I am the owner of and Samsung Note 4 phone & I want to talk about a problem that is frustrating me since I got the phone .I must admit I switched from and Iphone 4S to Note 4 ( to android operating sistem ) .I like the build qullity of the phone & I can say that I am very impressed with the new android 5.1.1 I never had an experience with android before .When I bought the phone it didn't had 5.1.1 but an older version .This new version of android is EPIC ,I like it a lot .It made apple look like dumbasses .THey keept braging about they'r hones and operating sistem doing all kind of **** but look android is doing it to now with 5.1.1 even better .
OK with all of that say'ed and done there are 2 problems that I found frustrating !
The first and the bigest is that I was listening to musing on my windows 7 PC with iTunes .I don't want to listen to music on no other player because this one is the best in the world period . Back in the day when I had my Iphone I could sync music to the phone ,and then while having it Jailbroken/rooted could navigate to my music library into PPPPLLLLLLLLLLAAAAAAAYYYYYYLLLLLLLLIIIIIIIISSSSSSSSTTTTTTT select multiple files in there or the entire playlist and share it like send the files on whatsApp / Facebook etc.
It's 2016 soon and this F.......ing android operating system didn't created an windows + phone player that could do that .I don't whana know the alternatives that you know already exist .They are crap . I need to sync music and share it period .
Curently I do something close to this I sync music with Double twist .I found this is the best ,there are alternatives I know ( Syncr ... etc . ) I then can actualy see the playlists on my phone and listen to music .But this DoubleTwist used to have an sharing option that was a scam ,directing me to by the freaking song .But now they removed it completly ! because it was cheap to think like that .So i can sync music but can't share it .Of course afther I sync this music to my phone ,syncing from iTunes PC plibrary - I can then veiw it in an other phone app " PowerAMP or Roketplayer " Roket player dosen't have a sharing option to but suprize PowerAMP has .But it has 1 problem - you can share files from playlist but you can't select only 1 file at a time ... from the playlist .Why would you make the option to share files possible and didn't made it possible to select multiple files then press SHARE ?!!! ?!!???!!! Again its the end of 2015 Android has 5.1.1 with all it's freaking magic and **** but I can't do that .
Can someone help me with this problem ? Can you create a F...ing app that can do this ?
And the second problem I'm not even going to start discuse'ing it because it's beyond you .It's about Google play services that's drayinging up my batteri life .Did everything there is on google to sold it & still didn't succeed . Whys is this happening on an top smartphone with the latest operating system " Android " . Why the F ! I still have the felling that I whana take my Note 4 and smash someone head with it ? to se how many peapole I can kill with it because it's well made and I can sure kill many ppl with it than an Iphone 6 / S and **** .But still I can't share music and my battery is draining like hell .

i don't have a android phone yet. But i'm still a little bit frightened about data security there.

I think normally you should decide yourself what to uninstall and what not.
So my question is - would it be possible to prevent Google from Accessing your phone, means prevent them from Installing / Uninstalling Applications.
Cause i hate this. My phone is my phone and they aren't allowed to play the "admin"

If you read further into this they are talking about malicious apps and it is done for the malicious app or apps only they are actually protecting your phone from being crippled and it is done systewide for those that use the market
APK's installed from SD can't be touched by Google. Only ones installed from the market can be removed. AFAIK so far they have only removed malicious apps(so far), but Googles definition of malicious is different to mine.

They could instead (of remote uninstall) just release a "fix" that you can download over the android market and this fix then cleans your mobile phone...
At least they can't remove stuff that you installed from SD ... this is good ...
But is there a way to modify the rom, so they won't have any access any more ?
Or can u disable this if you got root rights ?

The fact is ..:
I waited all time for Windows Phone 7. Thought that they would make it a good OS .. but now ... no Multitasking, ugly Menu ... it seems to me worse like the iOS (subjective opinion =) ) .
You don't have enough options/ settings and so on. It looks to me, like they try to copy Apple now, and they don't try to make it better =(
And now Android comes with tethering, Hotspot-Ability, a nice menu ... a "free" market , and so on.
Wouldn't i be afraid of Google i would choose it without hesitation.

