I have the Gear S3 Frontier with LTE and its on Phone number. I have it paired with the Note 8. I'm wanting to know if there's a way to separate the text messages recieved on the phone from the ones received (exclusively) on the watch.
So, I get notifications on the watch when I receive a text on my phone. I also get a notification when I receive a text to my watch number. But if I happen to dismiss the notification on the text to the watch number, it seems to be gone forever and It doesn't show up in the text messaging app for me to read later or respond to. I would like to be able to recieve those text messages that come to my watch number in a separate app so I can actually see them even if I dismiss the notification. Hope this makes sense.

Have an SGIII from Verizon. I have the standard whistle as my text message notification. Anytime my wife texts me (she has an Iphone 4s through Verizon as well) the notification will only make it through about the first 2-3 melodies and then stops. Seems petty but at times those few audibles are tough to hear causing me to miss the message. Anytime anyone else send me a text message the notification will make it all the way through with no problem.
Any ideas why this is happening specific to messages from one sender?
Not sure this has been asked before, but I was unable to find anything, so if this has been answered, please direct me to the right thread.
I receive message notifications from Whatsapp on my Gear 2, but nothing when I get a Whatsapp call, only a 'missed call' notification afterwards if I do not answer. I could not find any way to enable this. In fact the same thing happens with Skype, I receive message notifications but no call notifications.
I assume there is nothing that can be done, any ideas?
The Gear 2 Neo doesn't catch the calls directly, neither from What'sApp nor from Skype. The Gear Manager can only catch the after-call notifications when What'sApp and Skype generate them on the phone's Notification bar.
Until these apps support Wearable's from within the apps or at least generate a notification event when calls happen, you will have to live with that .
I came from a pixel and this didn't happen, but when I having a text conversation with someone and stay on the conversation screen, the notification sound always goes off when they send me a text. Anyway to stop it from doing that and so it notifies me when I am not mid text to that person or actively messaging already.
Hopefully this makes sense
Prior to my Gear S3, I would get a verbal for messages and calendar events, plus either the ringer on the phone would announce calls or I could get the name of the caller. Now I get none of these but a quick ring for calls and no verbal messages or calendar events except on my watch.
I like using the watch, but would like to hear my messages and calendar events being read out loud.
Is there a way to get both or must I remove these notifications from the watch?
My phone is a Galaxy S7e.
My Galaxy Watch 4 doesn't vibrate or "ding" when I receive an SMS or MMS message. I have it turned on in the wearable app and all other notifications work as expected. I have reached out to Samsung and they took my Watch for repair but ended up sending me a new one. Still the same issue. The orange dot comes on, but no actual alert.
