3gp video quality isn't very good, you can't enhance video quality not even with a video editor.
Yeap, "video enhancement" is just marketing (they oversharp, overcontrast and call this "enhancement"). In reality the best you can do is:
1) fix issues that video has (too much noise -> denoise filter, blocking -> deblocking filter, aliased lines -> antialiasing filter, etc).
It's very complicated, it requires tuning for every source (especially if it has very low quality), mobile h/w is way too slow for most of this stuff.
2) display video in a best possible way (high bit-depth processing, best possible scaling, etc.) - like madVR on windows does.
Currently it's not possible with any media player on android (and with current MX architecture "leave everything to system"), but this might change in some distant future

When I recored a video with my phone app, it's a regular video.
When I record a video within the SMS app, it knows to record a very low res (2MB) caliber file.
Is this a default set in the SMS program itself?
