Hi, there is an update available for CM13 and I don't know how to install it. I've heard I need to flash it using a custom recovery (I use TWRP) but do I also need to clear the dalvik and cache? Will this uninstall my apps?
The first thing that you need to do is download latest build and Gapps then for optimal performance wipe everything (caches, system, data).
After that put these files in your sdcard then boot into TWRP and then install it zip as usual.

will that uninstall my apps? What if I don't wipe everything, will I need to still flash gapps?

How do I do that? (P.S. is doing a dirty update dangerous? Like, is there a chance of bricking my device?)

U have to download latest ROM via CM updater and click "apply update" or something like that (my phone is on german so I don't know how it's named on other languages). Then your phone automatically restarts into recovery, performs all the steps automatically and also reboots automatically.
I always do dirty updates and never faced any issues!

I would prefer a clean install (download ROM and GAPPS; reboot into recovery; wipe data, system, cache and dalvik cache; flash ROM and GAPPS; reboot)! On this way u will "lose" your apps but userdata (e. g. photos) is still there!

Do the described above without wiping data (but that could fail). But remember: You're coming from another ROM so wiping data is recommended!

Are you clearing cache and performing factory/data wipe reset as it sounds like your trying to install it on an older version of Android
Thanks for your response, TechMinerUK!
No, I haven't performed factory/data wipe reset and yes, I was in fact trying to install it on an older version of Android (2.3.x.x). If you are sure that I'm required to perform a factory/data wipe reset prior to installing [ROM][4.4.4] CyanogenMod 11.0 [NIGHTLY/OTA], I will give it a try tonight.

Hi,
i searched many threads here on xda to find a solution, but nothing works. I tried different recovery versions of twrp, cwm(philz) and the official cyanogenmod version.
I tried to flash it with sideload.
I think the problem is only with Lollipop ROM, cm-bacon-XNPH38R.zip he was able to flash.
I added a screenshot where the error happens.
I hope you guys can help me, please tell me if you need any more information?
And sorry for my bad english. ^^

It looks like you're not wiping fully (system, data, cache, dalvik cache) before flashing.
Are you using multirom? That error is common if the updater-script file isn't multirom compatible

Why did you say you'd done a full wipe when you hadn't? It's incorrect information like that that makes troubleshooting difficult. [emoji52]
Yes, wiping data makes a huge difference. Of course it does, you're leaving incompatible data behind, even if the flash succeeded you'd have bugs galore. You're supposed to do a full wipe (system, data, cache, dalvik cache) when you flash a new ROM.

Flashing is failing complete and i thought wiping data makes no difference in the flash progress. When the flash progress finishes i wanted to do a full wipe of data. If i wipe data, does it delete the content on the simulated sdcard(internal storage) too or only the app data?

No it doesn't touch your personal data, only app data and settings. Still doesn't answer why you said you'd wiped data when you hadn't.

Either flash the latest TWRP zip file I believe its upto 2.8.6.0, or simply download the TWRP manager app from the play store and install it that way. Once installed just boot into Recovery and flash CM12s
Use clockwork work mod unofficial v6.0.4.8. Working.or else use liquid smooth nightly

Hello Guys i recently i found an official supported rom for hima ul on mokee webiste would like to share it here. The rom is based on android 7.1.2 It is fully stable and can be used as a daily driver
UPDATE: 2017-5-1
Rom has been updated to nougat
Download
IF YOU HAVE STATUS 6 OR 7 ERROR IN TWRP NOTE: open the downloaded rom zip and open the following file located in
x.zip/META-INF/com/google/android/update-script
and remove the following line to avoid errors in TWRP
"Assert(hima.verify_sbl1("1.2.50.1.36") == "1");"
happy flashing :good:
I tried this rom and loved it. But after some weeks my phone only show black screen and does not reboot. Don't know if mokee causes the failure. Or if it was a hardware issue. I think the second.
I got a brandnew m9 phone and use another nougat rom.
And yes. Mokee 60.1 is Android 6 and cam works.

Same here. I used it some time ago. So I cannot show screenshots.
Give it a try. Make a nandroid backup before, so you can switch back easily, if you don't like mokee.
Advice for you: I had to make changes in updater script before flashing. Without that, twrp gets error by me. Look in Slim7 Rom thread. There is described how to change updater script. You have to delete some words in it.

I'm running the LeeDroid Marshmallow ROM, the exact firmware version I'm not sure of but I can probably find out from the ROM thread if necessary. Android version is 6.0
Make sure your Bootloader is Unlocked
Reboot to Bootloader (Hold Power + Volume down) until you see Fastboot Image
Dowload latest TWRP by Mohancm https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=818070582850498337 copy to ADB folder
Goto your ADB folder (hold shift + right click) open with CMD / Powershell
Type Fastboot boot re (press tab for recovery shortcut)
Press enter don't close your window
In TWRP Allow Modification
Goto to Wipe > Advance wipe > check System/cache/data/internal and swipe to wipe
Don't reboot yet > goto reboot option and choose Bootloader
Goto CMD/Powershell just press Up arrow key and enter
Copy the ROM/GAPPS/MAGISK to you device
Flash ROM
Reboot to Bootloader
Goto CMD/Powershell just press Up arrow key and enter
Flash GAPPS/MAGISK
Reboot to System
Profit!
Great. Much appreciated :good:

Its for the encryption. So if you flash custom roms it doesnt show "data is encrypted" in your first boot. Thats what i've read.

Good day! Never failed to flash the rom in this way, the rollback to the nougat is made, the necessary recovery is loaded - an error 1. Tell me what might be the matter?

why after flash and rebooting to twrp again pation change to B?
why not flash magisk and gapps on same partion with first installation?

-Do not flash it on both slots.
-The reason it switches between A and B, is because the rom gets installed on the second partition and not the partition you are on when you flash it (i think).
-And you can't flash magisk or gapps because, like what i've said before, the rom gets flashed on the other slot.
Im not 100% sure that's how it works, so don't quote me.
I've flashed viperos having no issues. I had flashed nougat firmware before that. Now in order to flash another rom, do I have to flash stock nougat firmware again or is it ok that I just clean wipe and flash new rom?
How to keep twrp, installing a custom ROM.
Always use official twrp:?
https://t.me/XiaomiMiA1ClouD/206
Let's say you are in aokp and want to install Los15.1.
You do it this way...
You do all wipes Data, system, boot, internal.
Next you flash the ROM and last official twrp zip.
Reboot to recovery and flash gapps and magisk.
Reboot to system and enjoy!
:This method is to keep the twrp without having to use the pc:
Tested on last released ROMs.
