Textnow Moto G XT1031 takes a long time to boot up. - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have two Moto G (XT1031) that I got from Textnow for my kids to use. One was accidentally registered with Textnow the other wasn't. The have both been updated (latest bootloader), wiped and the XT1031 Boost 5.1 Optimized ROM installed on them. Issue I have is that the phone that was NOT activated is really slow to boot up. It hangs on "Starting Services" and then eventually after a long time boots up. I don't really know what to do about this to fix it (if it can be). I thought maybe if I can upgrade the Baseband of the non-activated phone that it may fix it but I'm not sure if you can even do this or how to.
Any help will be greatly appreciated, thank you!
Activated Phone:
Network: Chameleon
Baseband Version: MSM8626BP_1031.390.81.01P BOOST_CUST
System Version: 221.21.56.falcon_cdma_Boost.en.US.sprint
Kernel Version: 3.4.42-g89906d6
Non-activated Phone:
Network: Not Available
Baseband Version: MSM8626BP_1031.3116.98.00B DFLT_FSG
System Version: 221.21.56.falcon_cdma_Boost.en.US.sprint
Kernel Version: 3.4.42-g89906d6

Just to follow up on this it turned out that unless you first register the phone (even after a complete wipe and ROM flash and updating radio, bootloader, etc...) you'll have a very long boot up with it tries to start services. I got the stock image from Textnow, flash that puppy completely registered the phone, did the Textnow update and viola the long boot times were over.

First timer rooted my EVO phone now have all kinds of problems. Expert advice needed!

My friend did not have time to root my phone and simply told me to follow some directions and it ended up messing up my EVO 4G. I was working on getting revolutionary and something got messed up. I then tried to put on Cyanogenmod and it worked extremely quirky.
We ended up putting several ROMs on it and they all made it constantly bootloop.
Eventually I found a way to get it to its stock RUU rom and it still messes up. I am in constant roaming with Verizon which doesn't allow me to get service most places I go. So basically my phone is useless as a phone.
Also, certain areas of my phone screen when pressed does not work. For instance i cannot ever type the letter "s" or even activate the text box to put in names for new contacts.
Anybody know how I can get it back to using Sprint towers with no roaming and to be able to enter in all numbers and letters entry via keyboard and text etc? I basically want it to be completely stock and downloading the RUU stock ROM didn't do it all they way unfortunately.
I would eventually like to get FRESH ROM installed after I get this figured out so anybody with good directions or tutorials please share!

[Bounty] XT 1031 4.4.4 Stock CDMA Radio Off and Data Off but have WIFI

I have tried any and all radios I could find that were appropriate for this device but service status always stays as radio off data off. I tried going to 5.0.2 and back 4.4.4 stock debloated, etc. What am I missing? When you boot the phone it starts up in airplane mode. If I turn off the airplane mode I still have the same issues. I want to put this phone on Ringplus. I already have the account setup but can't get the radio to work right. It worked fine when I had it on Textnow service before this. However, unfortunately, I didn't create a backup before I flashed it. I will pay you if you can help me get this phone on ringplus.

Phone Stuck after 5.0.1 Update

I have an AT&T LG G3 D850 model, but operating on T-Mobile network with SIM unlock. The upgrade seemed to go OK, however now the phone is stuck saying that it needs to update Google Play Services and it won't let me upgrade. When I click the banner notification, just hangs on a white screen.
Has anyone seen this before, how can it be fixed? Also, it appears the latest stock ROM for this phone is 5.0.1, is that true, or can I bump it to a 5.1.x version.

Moto G XT1031 Flashing Problems

I had my Boost Moto G XT1031 flashed to pageplus awhile ago, originally the flasher locked it so it couldn't be updated to anything past 4.4.2 which was probably a good thing. I recently wanted to get my phone back to sprint/boost network so I decided I was going to flash it back. I am normally super careful with flashing custom roms and such from doing it a bunch on my galaxy fascinate. I downloaded I what I thought was a stock rom and preceded to flash boot.img which is now obviously the biggest no no. The phone wasn't booting but I could get it into fastboot but recovery was borked. I was able to get teamwin recovery before I flashed the first time and had it on there. After a bunch more messing around of trying different things in the Moto G regular forums I accidently flashed http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/general/gpe-lollipop-5-1-1click-installer-t3075522 and the phone booted into it no problem and I was ecstatic but setting up the phone it said Sim card part(I did't pay much attention to it and just skipped it). I then went to settings once it had finished setting up. I found it then said XT1032 and I knew I was in trouble because my stupidity is unboundless today. I preceded to retry and flash back to a 1031 rom and now I am just getting Unlocked bootloader infinite reboot but I can get into fastboot and twin recovery but I am hoping someone can point me specifically to what I should do or what threads. Any help would be greatly appreciated and sorry if this has been asked and I have searched for hours
Boot.img is simply the Kernel. It's required. Are you following the factory firmware flashing tutorial?
BTW, all models of Moto G (Falcon) say XT1032 in Settings > About phone > Baseband version - that can be ignored.

Fun variant on XT1039 'radio off' issue

A little over a week ago I started having the fairly common issue on my (hitherto completely unmodified XT1039 where the radio is turned off and can't be turned back on again.
Following advice from similar threads on this forum, I unlocked the bootloader, installed TWRP and flashed the stock 5.1 ROM found in this thread as Retail EU 5.1 ROM (Optimized) v1.1: https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/4g-development/rom-stock-motorola-4g-lollipop-rom-t3142816
Didn't get anywhere so I flashed the radio firmware provided in that thread. Symptoms remained the same:
5.1: SIM reads fine, WiFi works, radio off, IMEI reads fine
Following another thread, I tried downloading the stock 4.4.4 ROM from https://firmware.center/firmware/Motorola/Moto G (1st gen-2013)/Stock/XT1039/
Being a beginner, I ran into difficulties with manually flashing the xml.zip ROM - but on a hunch I tried flashing the radio firmware only.
Surprisingly, this worked - kinda. Having done that, I had a system where the radio worked - but the SIM wouldn't read, and the WiFi wouldn't turn on. I quickly figured out that I could switch between the two states by flashing the 5.1 or 4.4.4. radio firmware:
5.1: SIM reads fine, WiFi works, radio off, IMEI reads fine
4.4.4: No SIM, no WiFi, radio on, IMEI reads fine
Running out of ideas, I tried flashing LineageOS, only to get yet another configuration:
Lineage: No SIM, WiFi on, radio on, IMEI won't read
However, with Lineage running, I could flash the relevant 5.1 or 4.4.4 radio firmware to get those states back.
Finally, tried installing 4.4.4 from https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/4g-development/rom-stock-motorola-4g-kitkat-rom-t3160127
This gives me the same set of symptoms I had originally (SIM reads fine, WiFi works, radio off, IMEI fine), whatever radio firmware I flash.
I am at this point pretty stumped - this is my personal phone so would be pretty pleased to get it up and running again. Any kind souls have useful ideas on what my next steps should be?
