You have to wait for few minutes, that's when they device gets recognized

First check adb drivers. Even i faced same issue. But later on adb drivers were updated and rooted my phone

just do adb devices, if it shows your device, then u can start the bat again

Root Your Pantech Crossover [P8000] (GingerBread 2.3.6)

If you have updated your Pantech Crossover with latest update of gingerbread 2.3.6 and regretting it, don't feel bad because you can now root it with few simple steps which are mentioned hereunder...
NOTE: this procedure is very much safe, but if you mess something up just because of your less technical knowledge/experience then don't blame because I don't take any responsibility of your mistakes.
- connect your CrossOver with your computer and make sure that latest drivers are installed.
- download and extract attached file and open command prompt placed in it.
- type "adb reboot bootloader" and wait for phone to boot into bootloader mode (your phone will remain on 10% loading bar which is actually bootloader mode, so don't panic) [people with bootloader drivers issue should download modified drivers from the link below]
- type "fastboot boot recovery.img" and your phone will boot into CWM recovery.
- copy update.zip to your memory card and select "install update.zip from memory card" from the recovery menu.
- restart your phone and you are rooted.

Awesome! Been hoping someone would crack this for a while.
Do you have a source for the .exe files by any chance? I'm on a linux box now, I'll be able to try it on Windows by tomorrow I think.
edit: nvm, had fastboot all along. thanks!
For those rooting, don't forget to enable Superuser through an app like Terminal Emulator.
If you open Terminal Emulator and the command prompt starts with a $, you are still rooted. Type "su" (without the quotes). If the next line in the command prompt starts with a #, congrats!
You're awesome

Hi,
Firstly, thanks for posting this guide and the resources and files. I'm having a problem. After typing "fastboot boot recovery.img" in the cmd prompt, it says <waiting for device> and then doesn't do anything. On the device, the screen is still stuck at the loading screen with the bar at 10%. The only thing I can do is pull the battery to get it to boot up normally.
Am I missing a step or doing something wrong? Sorry this is my first experience with rooting. Is there anything that needs to be done before attempting to root using this method? My phone is pretty stock except for a few apps and launcher pro. Thanks for all the help.

Thanks for the help. Ok, so when I have the device at the 10% loading bar, in the device manager it shows "Other devices" with an "Android" subcategory with the yellow exclamation (!) mark. I right click that, click update driver, and point it to the directory with the download and unzipped drivers that you asked me to download. However, it says it can't find any drivers to install.
Note that when I'm normally running the phone connected to the computer, it shows up in the device manager as a Pantech android device, and I can transfer files seamlessly using the Pantech Connectivity Suite. Sorry for asking so many questions. I really appreciate the help. If there's any other information you need that I forgot to add, let me know. Thanks again for the help.

[Q] adb devices problem

Hi! Every time I need to use ADB I spend hours trying to get my device recognized. Whatever I do, I get "Waiting for Device". Eventually, after a long struggle, my device gets recognized and I can do what I wanted. But this time, I am not finding a way. Could someone please help?
Is there a step by step guide that I can follow to get this sorted out? I've googled to death but nothing I found works.
Thanks for any help!
PS: I've got the Motorola Device Manager installed (including drivers) + I have USB debugging enabled + in my PCs device manager I have not exclamation mark.
Try a different USB port in your computer, or try updating your adb drivers in android sdk

Thanks, I did both but still no luck.
Only other suggestion I have is to go to device manager on your computer and uninstall the driver/device, then put the phone in fastboot and plug it in to the computer & let it install the drivers automatically

yeah man, just wanted to share this with ppl who wanted to root their Mi 4i
Check this out it is working How to root Mi 4I
I've been trying different ADB drives but no matter how they all install, under Device Manager in the PC (64-bit Windows 8.1), it has a yellow exclamation mark beside it. But when I run "adb version" from the command prompt, it gives me the version. When I try running the tool to root it, it just stays stuck at the first thing (I tried the english version as well and it said "Waiting for the device. If you have been stuck here check ADB drivers and USB debugging is on") . My USB debugging is definitely on.. but the phone is on and at the MUIU homescreen with nothing happening - it doesn't restart to fastboot or anything.
This is for a new Mi 4i running the latest MIUI developer ROM.
FIXED: I followed the instructions at this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LbAq6d2Du0U) where I "pick the device drivers" for each of them in the Device Manger, chose ADB Interface Driver and installed them successfully. When I run the command "adb devices", it shows me a device. Ran the tool again and the phone asked me if I would like to allow USB Debugging. After saying yes, it rebooted into Fastboot. Now waiting for the device to be rooted.
Success, Mi4i device has been rooted.. heading over to the thread to hit thanks

[Q] Phone wont turn on

Hi Guys,
I had installed Exodus 0607 build and less than a day into the ROM it went into bootloop..
as i was able to enter recovery, i reflashed the Current build that time was 0609, so again less than a day into it AGAIN.
The phone was at 3% when i switched it off as i could not get the OPO charger to charge the device, after that the phone was completely drained out.. i kept on charging with the OPO charger.. did not work, i pressed power 20 secs for 5 times did not work.
did not work the other method of:
switch off for 12 hours and recharge for 6 hours.. (both done approx)
but no help.
is there any work around on this?
im desperate to use the device..

