I can find how to change the ringtone for the phone, but to change the ringtone for text messages, I haven't been able to find it, went to Bestbuy to ask the samsung rep and he couldn't find it either.
The text message ringtone is a little ring followed by a knocking sound.
Settings-Ringtones is for the phone call ringtone
Settings-messages there are no options for changing the text message ringtone. I have looked on the phone in the gear app Notifications and nothing
I too have the same problem. Unable to change text message notification on the S2 3G (Verizon).
Mine is somehow is a bell sound. (not the same as my phone's text notification sound)
I have the exact model, gear s2 3g Verizon
I hope we find a solution...

The subject basically says it. I can't find a tutorial for my specific phone the Sprint Samsung Transform. I have downloaded my songs, trimmed them down, created the ringtones folder on the root of my sd card, and dropped the mp3s in there. went back to phone settings sounds and notifications. changed my phones ringtone, that worked. now i want to change the sound the plays when i receive a new text, but i cannot find the option to do that on the phone. am i missing something or is there a hack or anything that will enable this?
i found a sort of fix for this. change your notification ringtone to whatever you want your text message ringtone to be. the only problem is it makes that same sound for every notification. most noticeably when you plug your phone ino the charger. thats the best ive figured out tho.
The same notification sound is usually played for all incoming messages on Android by default.I want a different sound for different notification .
Can you change the notification sound for New Voicemail, New Text Message, New Mail etc.........and can you change the shut down sound
To change the text notification, go into the Messaging app, hit Menu-Settings, and then change the ringtone. The same can happen for the Mail, Gmail, and Voicemail apps. You just have to go into that app to change the sound for that app.
Hi,
Is there a way where the S3 would vibrate for any incoming notifications (mails, texts, etc.) while I'm texting someone instead of the usual notification tone? I had an Iphone before and it does this. I'm hoping the S3 can have this feature or an app can make this happen. It is very annoying to be in the middle of a text and hear the notification tones several times.
Thanks

Hey all,
I have a G920F and I noticed that the call alerts menu is missing. I looked under Sounds and Notifications menu and in the Phone (Dialler) app. After a google search I learned that many are having the same issue. So now I cannot set the minute beep or the vibrate when pickup, hangup notification and all the rest.
Is there any way I can get them back? What were Samsung thinking?
Thank you kindly.
I have the Gear S3 Frontier with LTE and its on Phone number. I have it paired with the Note 8. I'm wanting to know if there's a way to separate the text messages recieved on the phone from the ones received (exclusively) on the watch.
So, I get notifications on the watch when I receive a text on my phone. I also get a notification when I receive a text to my watch number. But if I happen to dismiss the notification on the text to the watch number, it seems to be gone forever and It doesn't show up in the text messaging app for me to read later or respond to. I would like to be able to recieve those text messages that come to my watch number in a separate app so I can actually see them even if I dismiss the notification. Hope this makes sense.
