Watching youtube frequently makes the tablet Freeze and restart itself. The tablet (running andriod 5.1.1) only has this problem with YouTube. And apps like heartstone runs just fine. Ive tried swapping back and forth with nuplayer, clearing cache and restarting the app but it has the same problem. Worth noticing is IF i uninstall all uppdates the YouTube app has, the tablet seems to work just fine. However i lose out on being able to download videos to later watch offline and so forth. Any suggestions or answers to what might help me fix this problem?
Hi,
Thanks for using XDA Assist.
It seems that this bug is caused by YouTube itself as explained here.

I have a Galaxy S3 i747 running AOKP 4.2.2. I've tried Google Play Music, Omich Player, Android Music Player, and PowerAmp. Whenever I do anything on my phone while listening to music, it skips for a second or two. By this I mean locking or unlocking it, opening an app, and sometimes doing something within an app. Its really obnoxious and is seriously ruining my enjoyment of this phone. My ROM has an overclock function, so I tried forcing the processor to go to 1.6gHz at all times, but that didn't fix it. It also has an SD card read ahead function, but even setting that as high as 4000kb had no effect. This happens whether there's zero or a dozen apps in the background. Sometimes clearing the apps cache and force closing it followed by restarting the phone helps. Also, sometimes switching to another music player whip fix it for a while before that one starts skipping too.
Is there any solution to this? I've seen other people with this problem but they either never resolve it or the solution that works for them doesn't work for me.
Perhaps
If you have AntiVirus on your mobile phone. Possible that some programs are not compatible

Nope, no antivirus
I know this sounds crazy but try using headphones with a built-in microphone. I'm almost positive that is how I fixed this issue on an older phone that had the same issue.

Hey everyone
I have the Oneplus One 64GB version, i have have some weird lag.
while a play music or streaming it through my music player (Wimp) my phone lags a lot. the lags is very noticeable when I slide between my home screens and opening and closing apps.
The same things happens when i chromecast Youtube videos or Netflix to my TV.
My last phone was the Nexus 5 and it didn't have any lag at all while doing these things.
Anyone ells have this problem? I searched this forum and others but couldn't find anything on these problems.

Thank you for your post, but i'm pretty sure that this is not a wifi issue. The lag is there when i play music and not connected to a wifi.
I recently had a problem with YouTube videos freezing on my Galaxy S5. It would play for around 30 seconds and the video would freeze but the audio would continue, and if you moved the slider it would correct the issue temporarily(another 30 seconds or so). I did a little googling to find the cause and the only thing I found that solved the problem was disabling the ANT Radio Service. This isn't a question or something I really need help with unless someone knows how to fix it without disabling the ANT Radio Service, I just wanted to get this info out to anyone else having the problem.

Had a similar problem some weeks ago that self corrected after a few days - guessing it was a network problem. I was not using ANT.
I have the exact same issue. I have had to revert back to the original version of youtube again. It wasnt doing it for a while but then an update borked it up again.
I get this problem when I change the video to 1080p.
I got the same problem on my SM-G906K and SM-G900F
Hi folks, my apologies if this is a known issue but i'm asking as the amount of info is monumental. Have been having a playback issue for a while now but i need to get to the bottom of it and was hoping someone here may shine some light on it. As the title says youtube play back is pretty poor. I have a rooted Tf101 running KatKiss 4.4.4 with the latest youtube version and constantly get stutters freezes and buffering. Thought it might be my Wifi but with my phone (LG G3) i have no such problems. Have tried clearing cache and app data, reinstalling and even older versions but with no luck. I have also tried overclocking with no luck, so am i wasting my time and this will never work properly or is there something i am missing. Again thanks for any help offered.
You need to lower the quality to 480p or use an older version.
Search forum for the latest version that works.
Will try it at a lower res first, thanks. Seems to do the trick but noticed that the 480p setting has gone. It's either 360p which is terrible or 720 which appears to be to much. 480 was good middle ground, (still shows on my G3) which is the same YouTube version. Any ideas on how I can get it back?
Was present a few days ago but now its gone.
Hello,
I have a same problem on Katkiss 5.1 (23).
Any idea ?

Decided to go back to KK because its still faster then Lollipop and after formatting data and system YouTube is working great in 720p.
Pretty odd, no?
I recently installed a Nougat ROM (Specifically this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/orig-development/wip-aosp-nougat-nexus-5-t3446875) and after I did the youtube app has started acting up. Now after about a minute of video playback the video freezes, but the audio keeps playing. This happens for all videos and I can't find a way to make it stop. Before anyone asks...
-Yes, I tried flashing the file from the FAQ section of the post that contained the ROM.
-It isn't an internet problem. I've used the same internet for years and nothing's changed. It's been fine up till now (For reference, I'm getting 8mgps down and 28 up atm)
I use YouTube on my phone a lot, so getting this to work is important to me. Thank you for any help you give and for your time.

I had a similar issue. Try either updating it or downgrading the app. Downgrading worked for me

I tried this. Sadly, it didn't work. I've since switch to AOSPA and everything is fine over there. I'll come back around when this ROM is further developed.
I have the same issue, you could fix it?
