[Q] S6 - 5.1.1 installation problem - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
The update file can be downloaded but can not be installed. The phone is rooted and then unrooted. The SmartSwitch is also useless. There is no 5.1.1 Turkish rom when you search from Google.
Thanks

well you were right i tried searching for a way for your model. but no where to be found. as for me i was able to update successfully with smart switch program.

Any other idea? Thank you.

Try this:
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/50356/G920FXXU2BOFO_G920FOLB2BOFF_XID/

At the end of the baseband version code there should be letters "FJ".
At the end of the build number code there should be letters "FL"
Model number is also incompatible.

OTA update is your best bet but you rooted your phone. Wait for sammobile to post 5.1.1 specific to your device.

Samsung Firmware: I9505XXUHPK2 (BTU) now available for download

Hi,
Today my i9505 (stock) notified of an update available for download (392.94 mb OTA)
Would updating make my S4 difficult to flash? currently on I9505XXUHOJ2 could not find any information on what's new/changed in the update.
Also is the OTA update ok or do I need to update using the Odin method as the below linked site suggests & so do most of the past firmware update posts on xda?
Smart Switch says the file size is 1458 mb
I dont mind following either way to update my S4.
Ref: samsung-firmware.org
Thanks!
oh boy, it is still 5.0.1
not shure if I go to try this, the last one has a bug on my phone, don´t know, it was maybe the settings and back button bug.
but also 5.0.1 is maybe to outdated?

Anyway, I have downgraded my stock rom to Jelly Beam (via sammobile.com). After this, I can easily handled the root and the custom rom install processes (resurrection remix).

Did you ever get this fixed? What kind of bootloop were you in? Did it say "Android is starting... Optimizing app XX of XX."?

No, not yet. And when i start up the phone, and all it does is show a black screen with a samsung logo and stays that way.
Try entering recovery (Vol up+Home+Power), see if it says there on the bottom something like DM Verity failed.
If it does and the phone was rooted before (Knox something else than 00 in DL mode), just flash CF autoroot for your model, or some other kernel for your model, you can find it here or google it.
If it does and phone is stock (Knox 00), I would try Authorised Samsung repair shop, and ask them to fix it in warranty.
Thank you I have recently fix my phone. Thanks for everyone's help.

Download this file it's kinda big because it's a stock firmware. https://1drv.ms/u/s!AtUOJHO1Ks7cgTeMnlD2_XOPr1xT and there should be 4 files in it and you put these files into Odin. And in the beginning of the file names should be like AP,BL,CP and CSC. Once you put the right files in the right place click start and it should fix the problem.

Android Nougat (NRD90M test-keys ?) and Smart key

Hi Everyone,
I have some troubles with my Honor 8. I installed new OTA update using Firmaware Finder (FRD-L09C432B360). I installed both packages, big on ~2.2 Gb and also some battery fix update ~200Mb. I don't why, but my build number is NRD90M test-keys now. And also Smart key is not working now.
So i have few questions regarding my problems:
Is build number problem ? Will i receive new official OTA updates?
Do you know, why smart key is not working ? I tried to write own android application to handle this button, but system not even receive event from this button. Do you have some solution for that ?
I found new OTA update in Firmware Finder B380. Is this update fix bugs mentions above ?
Thank you for advice and help .
This is not normal and I don't think B380 will fix it for you. I suggest you roll-back to MM using the official roll-back package and either update via standard OTA or trigger the update with Charles method.
Hi sysak,
thank you for your answer. Maybe stupid question, but how can i roll back to MM ? Could you please send me some tutorial ? I am newbie in this topic.
Thank you
If you contact Honor live chat via you Hicare app they will give you instructions.
I think that the role back downloads are on this site

Yes, follow the link from johnhux7. Download the 73mb rollback package and flash it with the instruction in the attached PDF. Then do the same thing with the 1.75gb C432B131 software from the same website and you'll be good.

Update doubt!

Hi mates, I have a p20 and currently I am on EML-L09 8.1.0.135(C40), and I have seen in firmware finder that there is a version of Android Pie that my telephone supports EML-L09C40E6R1P11B239 (9.0.0.239) I want to install it but through the methods of firmware finder I haven´t been able to get it( dns, proxy ). Is there any other way of installing the firmware? I have it on my computer. My bootloader is locked. Thanks in advance.

Hi!
Afaik FirmwareFinder only supports Androidd 8.0 not 8.1. But I had the same problem and the final solution was pretty surprising. At first I called the Hotline to "accelerate" the update. That's a method that can be applied by Huawei 8 weeks after the rollout of a new version. They promised that I would receive the update within 2-4 week. Nothing happend. So I continued searching the web and stumbled about one tipp. "Change your Sim-Card."
Yeah, sure, that can't be the reason, I thought. But after 2 more weeks I ordered a Prepaid-Sim, replaced my normal one, rebooted and here they were! 3 Updates in a row straight to Pie. I shared my solution on a small german forum and it worked for 3 other guys as well.
It's possible that I'm totally, totally wrong but it's worth a try. Good luck!
thank you very much for answer I would try it asap!!

Sorry, mate. Try to call the Hotline and ask for an acceleration. Maybe they have any further hints.

Galaxy Note 8 Update Question

Hey everyone, I'm relatively new here, so I'm hoping this is the proper section to post my question regarding my Note 8's inability to find an update. It's model number is SM-N950U, and baseband version N950USQS3BRB2 (AT&T). It has the stock 7.1.1 firmware, and it absolutely will not find any firmware updates when I search. It's driving me crazy because my other note 8 is updated to 9, however its screen is cracked to ****. And my old Note 8 is in perfect condition. Any info or tips would be great help. And again, I've tried looking through the forums at firmware links and lists, but I can't find any update files for my specific baseband version. I don't know if that matters or not. Anyways, thanks for anyone's time that helps.

You cannot update from the N950USQS3BRB2 firmware version that's why it's not finding anything. You need to manually update it yourself to the next update version which I think is N950USQU3CRC2 using Odin and then it'll be able to do it on it's own.
Hey Mike whats up bro. My Note 9 does this same thing. Seems that a lot of people with At&t have this issue. My 8 is still on BRK2 rooted, and will stay that way..lol.

Hey what's up brother!! I noticed that too and I think they're messing something up and then when they push the update out it's supposed to see a certain version to update from and if they mess up the version it's supposed to see by typos or something then it just doesn't update and then keeps saying you're on the latest firmware version even though you know you're not lol.. Usually when I run into that problem if you update it yourself to the next version it seems to clear the problem. Personally I don't like updating either because we all know that they're just putting a bunch of junk on the phone in order to make it get slower and slower to make us get annoyed with it and buy a new phone..

Thank you so much for your response. I manually updated it to CRC2 yesterday using ADB. Now it's at version 8. The whole reason I was wanting to update it was because of the PIP feature in 8. Now i just have to get it updated to 9. But it's still not finding an update when I search. So I may have to manually do it again.

Try downloading this version N950USQU4CRD7 and then see if it'll update on it's own.
You are right Mike, sometimes you have to get device on right path before it will process an OTA. Now me I am a little OCD and I would rather use Odin or firmware Science method to update. It's just something about OTA vs connection when updating that gets my OCD...lol
