Just been trying to install the latest stable build on my Mi4c. Getting my ROM's from Xioami.eu and sMiui. Neither of them will flash successfully.
I'm changing from a developer ROM so in TWRP I'm wiping cache/system and data to give me a clean start but both ROM dont flash I just get an error saying
"Error executing updater binary"
I've had to a restore a backup to get my phone working again.
Any ideas what could cause this?
The reason for trying to flash a stable ROM is to get normal speed downloads from playstore, am I wasting my time?
Thanks,

When you get this error, reboot to recovery again and flash again, but this time without any wipes
Thanks, will give that a try once a new stable is out. I've read the alarm clock is broken in the latest stable.
Alarm clock fixed in rebuilded developer version (6. december [email protected]).
Edit: dev not stable..

Looking for some input on clean ROM on the TF300T,
This is my second time trying to install it and both times it was successful, however as soon as the boot image loads up it stays stuck loading... I did download the file again thinking it may have been corrupted.
It has been sitting there loading for 20 minutes now.
I am using cwm the latest version and I did not install a kernel still running stock
Any ideas on what could cause this?

CWM has issues on this unit. Many, many complaints. I use twrp. If you decide to use twrp be sure to choose JB and tf300t version.
Clean ROM is freaking amazing! Seriously just do it I love the mods I can make for it too! Can't wait till I get my volume long press seek mod done! Love this device!

OK. It was just a suggestion since the problem you are experiencing is usually cleared by using twrp.

I'm sorry it is hard to tell since you have chosen an older twrp to install. The current is five versions later and was updated as the kernels were updated to account for changes. The rom you are flashing is based on 10.4.4.25.

Use TWRP 2.4.1.0
You are using a very old version of TWRP that has bugs with AROMA installer. So that is most likely where your issues are.
What ROM are you ccoming from? What boot loader are you on.
Sounds to me like you need to upgrade your boot loader and possibly do a full wipe - make sure you are on latest TWRP first otherwise you could brick if you use an older recovery!

The only ROM i was able to flash that was fully functioning is cm10.1,
i have also flashed PA 2.9 but had some bugs i couldn't stand (screen rotation not working, extended desktop with no pie)
as for boot loader it says 1.00e by "US _Epad-10.4.2.20-20121228" A03
I just updated the TWRP as recommended on the other post (v2.4.1.0)
on every flash i wipe dalvik / Cache / Factory reset.
Before attempting to boot into Clean Rom i also followed the steps on screen saying to wipe cache and dalvik.
I m hoping PA releases a 3.0 for this device and/or i m able to get Clean rom running

If you are coming from cm10.1 you will definitely need to do a full wipe as it is non stock. It does say this in the first post. You only do a dalvik and cache wipe when upgrading from the same ROM or in CROMI's case from stock.
Do a data wipe in recovery, make sure you have a titanium backup or equivalent if you want to restore apps.
Success!!!
It worked perfectly fine after i install the back up i did before i flashed my 1st costume rom,
I rooted made a back up at stock/rooted... It just would not install from a full wipe,
it install fine once i flashed that specific backup and dirty flashed then wiped dalvik and cache before booting.
OK I am having a problem, when i rooted and followed the direction to install both OxygenOS or CM12 nightly I am unable to receive any SMS or phone calls except after a reboot. Once i reboot any saved messages come through and then once the phone sleeps it stops. I have rolled back to CM11S for the time being. Any steps or tricks to follow to get this issue resolved.
"followed the direction to install both OxygenOS or CM12 nightly" does it mean you are using Multiboot?

No just flashing either one I have this result. Not sure if I am doing something wrong in the process.
Steps:
Wipe all but internal
Flash Rom (then gapps if CM12)
Flash SU
Reboot

Well all i could suggest it, also please flash the CM12 firmware once. In theory oxygenOS and CM12 firmwares are compatible. So flash like this:
Install CM12 fimrware zip
Wipe System, Data, Cache, Dalvik etc without Internal memory
Flash Rom Zip
Flash Gapps
Flash SuperSu
and then let it boot and settle down. Before restorign apps or data, check for any issues again
seems to be sitting stable at the moment, will keep testing. but thanks for the input.

