Hello xda
I am facing a problem with my nexus 5 storage. It says I have utilized almost all of my storage but I can't seem to find the large file. I am attaching a screenshot of my storage summary. Please help.
The total shows around 8 odd gb but it says I have used 12.xx gb
Also I can't seem to find what the others-4gb constitute..
Need help
Thanks
You could backup what you need and try a factory reset.

Delete the Lost.dir folder if you have it or try es file explorer and select Sd card analyst, it'll give you a good idea on what's eating your storage.
Have you tried clearing your cache?

Thanks dear.
Is there any other option without rooting your device?
If you do not wish to root your device then your only option will be to start deleting stuff to make more room.

I have this very same problem but it's nothing I have installed. I get the 'No free space on storage, click here to free some room' and then it shows me whats taking so much space, its only apps in this list, and that is ~80MB out of 3.9GB.
I used a rootexplorer to look around in the phone for some weird cache but found nothing. Nothing.
Please help, it even tells me I cannot receive any text messages.
Oh and..
Rooting is not an option since it's not my phone (borrowing it for.. probably a while..).
Wiping is not an option either.. :/
Any good apps for searching for weird stuff like this?
Thanks in advance.
hi all,
i have a problem with my galaxy s4 mini, yesterday i copied a movie from my pc to my phone, it was 1.2 gig big and after i copied it there was no movie to be found in the folder where i put it in.
i got a message that my memory was full, so im missing 1.2 gig of my internal memory, how can i fix this?
probebly it will be solved by going back to factory setting but thats a last resort for me, im hoping sombody knows a solution whitout a hard reset.
Silly suggestion, but have you rebooted the phone? Sometimes the file indexers crash (or get disabled) and the files are there but won't show up.
Also, tried another file manager?

You can, if you format your phone
If you copied the file via MTP from your computer, it sometimes fails to refresh the media index.
Try to look at the copy destination with an app from your phone, i.e. a file explorer that does not hide hidden or temp files. It possible that the file is there and you can manually delete it.
Hey guys.
I'm in a bit of a problem. I just flashed the new cataclysm update ( the December 5th ) and now my internal storage is like blocked.
all of my media is allegedly " gone " although my nexus tells me that nothing has been deleted like all of my files are still on the phone but they are not visible I checked on the storage option and nothing has been deleted.
I tried to accesses my storage through the phone using FX but I get a " Access was denied " message, and when I try to copy new files to the storage through the computer i'm getting an error so it's not even possible to copy an older build of cataclysm to see if the new build is the problem.
What should I do how can I handle this?
Maybe there is help here

Thank you very much sir.
Everything is back in order.
Basically, I've been having this "insufficient storage" bug. I know there is a system partition whcih I can't touch, my tablet caps around 500 free mb, while I have almost 2 gb of free storage. I also cleaned absolutely all the cache but I still cant install this tiny 500 kb app. I have the Galaxy tab 3.7 (SM-T210) rooted on stock ROM with TWRP recovery. Can anyone please give me ideas? Maybe a way to manually install the google play apk files? I looked this problem up but all I find is cleaning cache which I did. Update: I read somewhere you could delete dumpstate/logcat files and that did the trick but it only works for samsung PHONES. I figured from someone if I deleted the contents of my /data/log folder, that did the trick. However, it didnt. Can anyone PLEASE reply?

Hello good people. I got a problem that is driving me crazy. When I have a general look with the Es Explorer it shows so little free space in my internal memory.
But... When I select ALL files in internal memory, it just 1gb and a little more used.
But I can't install anything big in internal, ok, I use the ext but....why this happens?
Thanks in advance
Please, nobody got a clue? It's drive in me crazy this problem. And don't want to factory reset. Thanks

Files explorers says it's full, but when you look for the details, hiden files including, there's just 1 gb and a little more used. Like there's some ghost file there.

Look, it says I got 5 gb used, 4 gb of cache, I deleted cache via CWM, and in the details of the Es Explorer don't show 5 gb used... What's going on?

Click on "Datos en cache". It should prompt you to delete all cache. Press yes and report how it goes. Also can you click on the "utilized storage" to see what is using the storage?
