samsung message app vibrations - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S6

I have been trying to figure out how to change the vibration pattern for incoming text messages. Its always just 2 short vibrations.
I've gone into the sounds and notifications section and changed the vibration pattern to something other than the default but that only seems to affect incoming phone calls. Is this the correct functionality? So there is no way to change the vibration pattern for incoming text messages using the stock app?

[Q] how do I edit vibrate pattern?

does anyone know how to edit the vibrate pattern for notifications? I want to change the length (milliseconds) of the vibrate pattern.
just to be clear: please dont respond with apps that change vibrate pattern for texts and stuff like that. I want to change the pattern at the base of the rom so I can have a constant pattern for ANY and ALL notifications.
is this possibly in framework-res or somewhere else?

I'm looking for the same thing, anyone??
Bump....looking for this as well. I have a Message Reminder app that lets me edit the Vibrate Reminder like
v200v50v100
This would provide a 200mS vibrate, 50mS wait, and 100mS vibrate. I'm hoping I can find a text file that I can edit for the overall vibration.

Is there a way to mute vibrate when phone is in use

It's really annoying when I'm talking on the phone and... VVVVvvvvvt...VVVvvvvt...VVVvvvvvt... the phone starts vibrating because of an incoming text, email or some random alert. Not only is it startling to the side of my face but the person on the other end is like, "WTF was that?"
It there a way to disable vibration notification when the phone is active?
It would be nice, but I don't think there is. I usually tell people I am walking by cows...
You can try a alternative messaging app like handcent SMS. It has the feature to turn off vibration during calls.

I probably should've clairfied that I'm using GoSMS which I really like. I've used Handcent, Chomp, etc and have settled on GoSMS.
Besides, the vibration alerts come through for any incoming notification; Gmail, Ebay app, txt, etc.
Changing text apps to resolve the vibration issue would only be part of the solution.
This is a really annoying feature.
Thanks anyway.
EDIT~
I just discovered a way to disable text msg vibration during phone use. GoSMS has a setting under: Settings> Advanced> Notification Settings> Default notification settings> (waay down at the bottom) Notification on calls> toggle "vibrate on calls" on/off.
Now if only there was a global setting to disable this...
for incoming calls go to Settings / Call Settings / Turn Off Vibration during calls.
in CM 7 you have an global Option to disable Vibration during Calls.

[Q] Vibration; short for notification, long for call

Is there a way, by default or via app, for me to set different vibration settings for notifications vs. calls?
My problem is that the vibration setting for emails is too long. Each email produces a long, three second vibration. Even if I make a custom short-burst vibration in settings>sound>device vibration, I still get a long vibration for emails. The custom vibration that I created only triggers when I'm getting a call.
So, I guess my question is: Is there some way for me to customize the vibration pattern for notifications?
Try Light Flow.

Pretty sure it allows you to customize both the LED and vibration settings on a per app basis.

how to stop vibration?

I have set my phone on Vibration profile.
My whats notifications settings have DO NOT VIBRATE set for messages. Phone still vibrates when i receive a whatsapp or for that matter any notification such as Gmail.
I can go to notifications - apps - particular app and set as "show silently", but then it will not show a headsup or will not sound if i change my sound profile to ringing. Any suggestions here?

Question Messaging Vibration

I am using the latest firmware and am using the latest Messages Beta. When I have the phone set to vibrate only and am on an active call, if someone sends me a text message (doesn't matter if its SMS/MMS or RCS), the phone doesn't vibrate. I receive the message. But I do not feel a vibration when it is received.
If I turn off vibration and enable the ringtone or other notification sounds, I am able to hear the notification for the SMS/MMS/RCS during said call without any issues.
Any thoughts on how to get the vibration function to work while in a call?
For clarification, I'm using the following:
- Build: T2B3.230109.006.A1
- Google Messages app version: 20230303_00_RC00.phone.openbeta_dynamic
I am open to root solutions, as I use AOSP Mods to enable vibration on call end. So if anyone knows a Magisk module or other mod that can force the messaging vibration, that would be a viable option too.