Great! Let me know if the bug persists. And be careful with firmwares. For CM12 roms, just flash the firmware once and you're good to go for all of then.

spoke too soon, after letting the phone sit ideal for a few hours and testing incoming calls\sms nothing came through. restored a backup of CM11S, for the week to have a working device. will keep trying to get to a root cause later in the week. will also open a help ticket with OnePlus to see if there is something I am missing as well since this happens with OxygenOS as well.
Last weekend, I successfully achieved Unlock and S-Off on my M8 with 5.0.1 thanks to Kingroot and Sunshine. I'd like to switch to Santod's stock debloated ROM (★ ☆ [ROM|RADIO|FIRMWARE][5.0.1] Stock-Rooted | Sense 6 | m8vzw | 09-09-15). Can I dirty-flash that over my current setup or will I need to wipe stuff?
I ALWAYS dirty flash first *B*U*T* I'm aware it may cause problems so I make a backup first, then dirty flash, if problems arise I wipe and do a clean install.
I get away with the dirty flash most of the time so it's worth a try, just know it's a gamble.

Thanks. I'll give dirty flashing a try and see how it goes.
For those that want a reference, in post 48 of the ROM's thread, Santod said a dirty flash should work if you're already on a 5.0.1 stock ROM.

I'm getting an error flashing this ROM. The log shows this when flashing:
Code:
-- Installing busybox
[COLOR="Red"]E: Error executing updater binary in zip '/external_sd/ROMmy/4.17.605.9_M8_WL_L50_SENSE60_MR_Debloated.zip'[/COLOR]
Error flashing zip '/external_sd/ROMmy/4.17.605.9_M8_WL_L50_SENSE60_MR_Debloated.zip'
Updating partition details...
...done
Rebooting system automatically reboots into TWRP recovery.
Help?
I wish I knew of a way to bring this to santod040's attention without having to PM him.

Either you need to update your twrp, your sd card is not formatted to Fat32, or you have a corrupt download of the file.
Try it from internal...

Or, I'm a doofus and I forgot to install the new kernel in the first place. Oy!
Once I installed the new kernel, all was well.
Desert "Too Easily Distracted by Shiny New ROMs" Dwarf
I didn't know where to post this so i am posting it here.
I tried to flash the latest version of CrDroid some hours ago and although the installation began with no errors, the whole thing got stuck on an infinite installation of the ROM. The log displayed "Patching system image unconditionaly."
After about 30 minutes i just lost faith and held down power button to force a reboot. Then, TWRP got reset to the screen which you see when you first flash TWRP, the one ascing about wether to keep system read only or not.
I will post screenshots too as soon as i figure out how to do it
.
Set it back to RW mode from RO mode. If it constantly turns back to RO, try reflashing the recovery image.
If you are lucky enough to abruptly abort a ROM installation, you will be able to atleast use the device. I had aborted a nandroid restore and my entire data partition was corrupted.
In any case you should post it in the appropriate ROM thread.
Make sure system is mounted writable, wipe system, data, and caches, and flash... it's that simple. If it fails use another ROM.
BTW, it is usually useful to tell which device (specifically), what ROM/Gapps, what version of TWRP, etc... the devil is usually in the details, the more the better.
Yeah i forgot about that, im new here. So, its the latest version of TWRP and the ROM was the latest version of crDroid (April 17th). Anyways, me being extremely stubborn as usual, I tried flashing the ROM through FlashFire and the problem is still there. By the way I did mount everything and it doesnt get better. I dont care anyways i'll just return to some other Nougat ROM. Thanks for replying though!

Weird... We can pretty much guarantee nothing is working in TWRP though, or at least it's not processing even the boot image of your ROM or the device wouldn't boot.
What is bootloader status?
Hi guys. Last days I decided to try out some custom kernel with my MIUI ROM. I installed Genom kernel after having some problems installing the wrong AOSP version, but finally found the MIUI version on Telegram. When I tried to restore my backup (stock kernel) with Pitch-Black recovery, I noticed that Wifi and Bluetooth weren't working, flashing original firware fixed bluetooth but no wifi, then I had to go back to Genom kernel. Today I found a supposed MIUI stock kernel in the Genom kernel thread, but after flashing it I have bootloop. I can't wipe data, because I installed the Pitch-Black recovery from a different way, without mounting data (I didn't want to lost my data), I installed root from external storage, now I see it was a bad idea. The only thing that lasts is to install the full MIUI ROM again, but I just found the MIUI 10.3.2 for download, my device was running 10.3.3, and I'm afraid I can't install it or it to not work. Can someone give me a solution?
EDIT: I managed to wipe the Data, now I have access to internal storage, but I also wiped the system partition, so now I have no system installed. If I reboot my phone it will brick?
Tried to download the MIUI 10.3.2 firware from Xiaomi site, it has 2.5GB, but the download always fails at 2GB. I tried to install Pixel Experience ROM and Havoc-OS, both give me "Updater process ended with ERROR 7". I don't know what to do, my phone is unusable.
