you got sources to this? not doubting you.

The Note5 uses the BCM4359 from Broadcom. "The BCM4359 also maximizes the bandwidth at an 867 megabit per second (Mbps) PHY rate in two-stream*MIMO*mode..."
Not sure why you'd need more than 867Mbps on a phone.

What the heck Internet do you have that you need that much of a rate when it comes to wifi anyways. Holy crap. Wish I had that! [emoji24]

hahaha I'm just curious, because I bought a ruckus R700 AP and I see my phone and laptop maxed out at 866mbps so I want to know what is the Max theoretical speed of our phone.

That's why I hate these multi-gigabit routers, since no device can even hit past that. Why spend $400 on an AC5300 router when your device can only do 867Mbps?

I have gigabit fiber from CenturyLink, but on a phone it's pointless.

We could use faster speed for LAN, so streaming from a nas or just transferring files. But 866 is close enough to 1gb.

Not being Throttled anymore At&t?

After At&t started Throttling my data a few months ago at 5 gb my speed dropped To about 500k immediately but this month I am at about 9 g and no limit Has kicked. Am I just lucky or big blue finally came to its senses?

Hmm, interesting. Be curious to see what other people's experiences are.
Could be that you just got lucky, and the system isn't perfect.
I might just test it out (blow past the throttle limit intentionally), to see what happens. My billing period ends tomorrow, anyway.

great reply...*sarcasm*
When I log into myAT&T, my days limit has been changed from unlimited to 9999 gigs and 0.00 for each additional gig or whatever unit they use to charge now.
Don't know if that's relevant or not, but I noticed it changed a month or two ago.
Sent from my One X using xda premium
Nope, my billing period just reset today and I was throttled after 5GB down to about 0.6mbps for the past week. Still managed to get to 8GB though..
I'm on straight talk and they throttled me to Sprint "3g" speeds close to 4gb.
For those that don't know, sprint 3g is no better than Edge

I saw an article somewhere I think it was gizmodo, where its bad for you to use data when you have poor signal because....
1. The carrier measures what data they send, not what your phone receives.
2. If you have poor signal, there is definitely a loss of data from the tower to your phone so your getting charged regardless if your phone receives all of what is being sent.
So I may have hit over 4gb but my phone measurements was at 3.7gb

Netflix works quite well even at throttled speed.
Here's my beef with netflix. When I'm not throttled it streams FULL HD, killing my data.
When I'm throttle, it seems to use LESS data as it probably streams lower quality.
BUT I CAN'T TELL THE DIFFERENCE ON MY PHONE.
Wish I could always stream lower quality to save data.
Netflix - On your phone eatin' all your data.

Yeah, everyone's situation is different. If you have access to WiFi at home and work, your network data usage can be close to nothing. I have a friend that still has a 1st gen iPhone, has WiFi at home and school, and his network data usage since first buying the phone 5 years ago is only a few gig!
Personally, I'm on WiFi at home, and don't typically have time to be streaming and other data hungry activities while out of the house. Other people don't even have any type of data connection at home, aside from their phone, and use the phone for everything.
I pulled a 60gb month from at&t 4-5 months ago

yea duh .. NOWAI really i had no idea . im on wifi 90% of the time lol
I'm not sure about everybody else's plans but At&t charges me $10 per every gig I use over my 3 gig limit. I would hate to see you guy's phone bills if your up 8, 9, and 60 gig per month.
I have grandfathered in "unlimited" data like I'm sure a lot of people in this thread do. When you hit 5gb they usually throttle you to .5 mb download.. I'm sure there will be a class action lawsuit before too long about this.

There is quite a big difference between the two.
1) Android pay is only NFC capable. Samsung pay is not.
2) Samsung pay uses NFC AND MST technology for mobile payments, depending on the terminal.
If you would like more information, I would suggest visiting samsung website referencing to samsung pay.

No I was being serious. I knew they were giving away some wireless chargers with the Note 5 at purchase, but didn't know they were doing it for Samsung Pay too.
It is a crappy charger anyway... Any 3 coil one on amazon for $15 will run circles around this free one in terms of placement and connection stability.

Leasing a phone is a horrible Option. You don't own it and when it's time to opt to purchase it is worth less than what they want. You are basically fighting for yearly upgrade and still rent a phone. Good luck

If you absolutely need the latest and greatest then buy it outright. I also will never choose the lease option on a phone or an apartment for that matter. You're pretty much renting a device, sounds like pouring money down the drain to me. Do you really need a new device every year? I just now got the Note 7 from the Note 4 and it felt like I just bought the 4 yesterday and hesitated if I really needed a new phone.
