Can I switch SM-P907A (AT&T) to SM-P900 (WiFi) and use other roms? - Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I ordered an Note Pro 12.2 WiFi on eBay, got an insanely good deal, but when it showed up, it was the AT&T version. I got such a good deal on it that I don't want to return it simply because it's not the WiFi version, and it has a better CPU to boot.
My question... I'm rooted on Kitkat (4.4.2) And I've searched everywhere for roms for it but they don't exist. Does anyone know what would happen if I tried to install a P900 WiFi TWRP recovery on it, and also install P900 roms on it? I'm with Verizon so I don't care about the cell radio features, and the AT&T "no service" issues are really annoying.
If anyone has tried this, or knows if it would work I'd love to hear about it. I haven't had the best of luck fixing bricked devices, and I definitely don't wanna brick this one.
Thanks!

You can't. It will fail. Locked boot loader.

Different processors so no P900 Rom is ever going to work on it.
Best bet is to wait for root and uninstall AT&T crap.

[Q] Help Flashing/Rooting Before I Brick Phone

So I'm switching from Galaxy S3 to Nexus 5 and was wondering a couple of things.
1: For most phones, there are carrier version and each version had it's own rom/flashes, so for Nexus 5 I noticed that there is no separate forum for Sprint, ATT, etc. Does that mean all flashes/rooting methods work on the Nexus 5?
2: Is there something like Odin for Nexus 5?
Bump, really do need help. Don't want to brick phone.

There so no carrier version nexus 5, there are two variant, LGD820 for north america and LG821 for the rest of the world. LG820 and LGD821 are 100% the same. The only difference is a programmed chip. This chip in LGD820 programmed to work with north amrrican lte network, in LG821 this is programmed to work with not north american lte networks. This two variant is needed, because this chip only capable to handle 7 lte networks, and there are more then 7 lte network on the whole world.
Yes there are an app like odin. It is called lg flash tool, but only works with LGD820 because the dll refuse to work with LGD821, someone have to hack it to make it work for LGD821 too, and we dont have factory images, just user images so you will get the same result if just flashed a rom with fastboot.
Oh yes and nexus 5 has a mode called fastboot. You can flash system, boot, recovery images with fastboot to nexus 5, you can boot your phone with a kernel without flashing it to your phone and etc...
This would be a good thread to read through before you do anything: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2508292
Also, please stay away from Toolkits. Learn how to do things the right and safe way. It will help you out in the long run and you'll know how to fix common problems.
As @El Daddy said stay away from toolkits, those cause more troubles in those hands who dont know what are they doing than they should.
+1 for ditching toolkits

Signal issues

Hey, recently my moto g has not been getting signal in places that my old phone did (a s3 mini). I checked the bands and they are the same as my s3 mini. I tried reflashing the radio to no gain. Im on the UK network Three. I think i will probably have to flash a custom kernel. Im rooted with various xposed modules installed, with lots of experience with android (5 phones 2 tablets) and I have never had anything like this! Hell please!
Thanks in advance, Neo

[Q] at&t microcell & custom roms

hello, ive searched to find an answer so I apologize in advance if this question has been answered.
I have not rooted and installed a custom rom in a few years, reason being is I use a at&t microcell at home and at that time, the phone I had would not pickup the microcell as a primary signal. my question is, with the lg g3, if rooted and custom rom installed, will that interfere or take away from the phones ability to connect and work with my at&t microcell?
id like to get rid of this stock rom its making me sick already, thanks
I've run every rom available to us and have not had any issue connecting to the micro cell with any of them. Flash away

Wi-Fi tethering?

Now that we have root will Wi-Fi tethering be obtainable? I didn't see it mention in the v10 forums as being done yet either. Maybe T-Mobile has that blocked?
Sent from my LG-H830 using Tapatalk
You should try out Wifi Tether Router. It's a paid app on the app store that is pretty sweet. I have it working on the Galaxy Note 4. T-Mobile has gotten really good at blocking it but I've had more recent success with it.
If you get the app please report back to us if it worked or not!
I tried it but yes T-Mobile had gotten better at blocking. When I use it it continues to turn wifi on, even after I end the app the wifi will continue to turn on. I ran out and bought the phone AGAIN as soon as I saw it was rooted in hopes I could get tethering working. I'm returning the phone, it'll be the last carrier phone I ever buy.

I don't know if that's a T-Mobile blocking issue as much as it might just be a problem with that version of the app. You should see if previous versions work better first.
Maybe I should have. I'm going to wait for the next round of Nexus phones.
