My partner just bought an S6 G920W8.
I don't know where he got it but apparently its from Canada, if I'm not mistaken.
We're trying to update it to the latest software but it always say "Software Update - Processing Failed."
Knox counter is already at 0x1. It has been tripped once. Does this affect the software update?
If it does, where can I download the proper latest firmware for his version?
Thank you.
Here's his current firmware details, if it matters.
Model Number: SM-G920W8
Android Version: 5.0.2
Baseband Version: G920T1UVU1AOCH

If the phone is rooted with a custom recovery, than you will not be be able to update OTA. You would need to flash the latest build thru the custom recovery.

It doesn't have custom recovery and its not rooted.
I'm not sure tho if flashing an updated carrier firmware will lock the network. Currently, its unlocked and can use any network providers.
You can download the latest official firmware from www.sammobile.com/
And flash it with Odin.
Please make sure to download the correct version.

Enjoy!
Will this update work if coming fom another countries ROM.
I had a problem recently when i used Omega ROM which has MG9 Modem and came back to stock indian version ROM with MG5 Modem. With MG5 modem my IMEI was not read properly. So i moved to using the KSA(Saudi) ROM which has MG9 modem for my IMEI to work properly.
My question here is if i flash this MJ5 ROM (which has MJ5 modem) for India, will my IMEI work properly?

Just flash 4.3
It wont increase the counter. But if you even try to downgrade warranty bit will be triggered.

I am new to all this, but just wanted to ask... I have updated my S4 using Russian 4.3 ROM, and now I want to update it to Indian 4.3 ROM. I am downloading Indian 4.3 ROM from sammobile firmware.
Do I need to install the modem separately? and if yes, how to do it?
Please help.

Flash Stock Version through ODIN.
Is this a wipe ROM? Russian one is a WIPE rom, I don't want to do the same mistake twice
For heavens sake... this is getting ridiculous. There is no need to create a new thread for every firmware release you encounter. S 4 is available in 50+ countries so for 1 new firmware release with all the variations for different regions etc, thats 50 new threads!
Please use one of the already existing threads.

Hello guys,
I am looking for a stock kernel and radio.
I have noticed while searching them on xda that there are many of them
and i am confused in which one to flash.
I am currently on ASIA RETAIL 4.4.4 stock rom
rooted.
I also wanted to know the way to flash a complete stock rom ,kernel and radio via recovery
I am asking this because I don't know whether I am right or not.
I usually flash the complete one flash-all.bat
the one which flashes the mode, erase date and much more.
I would like to know are there any short way like by just flashing the rom, kernel and radio.
instead of going the long way.
I like to customize my phone with custom kernel.
I would like to have the stock downloaded as the back-up
if in case something goes wrong,or if I feel that stock is good,or anything but just a back-up.
please guys please help me in getting the stock rom, kernel and a radio as a flash able ones.
I have seen few on xda, but I am confused in selecting them so I am posting this thread.
STOCK ROM LINK THE ONE I AM USING PRESENTLY :- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2700502

I would recommend doing a backup of your original rom stock before doing something from the TWRP recovery, that way you can return to your factory rom easier
You have right now stock 6.0.1 right?
like a nandroid back up ? not sure how to do that I have allways just flashed dl copy of the stock rom
How ever that asside do you have any custom roms to recomend? Do they need to match exactly my model number ? G920W8VLU4CPG2 or will any rom for g920 work?
