Just got my VR2...nothing but stutter when using it. It's actually unusable. I posted in the Gear VR section as well (can't find a VR2 section) I have returned to stock, rebooted, tried stock and custom kernel. Anyone else get theirs? Any ideas why this is happening?

I have a rooted Samsung Dart, it works wonderfully but when streaming from Netflix the audio is 5 to 10 seconds behind the video and the video plays slowly. I don't have any problems from YouTube or any other video playback and haven't found any information anywhere else so I'm posting here asking for help.
Thank you in advance.

Anyone else out there have a Samsung Dart with the same problem?
Ok, I think I'm going to return the phone as I have found no one else that has the same problem.
I have this phone and it runs pretty good. If you still have it, you might want to try CyanogenMod on it, or the Mobilicity stock rom available at http://www.madteam.co/forum/development-70/(archive)-stock-roms-and-tools/
Hey, anyone still got Sky Go working on their Nexus S ? It was working via the test APK, but this morning it just stopped with the dreaded "device not supported message". Seeing one the other threads it would seem I am not alone in it stopping, but wondered if anyone else still has it working or any ideas to perhaps get it working ?
I'm on 2.3.6, and device is NOT rooted.
Cheers
Dave
me and my girlfriend both own nexus 5's. today i got a force close message while using instagram, then later my gf said the same thing was happening to hers. afterwards it started doing it much more frequently. it doesnt seem to be doing it as much now, but it was pretty darn annoying. i was just wondering if anyone else has had the same issue lately? im on xposed + franco kernel, but my lady is all stock. i was wondering if maybe the new camera update could be causing it but im just grabbing at straws.
Crashed just a moment ago after I posted an image. Can't say that happens often. I'm on stock 4.4.2
yeah..it is crashing here and then

Couple of people in Slimkat's thread posted they're having issues with it, possible it is the new camera app yes. I tested mine and it's all good (so far at least)
Mine crashes a few seconds after opening it
i actually uninstalled the new camera app and it reverted to the version prior to the update. and it would still crash without the newest camera apk.
I have a S8+ on Verizon, and after rooting I am having some weird problems in Gear VR. When you first put boot up Gear VR it works excellent, maybe even better than before root. But if you take the headset off so that the screen shuts off and leave if off for about 10-15 seconds (but not removing the phone from the headset) two things happen. When you put it back on, it is clear when you are still, but there is severe motion blur when you turn your head. Secondly, the screen brightness stays at max no matter where you put the slider in setting. If you take the phone out of the headset, and then put in back in again, everything is normal until you take it off and try to put it back on.
I was trying to troubleshoot it but I can't quite figure out what is happening. It has the motion blur even with one eye shut. It doesn't show up on the recording as far as I can tell. I didn't use gear vr for a few weeks prior to rooting so I am not sure if this is a global Gear VR problem from one of their updates, or if this is coming from the SamPWND root. Has anyone experienced this?
I did also try uninstalling and reinstalling Gear VR and Oculus if anyone was wondering.
Is there anyone that has a SamPWND rooted phone who uses Gear VR that can comment on this? I am wondering if I should start from scratch and re-root, but am not sure if it will help.

Did you ever get this sorted out?
I'm in a similar boat, but I can't seem to get it to work at all.

No, I never got an answer. If you are using Samfail, the newest root method, it might not be working because it is debloated. You would have to download the needed gear vr apk files from another site, because it won't happen automatically when you plug it in to the VR goggles. I am not sure if that root method cleared up the motion blur I had or not. I gave up on Samfail too because I couldn't get the DEX Dock to work, and couldn't get an answer for it on here.

I am using the latest SamFail. I finally got my VR headset to work like half an hour ago.
I think the biggest issue ended up being that I needed facebook installed (which was debloated from SamFail).
I found the setup wizard here https://gear-vr-setupwizard.en.aptoide.com/ It took a little doing (I think b/c of FB not installed) but it finally works now.
So you went back to stock?

Yeah I am stock for the time being because I use my DEX quite a bit and couldn't figure out how to get it working again. I was also getting the Kernel Panic a lot for some reason. I miss root because of things I do with Tasker. Maybe in the future I will return.
Hi all,
I'm having trouble getting Samsung's Gear app to connect with my new Gear Sport. I've tried about a dozen different versions of the Gear app, Samsung Services, and Gear S Plugin. All with varying degrees of success.
The phone always finds the watch over bluetooth and appears to pair. However, from there I usually get stuck at the "connecting to gear" screen on the phone. One set of APK's got me a step further on the phone side but then the watch says "Connection failed. Try again."
This thread seems to imply that the latest versions of everything from the play store should work, but they don't for me:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/an...ng-gear-app-android-n-samsung-t3547035/page19
I am running a rooted Nexus 6P with the Nitrogen Oreo ROM.
Any help would be appreciated. I like the watch, but if I can't get this basic functionality to work I'll probably take it back.
Thanks in advance!

I could never get mine to work on a custom rom. When I went back to factory firmware, it worked instantly.

Thanks for the reply. Were you able to retain root at least?

First thing I did was go back to Factory Firmware, then installed gear and accessories right after android setup competed, making sure it was working then re-rooted. Worked fine afterwards.

Well, it was painful, but I went back to stock and was then able to install all of the Gear apps. Not sure what about a custom ROM hoses everything up, but it sure did. Like you I re-rooted and everything still works. Haven't tried flashing back to the custom ROM though. I may stick with the stock ROM since everything is playing nice.
Thanks for the help hgrunwell!
