Follow section 5 of my guide...simply use one of the prerooted roms listed, then proceed back up to section 1, follow steps 8-12, to unlock and flash a custom recovery.
Can u point me to that thread? And I don't think I completely understood ur response. U said I have to choose a rom from ur list? Wut does that mean?

Hey guys,
I'm a bit confused on how to flash the above mentioned rom as I'm still on 5.0.2 even though the update is actually already out.
What confuses and scares me is the warning about the bootloader and modem...
Anyone did go from 5.0.2 to 5.1.1 and flash xtrestolite as rom?
Help would be appreciated, I'm too used to the easy flashing of nexus devices
flash stock 5.1.1 , flash twrp through odin (take from their website to your device),**** flash unikernel I think for root access ****, and then flash xtrestolite from twrp.
**** = maybe not needed, but just in case

Everything is actually mentioned in his thread. Read it and ask if you have more questions.
But short. Flash 5.1.1 bootloader and modem, flash 5.1.1 stock, flash twrp, install XtreStoLite.

Why would we flash the bootloader and modem first? Wouldn't the 5.1.1. stock include it all?

I have absolutely no idea. I couldn't get on 5.1.1 before that, but I may have different something wrong. But it can't hurt, to do the above.
Judy follow the instructions on the thread.
Hey guys i have a problem with 5.1.1 and twrp 2.8.7.1: when i reboot in recovery i can't see my phone in windows explorer and i'm unable to copy the rom on the phone. Do you have the same issue?
i unlocked the bootloader but theirs no way to root without downgrading to kk..
is theres a way fo rooting with this update can i have it
im new to sony and had a bricked problem yesterday
played a little bit with flash tool and managed to get out of it with the Unlocked bootloader..
And you were aware of such keywords like "camera DRM", "TA partition", "backup" before unlocking, right?
I've aswered you elsewhere too, but, the procedure is kinda universal (for Z phones that is): downgrade to KK, giefroot, XZDR, update to pre-rooted LL.
What's your issue with that? You do it once and you just flash the next version, keeping data, but wiping dalvik&cache.
i didnt keep the drm backup...
now i dont think i can restore it
it doesnt matter all i need to do it to root this and have the full power to my self
done and rooted and everything works fine..now i nned toknow if theres any pure android marshmellow available??

To root with an unlocked boot loader is the easiest thing, just flash an insecure kernel.
As for ROMS, head over to the development section and take a browse there.

Hi!
I have a Samsung Galaxy SM J100H with KitKat 4.4.4 that I would like to unlock the bootloader on.
The only tutorial that I can find online tells me that what is given will only work for a stock android ROM but not a custom like my Samsung touchwiz.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thank you!
Sadly to see you've got no reply from anyone on here! I am also having the kind of your phone and I really need to unlock bootloader. Although I already have root on it.

I don't think it matters that you're on a custom ROM, custom ROMs don't change your bootloader, it still has the stock bootloader you had before you flashed the custom ROM.
Either way, you can flash back to full stock via Odin then follow the instructions you found. Then flash TWRP the flash SuperSU.zip in TWRP to root, then you can flash custom ROMs.

Please forgive if i'm posting incorrectly, have been a lurker for a while
I have a Samsung s6 G920F variant, locked onto o2 (UK network) I believe the bootloader is locked also.
I was on Lollipop (with pingpong root) and recently upgraded to Marshmallow 6.1, so my root is obviously gone, and it doesn't seem that there's root right now that works.
I really want to try out the XtreStoLite rom, theoretically could i flash this rom via odin, since its TW based, would it load on without root, and with locked bootloader? I don't really care about Xnox tripping, but I definitely don't want to brick the phone... I'm not sure if the XtreStoLite rom would count as 'stock based' therefore being recognized by the phone as an official operating system? If that sounds correct.

Link to root your phone correctly.
And Yes you can flash xtrastolite with a custom recovery and without root .
Agreed. ROM has root already. Since you're already on MM, don't flash BL and modem, just ROM & optionally addon. Note that if you replace the stock kernel, you'll probably lose root.
