chack this.
Give it a try. I know it's a lot of work, but it was (in my case) worth it. I changed the time an date settings with my face which lead to missed alarms and oversleeping

Give it a try. I know it's a lot of work, but it was (in my case) worth it. I changed the time an date settings with my face which lead to missed alarms and oversleeping

CAT B15 help
Hi guys, i'm sorry i have to ask this in this forum but i've been asking for a couple of months now, and got no answer. I have a CAT B15 (not the B15Q). It is single sim version (IMEI write on the back) and i managed to do plenty of things in it. I swapped memory and worked fine, and even i installed a Dual Sim android rom and i managed to use the secondary Sim bay in it (that was tapped with a plastic fake sim) and used the phone with 2 sims for like 2 weeks. Then i started to play with deodex and build.prop and softbricked the phone, but it was piece of cake since it is easy to unbrick. The problem was that i wrongly flashed the phone with scatter file, and flashed all partitions in it, EBR1, MBR, UBOOT, etc, etc. The result was a non-working dual SIM phone. Everything works, but the SIMS, it does not detect any SIMs in it, in any of the SIM bays, and the IMEIs are wrong numbered. I did no buckup of the phone so i'm pretty screwed. I've been asking for someone to upload the EMEA_SS or US_SS ROM for the CAT B15, but nobody responded. I thaught maybe the CAT B15Q has a similar software/bands flashing partitions, but that i leave to you for answer. Anyway, if any of you has the possibility of taking the images of a single sim CAT B15 it would save me this awesome phone for me. I'm also willing to give a 20GB account of ownCloud server for 1-year free of charge if storage space is needed, no problem. This are the links i've been searching and asking.

[Completed] invalid OTA package missing scatter when trying to flash a zip file

Hi,
First of all, I am new to the android community and I hope that you will understand that I am writing as a noob.
I'm having an issue with my Chinese smartphone POMP W88A. It was a brand that was making smartphones, but it seems they have stopped producing phones. The phone is running on JB 4.2.2. It is running on MTK6589 processor. Kernel version is 3.4.5. Screen resolution is qHD (960x540). This phone seems like a Galaxy S4 clone. It has touchwiz installed, or I assume that it is touchwiz, even though it wont support the Accuweather S4 widget and other Samsung apps. What I was trying to do - I was going to install the Touchwiz launcher and the Accuweather widget from this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2259228
It seems that it supports a large number of devices. However, when I rebooted into recovery and tryed to install the zips, I got an error message: Installation aborted. I googled a bit and found that some recoveries demand the zip files to be signed. I signed the zip files, rebooted again into recovery, and this time, the installation started, the progress bar started filling and suddenly it aborts the installation with this error message: "Invalid OTA package missing scatter". I tryed to google how to fix that problem, but I am unable to find a solution. There are some topics on this matter regarding the flashing of ROMs, but I just wanted to flash the launcher and the widget. I also found a topic saying that it might be because the Recovery demands Busybox to be installed, so I also installed Busybox, but the problem is still there. I also tried installing other recoveries via Mobileuncle Tools, but none of them worked, so I swithched back to the factory one, which is called Android system recovery 3e. Anyone have any clue how I can fix this? If there is a way to install zips without rebooting into recovery, I could try that, but I dont know if that is possible.
Here's the link for my phones ROM, maybe it could help you out to understand my issue:

Thanks in advance. I would appreciate anyone's help.

Hi and thank you for using XDA Assist
About your problem, Chinese copies are not the best choice....
The error which appear to you it's cause also for the fact that you need a custom recovery for it like TWRP or CWM.
If you are able to get root access on your phone you could simply decompress the flashable zip and then push to system the files to their respective folders.
Other ways i couldn't find.
But for futher assistance i suggest you to head over here: Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Yeah, I know they are not very stable. I was wondering something: when I reboot into recovery, I dont have an option called Install zip from SD card, like many other recoveries I saw on Youtube have. I only have Apply update from SD Card, Apply update from Cache and Wipe partition data. Maybe that option "Apply update from SD card" that I was trying is ment for installation of ROMs and flashing updates. Im just guessing... So, how could I install CWM? I already checked the TWRP website, but ofc I couldn't find my device on their list. CWM, however, I don't know how it works. About pushing the apks into system/app - I already tried pushing various launchers into system/app and changing permissions, but none of them worked. Last one bricked my phone, so I reflashed the ROM via SP flash tool. Now its working smoothly, but on the other hand, I payed this phone pretty cheap, and I would love to customize it and learn something new about customizing
