I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 and when I try one click root apps it does not work. It keeps saying that root failed. I tried nearly 15 to 20 one click root apps.I was previously rooted but somehow my phone got unrooted for some reason. I tried to use my computer but it also does not work. I think that some file was deleted but I don't know. So is there anyway to fix this? My device model number is gt-i9505.

Some tools like CF Auto Root should work better.

The list there is very outdated.... I've rooted a lot devices that weren't on that list. Just give it a try it won't bite.

First you should install a custom recovery and do a backup.
Download TWRP
There's a custom rom for your device but it sounded complicated....
Download Xposed framework if you wanna customize your device!
ENJOY :good: :highfive:
Hey so the new lollipop update came out for the s4 and I tried downloading it but it didnt work because I was rooted. I tried unrooting but it was the wrond file and after it would only launch in some weird mode where the device told me I need to update in kies. So I tried to update in kies but then it failed and said this (POSTED PICS OF WHAT IT SAYS BELOW). Please help I have no idea what to do. Is there any way I can factory reset my device?

Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. Could you tell us what variant of the S4 you have, i337,i9500, etc. You can't see it in the pics you posted. That'll help point you in the right direction. But in general you're going to have to flash the stock firmware in Odin.

Yeah but I cant seem to find the stock os for my device. Everyone I try fails and comes up with a 224,1440 error.
OP, try sammobile. com for stock firmware. You can also ask your question here where the experts on your device reside, http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-verizon/help Also see this, http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-verizon

Hi,
The update file can be downloaded but can not be installed. The phone is rooted and then unrooted. The SmartSwitch is also useless. There is no 5.1.1 Turkish rom when you search from Google.
Thanks

well you were right i tried searching for a way for your model. but no where to be found. as for me i was able to update successfully with smart switch program.
Any other idea? Thank you.
Try this:
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/50356/G920FXXU2BOFO_G920FOLB2BOFF_XID/
At the end of the baseband version code there should be letters "FJ".
At the end of the build number code there should be letters "FL"
Model number is also incompatible.
OTA update is your best bet but you rooted your phone. Wait for sammobile to post 5.1.1 specific to your device.
I got the J7 (USA Tmobile) with MM. How do I install Nougat and root it?

By putting xda in the google search you limit your results to stuff in XDA - generally a good idea.
But you are already at the J7 forum, and now you know your model number.
You will find some useful guide info here, though I don't know if yours is a 700F. There will be similarities. Guides are always a good place to start!
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-j7/how-to/how-to-root-twrp-install-xposed-t3328580
I believe the next step for you is to flash TWRP because TWRP then allows you to backup your stock, and to flash ROMs.
maybe you need to start here, if the guide above didn't help:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-j7/j700t-development/recovery-galaxy-j7-sm-j700t-t1-t3560342
There are warnings in there about having stock on hand. Make sure you do.
Unfortunately I can not help you further because it talks about flashing with Odin.
But you are in the correct forum for asking questions, so go for it!
Good luck!
Asking questions and being nice to people will get you about anywhere! That's how I approach any new phone.
