the only way to recover these files is if you haven't deleted those files from the gallery itself. Also, some people don't transfer the media files when switching the phones. So make sure to back up the media files when making the switch and you won't lose them!

Is the Movies section on this? I installed the new Market a few days ago and it doesn't have the Movies section included...
Just installed this... Haven't rebooted yet, but so far it seems to run very slowly... Getting 'not responding' messages nearly every time I touch the screen. Hopefully it'll sort itself out soon, because I sort of like the idea of book and movie downloads.
Edit: Just gave it a minute, it's running faster now, but I don't see a movies section on this one either... Bummer.
Edit: It seems that movies section doesn't show if you have a rooted device - see the outpouring of rage here.
Nope not true.. I'm rooted and the movie sections shows up and works fine.

I downloaded it, installed, and can't get on. It has a instant force close. Any ideas?
Wipe data in app manger. Then boot into recovery and wipe cache and davlik-cache and try it again.

Can I rename a Sdcard?

Hi guys,
I am pretty new in devices with expandable storage. I recently added one to my Z3 and I'd like to know if I can rename its name. I tried use Rename on Root Explorer, but it failed.
Thanks in advance.

As far as I know there's no way to change the "folder name" of the sd-card within android.
It's not like this is the name of the sd card like in windows etc. as android generates a path
to a mount point of said sd card and the name is generated from the sd card serial number / UUID (at least since marshmallow).
Changing this mount point could lead to a bad outcome as all links to the mount point wouldn't work
anymore and apps would literally "serach" in the wrong place for the sd card.

Install firefox extension ExExceptions, you can block many content permission types per site there. I also found extension Public Fox, but blocking all downloads is rather that you don't want

To combat this issue, the best solution would be to disable the auto-update apps option in your settings. There is a chance spam files get downloaded when apps get updated. This disabling will ensure the apps do not get auto-updated. Also, you can install an add-on detector app which will alert you whenever an add-on gets automatically installed/downloaded on your phone. These add-ons have a high probability of being malware/spam. Whenever you get an alert from the add-on detector app, you can choose to either retain the add on or delete it.
Thanks for your help.

how to sync files from share it and a particular folder in an unstable connection

I was transferring files via share it between my mobile and PC. The total file transfer size is 9 Gb approximately.
Somewhere in between for some unknown reason connection broke and a half or more than half of documents got transferred. Following is a screenshot of documents folder which was getting transferred
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
and the following is a screenshot of the folder on the mobile
I want to restart the transfer process but what I have noticed is that this copies the files the second time which means those files which were already transferred get transferred again, one copy is already there and another copy gets transferred.
So I get file
5_6115959032080498805 (first transfer)
5_6115959032080498805(1) (after re transfer of all files)
5_6115959032080498805(2) (if I do re transfer of all files agian 2nd time)
What happens is it takes several hours to transfer 48 Gb of data from my mobile to laptop and somewhere between when the connection breaks, it is extremely difficult for me to detect which file was transferred and which file was not transferred.
I then restart the transfer process all again and under such situations duplicates, triplicates or even quadruplicates get transferred. So is there a better way in this kind of situation rather than identifying each and every file which was transferred which file was not transferred and I just pass on the files which have already been transferred and restart transfer of only those which have not been transferred.