You can now proceed to install unsigned drivers from the file you downloaded. Open Device Manager, you should be seeing ugly yellow warning under other devices for QHUSB_BULK. Right click on the name and select Update Driver Software > Browse my Computer for driver software. For driver software location provide the path where you have extracted Qualcomm 2012 drivers you downloaded and make sure 'Include Subfolders' is checked. [Guide] Unbrick Your UNLOCKED Lenovo P2a42

Hey Friends,
You must have seen very good days with Lenovo P2 but when there comes a bad day when your phone stops responding to button holds and restarts. You may or may not have a clue what to do to get your phone working again just like before.
I got into this situation where only thing my phone was able to operate was a RED LED on connecting it to my laptop. Then I had to read tens of pages on XDA to find answers to all my questions. If you are in such a situation and your phone is UNLOCKED then you have come to the right place. Procedure is quite simple but remember, I am writing this guide to define complete process from blackout to complete update so follow this guide as per your needs.
I faced this situation of Total Blackout / Dead Phone (Almost) with only Red LED working and it can be very scary. So, here is the simplest procedure you can follow. I want to appreciate all those people who helped me in finding a way to boot my phone with each and everything working. Long story short, let's get this done.
Tools Required:
I am mentioning here all the Tools you will need. I will urge you to download and save these tools in case you want to unbrick your phone any time:
1. Minimal ADB and Fastboot setup for PC
2. Lenovo USB drivers v1.1.33
3. Qualcomm USB Drivers
4. Qualcomm Flash Image Loader (QFIL) v2.0.1.9 for your PC in case you have corrupted your phone's IMEI and/ or Baseband
5. Blankflash.bat in case you want to recover from total blackout (Attached)
6. Stock MM S048 Firmware for Lenovo P2 in case phone doesn't boot
7. S048_ModemTelephony.zip in case your phone boots through Stock MM S048 but SIM isn't detected and IMEI is missing. I have made a complete modem zip file for installation through recovery.
8. S251_ModemTelephony.zip in case your phone is on latest firmware and doesn't detect SIM and has lost IMEI. I have made a complete modem zip file for installation through recovery.
9. QCN file for recovering baseband version and giving you most precious network signals. (Attached)
10. WinRAR or PeaZip for uncompressing files
I will recommend you to have a specific folder for keeping all these tools in a single place.
Procedure for Unbricking:
Before going with the procedure, make sure you have downloaded all the files you need, updated Lenovo and Qualcomm drivers etc. Here is the procedure:
1. If total blackout with red LED notification when connecting to PC: Unzip blankflash.zip to a folder in C drive. Now connect your P2 to PC through USB, press volume+, volume- and power button simultaneously and double click blankflash.bat. You might have no success in your first try. Just keep trying and it will load your phone to Fastboot. Restart your phone in TWRP if installed and install a working ROM for your phone after doing a wipe. If all is good and phone works OK then great but if you have lost IMEI and baseband then it is better to reinstate your phone through first MM stock ROM S048
2. Install S048 firmware through Minimal ADB and Fastboot - use flash instructions in .txt file.
3. Wait for startup of phone. Check if fingerprint, BT, WIFI and SIM work if all work then OK.
4. If fingerprint, BT, WIFI and SIM are not working then check IMEI through dialer. Dial *#06#. If IMEI is not available then install latest TWRP through Fastboot.
5. Start P2 in TWRP recovery and install S048_ModemTelephony.zip. Restart phone to see if WIFI and SIM work.
6. If SIM is detected but not giving signals and Baseband is shown as unknown then extract 000000_0.qcn file given in .7z and restore through QFIL and restart your phone into Fastboot.
7. Now, install stock recovery of S048 firmware through Fastboot and restart your phone.
8. Use your phone like you normally do and update your P2 till firmware S251 and see if everything works including calls. Update your phone through OTA.
9. After OTA installation, stock recovery may say that update failed. Just press Back, go into Wipe user data menu and Wipe Cache only. Restart your phone which will be updated to latest version and will ask you to update to a newer version. Allow it to download the next update.
10. After installation of S251 update, install latest TWRP through Fastboot and install most recent version of LOS 16 so that your vendor partition is stable and free from any bloated files. Now, use your phone just like you want to.
If you need further clarification then ask in this thread.

If red light blinks, your phone can be detected by your laptop. Check ports in device manager settings and you'll see a new port with Qualcomm 9800 series number. If that's there, try blankflash to start in fastboot. It might need some tries before startup. Be patient and keep trying till you are in fastboot.

I think you might have damaged some hardware. But anyway if you want to use blankflash, I have a method.
In lenovo p2 we have another mode called QDloader mode, in which we can use blankflash. For entering into this mode, it's little tricky but, can enter in one or two go.
So, here's how:
1. Switch off the mobile.
2. Press the volume up key,
3. While holding the volume up key, insert the usb cable and at the same time press the power button (this is the trick, we have to insert and hit at the same time).
And voila! :highfive: you will see black screen with only red notification led blinking.
we are into QDloader mode. Now use blankflash :good:
