Verizon Note 5 international use - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note5

Hey fellas,
I am travelling abroad to india for a vacation. Can I insert a Indian GSM Sim in my note 5 and have it working.... Or will it not? I know documentation says Verizon note 5 supports international GSM. But is the note 5 Sim unlocked ... If not I have to buy another unlocked phone before I leave.. I know it's a noob question..but jus wanted to make sure.
Thanks for any input !!

I actually called CS with the same question. While they won't Sim unlock the phone they will be happy to offer you to purchase the global data plan which seems to be a very feesable option seeing as how we all have boatloads of money falling out of our pockets and good samaritan Verizon goes out of their way to clean up the streets cause who wants all that dirty money laying around?
Jokes aside, while you will be able to switch sims and make phone calls and texts, data might be an issue cause you will need to change the apns. At least this is what I gathered from my conversation with customer service.

Will at&t one x work on tmobile if unlocked?

Just wondering if I decide to use a tmobile prepaid sim in it.
UPDATE for the lazy folks:
Yes, this can be sim-unlocked
Currently, this is the only unlocker who is able to: http://unlockphonenetwork.com/unlock/3
Turnaround time is 12-24 hours.
No, this phone does not have 3g on T-Mobile, only 2g EDGE speeds are possible.

HAHAH! +1 on that, I was thinking the same thing when I replied but was gonna keep it a little more friendly.
Weren't you anti the 1x just yesterday?
2G uses the same basic GSM frequencies as phone calls, I think. If you can make a call, you can get 2G. Really slow 2G...
Just as an update, I have two pending unlock requests for the HTC one X from different companies (got a good deal so the two were only $15 combined).
The first one I tried failed and they refunded my money. Hopefully someone can unlock this device.
Any update on this ?

Not necessarily true.. if you use a newer tmobile sim card you will only be able to make calls and text, there is no Edge unless you use an older sim card.

All as an update, still no word on my two pending unlocks. The company I tried but refunded me was Cellunlocker.net
The two places I have a pending unlock with are cellunlock.net and UnlockMagic.com Update FAILED
Pending some word from them I will gladly try other services, but I can't afford to pay everyone to unlock my phone

HTCcode.com doesn't even let me proceed after telling them my IMEI.
Since there is more action in this thread than my thread with the same question, I'll post here. Thanks for trying those that their phones already. I'll try some of the other services not yet tested once I get mine.
I'm starting to think I've purchased an iPhone now. Lock bootloader, no carrier sim unlock. Google Voice not working fully.
i'm waiting aswell, my bro and i will be spending 1100$ for 2 devices, so we dont wanna be stuck with devices that cant make calls (

Even when I purchased my iPhone at full price it came sim unlocked on AT&T. The One X on the other hand.....
Well, UnlockMagic.com just failed and gave me a refund.
I went ahead and purchased an unlock from http://unlockphonenetwork.com and in record time they refunded my money. They claim there is a method (http://unlockphonenetwork.com/products-page/htc-unlock-codes/htc-unlock-code-not-found?cid=25) but its $30 and will take 12-24 hours.
In the interest of science, and of course getting my phone unlocked I am taking the plunge now.
my bro is currently in the US, he'll be leaving on the 11th, so i don't think i've got much time :S
Sorry for the crazy amount of posts, but those subscribed may not have seen all my updates (and they were plentiful).
The quick summary:
cellunlocker.net - failed
unlockmagic.com - failed
first attempt at phoneunlocknetwork.com - failed
cellunlock.net - pending
htccode.com - wouldn't let me proceed after sharing my IMEI
QUESTION - if they manage to unlock the BL, will that also allow us to make it SIM-free ?

[Q] Is SCH-I535v same as SCH-I535

I am buying a verizon galaxy S3 off craigs list and the model number is SCH-I535V , is it the same as SCH-I535 ?
Also what is the best way to unlock it to use with AT&T with most functionality. Please point me to the appropriate "how to"s if possible.
Thanks in advance.

[Q] SIM unlock for Canadian GSM carrier

I used to be with Verizon but switched to Sprint 2 months ago. I have a friend who is visiting from Canada and I figured they'd get more use out of this phone since I don't plan on going back to Verizon anytime soon and this phone is quite old. I tried putting their SIM in the phone and the phone asked for an unlock code. I've been doing some research on here but it seems like no one can guarantee a good solution for unlocking.
If I ask Verizon nicely, will they give me the unlock code?
Or do I need to search for a third party? How reliable are those? And there are apparently SIMs I can purchase that will unlock the phone? Which is better?
Honestly, I'd prefer a free option, but I want to make sure when my friend heads back to Canada next week, the phone will work without any further action required.
Thanks for your help.
The only guaranteed ways are either contacting Verizon Global Support (and you must have an active account in good standing with them for at least 6 months) or using a hardware dongle called SigmaKey which is $120.
Online unlocking services are “unreliable” as in, it depends on whether you're lucky enough to have a device with its unlock code unchanged.

Anyone using a SM-G930F on T-Mobile US?

Thanks.

the biggest thing to think about is that the g930f and g935f are suppose to be region locked. Meaning you have to make a 5 minute call using a european sim before the phone will sim unlock to allow the use of a US sim. Im waiting for someone who has purchased a g930f or g935f to verify this

I have read that as well. I'm asking because there's a sale on eBay, and they're shipping from the US. Haven't contacted the seller re: the region lock, but it would be very odd if they're selling unlocked phones in the US that can't be used. Certainly something to clarify. Without full T-MO support I'm not a buyer anyway, so that was my first concern.

yep, i just bought the g935f, on ebay as well...i did send a message to the seller asking to clarify if these phones will work in the US due to the supposed region lock.
I agree, it wouldnt make any sense for them to be selling these phones in the US, if they cant be used due to the region lock, everyone would be returning them.
Either way we will know for certain next week, as i think a bunch of us have jumped on the crazy deals, ie G930 for 599, g935f for 699 (no tax)

As far as region lock is concerned, i would assume like you that it will come region locked...but if youve been keeping up with some of the threads here, im sure your aware of all the assumptions regarding bootloaders...id prefer to have someone in the US actually confirm the region lock on the g930/5.

I'd much rather find out if the G930F will work before ordering it than go through the hassle of sending it back. Just doesn't make sense that a company would sell phones that don't work, but stranger things have happened. Thus my original post. I have no interest in rooting or alternate ROMs. Right now seems like I need to wait for the TMO version.

With the 930T you will get T-Mobile VoLTE, WiFi calling, and Band 4 3G in areas that have not been refarmed (is there still any left?), and T-Mobile support (and update, if they ever come out, LOL). I included support in one the pluses despite not ever relying on the provider for device support as I always root and custom ROM all phones.
If you don't care for any of the above, then the 930F would work and you could get it cheaper (even more so if you happen to have eBay Bucks), though if you factor the promotional offers, the 930T may end up cheaper.

Just 930T cannot be rooted due to the locked bootloader... In this aspect 930F should be better. If it works with TMO.
Has anyone gotten one of these yet and can comment on VoLTE? I'm more concerned with that than Wi-Fi calling.

Only phones that have VoLTE are tmobile branded phones
I'm extremely interested in this possibility. Not keen on losing VoLTE & especially WiFi Calling, but if that's what it takes to get a rooted S7, I would happily settle for this.
Hi! I got my Samsung Galaxy s7 930f today, so I was testing. Everything working fine, hsdpa, lte, I do not use VoLTE or Wifi calling, so I can't tell anything about it.
The price was $599 on the ebay. I use it in Clearwater, Fl, so looks like here the hsdpa working 1900mhz not 1700.
I have only one problem, the signal is little bit weaker than my another phone " Sony Xperia Z3 Compact ".

I started looking into the framework for the G935F and G935T and from what I see, there are a lot of changes that Samsung made to get VoLTE to work with T-Mobile's servers. They did not go with the AOSP implementations of VoLTE and Wifi Calling that Google introduced in Marshmallow. They're still using the same custom implementation that they used on the Note 4. It's not easy, but I think it's possible to make VoLTE work with a custom ROM. If T-Mobile/Samsung won't unlock the bootloader of the G935T by the end of my return period, I'll probably buy the G935F and take a stab at making VoLTE work.
@Python_69: Was your device SIM and region unlocked when you got it? Did it work with a T-Mobile SIM right out of the box? Also, if you wouldn't mind, could you test if your phone can receive a band 12 LTE signal (for data only of course, since we don't have VoLTE yet)? Thanks!
If it becomes possible to run a rooted Exynos S7 on Tmobile & enact wifi calling & volte, it could basically become a work around for the locked bootloader of the 820 for those looking for TW based ROMs. I'm one, & from what I've read, the exynos sounds better for my needs anyway.

yes. now, keep in mind, as this is the AT&T variant, its unlocked for GSM only .so if ur switching carriers, make sure it says GSM. Sim cards that use CDMA wont work like Verizon or Sprint.

Well, I can't switch carriers. Not sure I'd want to anyway. But other than being able to switch to any carrier (and have to pay to do so) is there no other benefits of unlocking a phone?
Not really. It just allows other carriers to work. And it will have a higher resale value as it's not just tied to AT&T.
Oh ok. Thanks for the info. I can say I learned something, if nothing else.

Well, it it's unlocked, able to use any other GSM networks now, functionally it is now a 'universal' phone, as most out of US carriers are GSM. That is one important need for me.
