Hello can someone help me to enable hotspot and usb tethering on my note 5, I am using it overseas on a GSM Network but there is no option to enable mobile hotspot ,Bluetooth Tethering or USB Tethering . I used Galaxy tools to try and enable hotspot but it just shows there but cant connect any device. I tried adding dun to the apn but it is not working at all.

Download WiFi tether router from Fabio Grasso or KLINK both from playstore both work on KLINK enable (mimic mobile device) in settings.

Did anyone get the wired tethering on fresh 2.0b2 to work?
You mean Mobile Network Sharing A.K.A Internet Tethering? This feature is not avaliable on Fresh 2.0b2. You will need to download a 3rd party app for wired tethering on Fresh 2.0b2. BUT Fresh 2.0b DOES have wired tethering enabled. But, 2.0b does not have camcorder working.

No. The Fresh 2.0b ROM has BUILT IN USB tethering. You must be talking about the 3rd party app titled "Wired Tethering" which was built off of "Wireless Tether" As for that, I couldn't get it to work on any ROM so far.

the wireless tethering? I had to open the wireless tethering app, connect it, then go back to the home screen and toggle my mobile network widget off and then on. Once I did that, my laptop, desktops, and iPOD Touch all was able to connect.

my handset has a problem sharing its wifi hotspot. current build is model:d821(E) rom:dirtyunicorn. do anynone face the same problem? i have tried using my laptop or even my friends handset to try to connect to my hotspot. some might be able to connect to the hotspot but unable to get any internet services.

Do you have a tethering plan with your service provider? Have you added the tether_dun_required=0 line to /data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases/settings.db in the global section? Have you modified your APN for IPv4? On computer have you changed user agent?
First a question, is there any advantage to USB tether versus wi-fi tethering? For example better connection?
Second I want to have an icon on my home page that I can press and it will connect to USB tethering, not wi-fi tethering (that I can do). Any suggestions?
I've tried Tasker and it says that this option is not available. I've also tried many of the tether apps and widgets and can't find one that works.
I'm connecting to a Parrot Asteroid Smart and have it working with an auto connect to wi-fi tethering.

Looks like it´s impossible to the device (being wifi hotspot) to be in the same network than the hotspot clients with the current technology.
All I need is to be able to send/receive udp datagrams to the clients connected to the hotspot.
Will this work ?

Note: on Huawei, i was able to extend by wifi as a hotspot , basically working as a wifi repeater, but can't find the settings in miui 11.
