Signal issues - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey, recently my moto g has not been getting signal in places that my old phone did (a s3 mini). I checked the bands and they are the same as my s3 mini. I tried reflashing the radio to no gain. Im on the UK network Three. I think i will probably have to flash a custom kernel. Im rooted with various xposed modules installed, with lots of experience with android (5 phones 2 tablets) and I have never had anything like this! Hell please!
Thanks in advance, Neo

Wifi and mobile signal

I have seen a couple of comments around here about wifi problems.
I am not only seeing wifi drop for no reason at all but also having great difficulty in getting any signal at all for phone calls/texts.
Have other people experienced this and are there any ways to fix it?
I have unlocked bootloader and rooted but havnt flashed anything at all, I haven't even got a custom recovery.
Any help will be appreciated as this is currently making my phone useless

I should add that I am in the UK on O2 as I have seen people talk about it in the states but don't know if they would be related.

[Q] Weak Reception - Fault of ROM?

My unlocked AT&T Mini averaged 2-3 bars before I put the stock international ROM on it. Now I get 0-1 bars, but everything seems to be working ok.
My first question is - can a ROM have any effect on reception? And if not, is it possible to put the stock T-Mobile HTC One M7 ROM on the Mini, or are they incompatible? I'd like to get T-Mobile software for the Wi-Fi calling feature.
Thanks for any help.
DO NOT USE "One M7" ROMS WITH YOUR "One mini M4"!

Thanks - that's what I figured. Any ideas about the reception issue?

Couple questions please (moto g 4g)

Hey all, just got this phone and have a few questions.
For the love of god how do I get rid of my carrier name in the notification bar on the left?Any custom Roms recommended? the 4g developer doesn't have much to offer and what they do have all for some reason have bugs that have been bugs for a while and don't seem to get corrected, which is strange.Does this phone not use 5ghz WiFi? it doesn't see my routers 5ghz band and that makes me sad.
just a few quick questions any reply is appreciated, only bought this to hold me over until the note 4, and it's ok so far, kind of disappointed in battery life though.

You don't need a custom ROM to get rid of that carrier name. Just go into Settings>More... (under Wireless & Networks)>Mobile Networks. Then, uncheck the box next to where it says "Show mobile network". Don't know what genius ever came up with putting the carrier name in big, bold letters in the notification area. As far as custom ROMs go, I'm afraid I can't help you there. I prefer stock Android, with a few personal modifications. This is why I haven't flashed a custom ROM ever since Xposed Framework came out. With Xposed Framework, you can more than likely find modules that can add the personalized features you desire (Gravity Box and Xposed GEL Settings are must-haves for me).
As far as the 5GHz WiFi band goes, you are correct in that only 2.4GHz is supported by this device. I was kind of surprised myself, but what can you expect from a device at this price. Definitely not a deal breaker for me, especially considering I was able to get it brand new at $180 (the same price as the 8GB WITHOUT 4G LTE).

Can I switch SM-P907A (AT&T) to SM-P900 (WiFi) and use other roms?

I ordered an Note Pro 12.2 WiFi on eBay, got an insanely good deal, but when it showed up, it was the AT&T version. I got such a good deal on it that I don't want to return it simply because it's not the WiFi version, and it has a better CPU to boot.
My question... I'm rooted on Kitkat (4.4.2) And I've searched everywhere for roms for it but they don't exist. Does anyone know what would happen if I tried to install a P900 WiFi TWRP recovery on it, and also install P900 roms on it? I'm with Verizon so I don't care about the cell radio features, and the AT&T "no service" issues are really annoying.
If anyone has tried this, or knows if it would work I'd love to hear about it. I haven't had the best of luck fixing bricked devices, and I definitely don't wanna brick this one.
Thanks!
You can't. It will fail. Locked boot loader.

Different processors so no P900 Rom is ever going to work on it.
Best bet is to wait for root and uninstall AT&T crap.

[Q] Battery Replacement

Hi, I have a S3 (i747m) running cm13 nightlies. My battery has starting getting horrible lifespan. Are the S3 model from the US and Canada essentially the same thing? I would think so as I Was able to install cm13 properly using the at&t version (the US model).
Also, I've been poking around and I would like to your suggestions on batteries that would work well for my phone that are more than 2100mAh.
Thanks,
TechGuyAnthony
