Camera resolution stays at 6mp after changing modes - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Ive noticed this a few times when changing from auto mode to gif mode and back again, the resolution stays at 6mp even when switching back to auto.
Its very annoying and end up taking a couple of pictures before i realize they have been taken at 6mp.
Anyone noticed or has a work around for this?

[Q] Dead pixel on screen while taking video of fireworks at night

Not sure if anyone notice but if you are taking videos in a dark room or at night there is what appears to be a dead pixel (green dot) just above the center of the phone. However this might be a software issue because I do not see this dead pixel while taking pictures in a dark room in camera mode. But in video mode especially when the settings is at full HD 1080p you can see it clearly. If you set video settings to 960 by 540 then it is less noticeable but still there. Since it doesn't show up on camera mode I believe it could be a software issue. Could someone else try testing to see if they are having this problem also or is it just me. Just go into a dark room or place your hands over the lens and switch to video mode and set it to full 1080p. When you record in the dark you should see the dead pixel during playback. If I'm the only one then I probably need to get a new phone.
It would be incredibly helpful if you could post one more thread in relation to this matter.

[Q] Lumia 800 - Camera error?

The problem when using camera is:
At first, I set "Macro" for the scenes. The first photo captured was a macro one. Then I continued to take other photo, and the second and later ones have no longer been in "macro" mode, although I did not change the scene settings. It was likely captured in "normal" scenes.
There was a simultaneous problem with the "white balance" function. Specifically, at night I set "cloudy" for the white balance. The photo taken had a warmful color, likely normal with "cloudy". But the second and later ones were like in "incandescent" mode.
Thank you so much for any help!
Waiting for better firmware!

Any tips to in low-light shooting?

I find the when I shoot in Superior Auto in low-light, many times there appear a violet / bluish haze on the left side (no flash fired). I find that switching to Night Portrait or Night Mode is too much of a hassle, ESPECIALLY when the conditions constantly change like going to a different place that's brightly lit or going inside a restaurant. Also, these modes tend to have motion blur.
Now I'm thinking of Manual Mode but basically got the same results as Superior Auto (probably. I'm just not good at tinkering with the settings).
Any tips?
Thanks!

In night conditions only use switching ISO settings, exposure and white balance.
For examle, when it has blueish scene turn the white change white balance to one in the midle if the list, and you will got more reallity look of scene you photographing. Also ISO settings dont go over 800 and you can sometimes change exposure ti minus to get a less noise.Try with those settings and you can get ok images.

Camera slow-motion buggy

Hi.
Since the first time I tried to make a slow-motion video, I notice that the camera can't capture enought light, like it's always in the dark, but the regular photo/video works great.
The next day instead, one time when I open the camera app a toast appeared: "unknown error" and the camera wasn't open; in the second attempt instead it worked normally, even the slow motion video.
But sometimes, the 480fps video are "laggy", and sometimes not.
I'm pretty sure, at this point, that is a software problem. I already tried to delete the app's data, but nothing changed. Anyone have this problem too?
All high speed cameras ever made, especially stupid high framerate ones like 1000FPS+ (just gets worse the faster they get) needs bright light. You're not going to be shooting high framerate video on any device in dim lighting situations any time soon unfortunately.
Maybe turn on the improvement program data sharing if you want help with the errors, that would most likely be something the phone sends info to Oneplus about.
Already enabled. The bright problem in the slow-motion wasn't the low light itself, because I tried outdoor in the day, full of light. This disappeared after a while, but I can't replicate anymore. Have no idea.

Photo Pro Settings

I'm just curious about how people use Photo Pro. When I turn on Photo Pro, it goes directly to Shutter Speed mode. I have auto-focus continuous on, focus area wide, and meter area multi. I initially shoot with single-exposure and only move to continuous shooting as needed. Flash is off, white balance is auto, Auto HDR and D-'Range Optimizer are off. I have the histogram turned on.
I'm curious about your starting point and any observations you have on my parameters.
Might have to look under settings and see what it says under there like last mode or something
Thanks. I have that one set to open in Photo Pro on last mode used. It opens to "S-Mode", shutter speed priority.