It's certainly possible to mod Market to disable this feature. Ofc you would need root to do this.
well with custom roms and rom specific apps you shouldn't have to worry because essentially you are loading and update zip so i think you'll be OK there and they would be morons to start randomly messing with peoples phones

As the title says I have a Desire S on it's way and should be here tomorrow and I have a couple of questions .
1,
What's the best way to transfer the contacts and calendar from my current phone to the Desire S ?
Is it best to set up Google Sync on my Windows Mobile and use that to sync between both phones ? or is there a better way ?
I am currently using a HTC HD Mini .
2,
What's the best SatNav program for the Desire S , using offline maps ( Saved to memory card )
I am using TomTom at the moment on my HD Mini and it works perfectly .
It's my first Android phone and any guides / tips are most welcome.
My last few phones werea all Windows Mobile .

2.)The easiest way is certainly through google, Going from asus P750 I remember some programs to transfer data across platforms, but it was not very reliable (national characters lost etc...)
3.) I'm currently using iGo which I used on WM too, but sadly iGo can not be purchased normally for Android, it's a company solution only... so unless you want to .... iGo, I'd recommend Sygic or something similar...

It turned out to be easy to get my contacts and calendar from my HD Mini to the Desire S .
I set up a gmail account , and used ActiveSync on the HD Mini to sync to the gmail account .
When I turned on the Desire S for the first time and entered the gmail account details , it downloaded all my contacts .
Love the phone so far , I'm still finding my way around Android...
Same with me, i'll get my Desire S this Sunday. Before i use Samsung Galaxy Ace.
i've several question
1. If i get s-on, may be it not possible to root it atm. so my question how i can remove advertisement in some app? (last time i used adfree but i know it only work for rooted phone)
2. Where i can found flashing tools and firmware for this device? (last time samfirmware give me all of this for samsung)

For the of-line Navigation, I don't know which is best, just to avoid the included HTC Locations. I paid for a full perpetual licence, it refused to work and Route 66 refused to refund me.

app market looks like it was made by windows 95. and doesn't work.

Hello to all. I am new to the form and new to smartphones. I just retired my old Motorola flip phone and bought a used Samsung Galaxy S4 SGH-I537 with Lollipop 5.0.1 installed. I am 68 years young, enjoy learning and dislike companies that watch my every move and dictate what is installed on devices that I own. I build (assemble parts) my own computers and consider myself "handy" around computers but will stop shout of "tech-savvy".
I have been searching and learning and right now I am on overload with all the info / knowledge I have been reading. To the best of my knowledge this phone, mainly because of Lollipop is not root able at this time. At least not with automated software which I would prefer. Now my question which after searching I did not find an answer. Is there a PC installed software that allows control of this phone. I want to safely remove bloat ware, pack up and other related maintenance duties.
I have read, on this forum and others about all the apps I can install on the phone like SD Maid, Titanium, Root Explorer and so many more. I am reluctant to install all of those for two reasons. I am installing a bunch of apps to cleanup my phone, not sure if that makes sense, second, working with a small screen and small keyboard seems like a recipe for mistakes / disaster.
So, is there a PC application available (paid is fine) or not? I am running Windows 7 64

First of all if you want to remove ur bloatware..etc then Root is must....
U can search the forum how to root ur device.. U will definitely find a way...
And the second thing if you want to control your device via pc... Like handling calls,msgs,data transfer...
Then Airdroid is the best option for you...

Actually, this is my first thread but I need some help. I'm using an android device with Jellybean (4.2.2), 1.2 GHz Dual-Core CPU and 1 GB RAM. I updated Instagram to latest version exist at all (10.33.0). But I don't have the option to create live stories or even watch them! I also don't have the option to face filters . I think it is something they added to apk file. It probably detects that I have low spec phone and it hides these options . I have a theory actually. I think it is possible to mod that apk and enable these options. Because I know my phone is capable of streaming and watching them (i can watch live streams on other apps). I tried to edit apk but i couldn't . So I need someone experienced at modding apk. Can u guys help me? (Pretty Please )
Edit: I also want to say that I was able to watch streams for few hours (I did nothing). I thought it was a bug and it is fixed but then, it disappeared again.
