Hi like usual I am on a hunt for my ideal phone. I want it to be able to connect to a TV and use OTG so I can use it as a games console and to watch films when I am away from my PC. Also I would love it to have a forward facing camera and decent battery life but I know battery life is a lot to ask for and I will settle with carrying a spare battery or buying a giant extended battery.
I am having problems finding something affordable and an all round phone that has these features.
Interestingly I found out that most of the Sony phones released around 2011 have hdmi and also otg (it might need a module installed).
But I know the sony phones cannot use third party headphones as they have a slightly different plug which I will probably find very irritating.
So far I am considering these:
Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo/Neo V (HDMI)
Motorola Atrix/Atrix 2 (HDMI)
Samsung Galaxy Nexus (MHL)
I am finding it hard to decide and would love it if I had more choice. I would just save up and get a Nexus 4 but I am a bit pissed off that it does not have MHL but Slimport and so far there is not an adaptor that will give me both a hdmi output and also OTG USB plug with Slimport..
So anyone know anymore phones that I can get that have OTG and MHL/HDMI? They need to be around £50-100 second hand.
Many thanks!

Hi guys,
Was Just wondering if you could enlighten me with this little question. I was wondering if it is just alright to use my old Xperia X8 and Xperia Go chargers and cables on my new Xperia M2 Aqua. I haven't had the chance to compare the specs of the cargers yet, but I suppose they might be similar, but I will check later when I get off work and post them here.
I just want to make sure of this because, when I was still using my Xperia Go, I used to always use the old charger from my Xperia X8, it was charging fine. But this one time I forgot my X8 charger at the office and I was forced to used the one that came with the Xperia Go. Then I noticed how faster it was charing with the charger that it came with compare to the old X8 charger I was using for almost a year.
Anybody any ideas or suggestions? Oh and, btw, the old X8 cable has some rust on the regular USB side, could that be a factor why my Xperia Go was charging slower?
Would appreciate any help. TIA!

Hi,
As a rule, you can just about use any charger or cable on any Android device if the connections are the same. But Charger specs and cable quality and shape will play a factor in charge times. You can get apps and widgets on Play store that monitor the current going to your device if you want to visually see what chargers and cords work best that you own. But generally just seeing how long they take to charge is a good indication.
If you want other opinions or have any future questions on your device, please use this section to ask or help...

Good luck!

Hi,
I've got quite weird problem. Most micro-usb cables doesn't fit nicely with my phone. I've to push it and it feels like I could break something. Is there company that makes good quality cables like Samsung's original ones?
Pretty easy to get oem cables on ebay.
Ok, but is there any particular company, except oem, that you would recommend?
OEM Micro USB Cable
I have searched everywhere, there is no OEM Micro USB Cable available for Galaxy S4.
On ebay , when you select OEM warranty , no results shows up for Micro USB cable.
Can anyone help me find a replacement, the charger is working fine but I'm unable to find the best cable?
Please advice.
Thanks,
Sid
I've bought an Aukey cable and it works really fine.
Try blueridge. They make some of the best cables. I have one and it even supports fast charging ( qualcomm quick charge )

double yes on the blueridge, been using them a while now and no issues
So Blueridge, Thanks.
try look for Remax micro usb cable which is very durable and good quality. But beware of counterfeit one as there's a lot in the market right now.
I've just got myself an LG cable from ... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/331618247629 ... The OEM Samsung cable was over 2 years old and was the reason my phone was charging slowly (car charger was fine and swapped an HTC cable onto the Samsung charger and that was fine so definitely the cable ...) - at 300/400mA. With this cable it will charge at the full 1900mA, it seems to fit better (more securely) into the USB port on the phone and it's also slightly longer which is, for me, an advantage.
HTH.

What phone do you use? I threw my stock usb cable (S4) away after it started "connecting/disconnecting" on its own when connected to my PC!
I'm now using my old Blackberry 9380 USB cable which is short and thick AND has NEVER done the same as experienced with stock Samsung cable. I charge with it and flash new ROMS, no problem! :good:
This one time my old stock usb cable disconnected WHILE I'm flashing my S4 with new rom - almost bricked it!
thank you

Hello,.
I can only recommend you one cable, the Anker nylon braided micro usb one, it is the best usb cable I've ever owned.
You do even get a 18 month warranty, you won't be disappointed.

As for your problem, it happened too with my new cables. It's pretty normal I think, it's usually over after 2-4 weeks.
I also used a lot of different cables (from my mice, music players, other phones) and those worked w/o any problems as well. Fit like a glove that fits nicely.
Mine is from iOrange-E. It is 6.6ft long and reversible also. Works fine for me.
I love my 6 foot Monoprice cable... Amazing and only 3 bucks with the gold plating(for looks, of course).
These that came with this extra charger are the best I've tried so far.

Hi all,
Got the Sony Xperia XZ Premium yesterday. No problems with the device at all.
Apart from the fact. I have an Anker Premium USB-C cable with relevant protection/resistors and that.
It worked fine with the HTC 10. Using Full QC 3.0.
Plugged the cable into my Sony charger plug for this phone and the phone doesn't recognise it's being charged at all!
I switched it back to the HTC to check the cable was fine. It worked fine.
For some reason. It's like Sony somehow stopped it from recognising other cables but I'm sure this isn't the case.
I really don't want to be stuck with the tiny cable that came with the phone.
Any suggestions?
I got the Anker PowerLine+ 1.8m (product number: AK-A8169091) and everything is working fine.
Hey. I bought this one amazon link and worked perfect.
The phone supports only usb 3.1 gen 1 (this means 5gbps) but this wire supports 10gbps. I assume this will be best instead of pushing the limit on a 5gbps wire.
Be carefull about type C wires. There are a lot of rubish somewhere. Regards!
i use this and it works like a boss
Hi guys.
I noticed from today that my Ulefone Power 5S doesn't detect headphones over provided 3.5mm to type C adapter.
I have spare new adapter too, nothing, but charger type C works okay and charges phone.
What could cause such issue and is it worth to repair?
Thx.

This has happened to me before. The adapter is probably bad and unfortunately you probably need another one like from Amazon. Or, did your Ulefone come with one in the box? That's always your best bet.
I just plugged bigger headphones (over ear) and work normally.
Wtf??
Yes I use adapter which came with phone.
