New Choetech Fast Wireless Charger Pad. - Galaxy S6 Edge+ Accessories

I've been amassing a collection of fast wireless chargers to use with my S6 Edge+. I already have the circular Choetech fast wireless charger and the Samsung fast wireless charger. I've been using the newest Choetech fast wireless charging pad during the past week and have been pleased with its performance. Charge times are pretty much identical to the other fast wireless chargers I own. No issues charging with my case on my phone. But just like other fast wireless chargers, don't be surprised if your phone gets a little warm while charging.
However, I really like the build of this charger. The rubber feet on the charger are very sticky and have a strong grip. No worries about the charger sliding around my desk. And I really like the matte finish of this charger, opposed to the glossy finish of my other chargers, which unfortunately are dust and fingerprint magnets.
This charger has a small led indicator on the front of the pad. It's not overly bright, and will turn off when charging is complete. However, unlike the circular Choetech charger, it doesn't have an ambient light sensor that automatically shuts off the led in dim lighting. For those who place their chargers next to their bed, this is a great feature.
Overall, I'm definitely pleased with this charger. I find the performance to be essentially equal among the three different fast wireless chargers I own. If this charger came with a fast charging power adapter at this price, it would be my runaway recommendation.

Why always this product at recent post?

3 Coils Qi charging stand for the Note 4

I just bought a high quality Qi charging stand that I think would worth a shot at $35.99. I love its modern aluminum design and its large charging area with 3 coils. I tried it for several days and it works great and stable with my Note 5.
Here is the link: http://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Char..._1_23?ie=UTF8&keywords=wireless+charger+stand
However, it needs an additional wireless receiver when charging my wife's Note 4. So make sure that your smartphone supports it before you splash out on a wireless charger, or you'll need to buy an extra wireless receiver or a case that enables wireless charging.

Samsung is selling wireless charging cover for Note 4 on Amazon, http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Wireless-Charging-Cover-Galaxy/dp/B00OP5SAAI/
Little bit expensive, but it works great.
I ordered this for my Nexus 5. This wireless charger worked amazing with it. I think it's perfectly suited at the bedside or office. I would recommend it to anyone wanting to buy a great quality product.

As for bedside use, I'm more into their wireless charger with lightning sensor, as the light can go off in the dark.

Does it really make sense to get a single coil or three coil? The coils effect the coverage of wireless charging area but do not effect the speed of charging, am I correct?
3 coils charger can charge with a wild area, nothing about charging speed.

Got mine. So far so good. I can see myself using this charger for a long time to come. Thank you!
Wireless Charging & Cases
Has anyone tried to use the Samsung wireless charging back with a phone case and had it work? In other words, how much "stuff" can be between the coils and the receiver and maintain charging ability and speed?

I use it with the flexible TPU case. It works fine for me, no problems at all.
In fact, it even works for me with the Wireless charging SView case flipped back and placed between the charger and phone. That definitely leaves some gap between the phone and the charger.
What case are you thinking of?
If you're not in a hurry, it's worthwhile to keep an eye on chargers on eBay. I picked up a Keedox folding 3-coils charger for less than $20 (normally $35+) with a well-timed bid, and it's excellent. I also picked up two plastic Chinese 3-coils charging stands for $20 each. Those aren't as good, but they're good enough for my old S3 on my nightstand and my wife's S4.
I do NOT recommend getting charging receivers on eBay, though. Every one I tried from eBay failed within days. I ended up replacing them with receivers off Amazon.
How's the speed though? Been wanting to get a wireless charger but the thought of me waiting for a long time for it to charge is a turn off.

It's slower than wired charging, of course, but when do you charge your phone? If you charge it overnight, then speed doesn't matter. And if your wireless charger is on your desk, it charges every time you set your phone down. That beats the pants off "Doze" in Marshmallow.
If you need a quick charge, just unplug the cord from the charger and plug it into your phone. I never need to do that, myself.

[Review] Tronsmart Chocolate (10W) Fast Wireless Charger

Disclaimer: I was sent this charger in exchange for my fair/unbiased review.
Tronsmart Fast ‘Chocolate’ (10W) Wireless Charger
For those of you that haven’t read any of my reviews, I’m a big fan of several companies one of which is Tronsmart.
First off I’ve owned many devices (phones/tablets) with wireless charging, so over the year’s wireless charging has become a big part of my daily routine. I currently have 5 wireless chargers from various companies, but at one point I had closer to 10 of them. All wireless chargers are designed with difference goals in mind, so with that being said let me start my review.
Tronsmart opted to use the new (faster) wireless charging standard that is supported by Samsung’s flagship phones starting with the S6 Edge+ and Note 5. The original S6/S6E only supported standard wireless charging (from what I recall), therefore this review is aimed primarily at owners of those newer phones. I currently have 3 phones: Google Nexus 6P, Samsung S7 Edge, and a Samsung Note 7; two of this support fast wireless charging.
The charger itself will output 10W to your phone making it slower than using a cable via QC 2.0 (i.e. what Samsung refers to as ‘adaptive fast charging’) although it is still faster and more efficient than standard wireless charging. You can have it charge your phone slow/fast depending on whether or not you toggle the fast wireless charging option in the settings menu to on/off. Personally I prefer to use fast wireless charging over the conventional one because it keeps the phone cooler (yes really).
Design:
While the charger may not look fancy, it is certainly functional. I’ve become accustom to its odd lego like rubbery top, and small size over the past week or so of owning it. The top is very grippy which makes it easier for your phone to stay put since wireless charging needs the phone to stay well positioned. I did not encounter any real issues with the charger while placing my Note 7 or S7 Edge on it, so that was reassuring. On the bottom side of the charger you will find four tiny rubber feel that keep the other end of the charger in place. The input is a QC 2.0/3.0 wall adapter that can be paired with the included MicroUSB (yes I know it’s not a USB-C) port on the back of it. The only arguable bad part of this charger is its affinity to picking up dirt. In the pictures below you can see how dirty it gets, and that was right after I took it out of the box. The charger has stayed relatively clean in my work bag, but you can’t have the best of all worlds with a grippy charger, so I’m not bothered by that as much.
In the Box:
Tronsmart ‘Chocolate’ Wireless Fast Charger
MicroUSB cable
User Manual
Other documentation
Overall:
I like compact form this charger offers along with it’s very nice ‘grippy’ top surface. There are some downsides like it attracting lint, and the microUSB input, but neither of those are big enough concerns to prevent me from recommending it.

[Review] Qi wireless fast charger base from Choetech

This wireless charging pad is about 3" square and about 1/2" thick with very little weight. The top of the unit has 1 anti-slip strip on each side of the top surface to resist phones from slipping off. USB C connector on one side and charging indicator on the opposite side.
Wireless charging is one of the most useful features of a modern phone due to its convenience and flexibility. When I look at wireless chargers the most important is the charging surface and how accurately the device has to be placed on the pad in order to function. This Choetech charger is very convenient in that as long as you are reasonable close to getting it on the pad around the center of the phone, it is good to go.
The next important feature is its ability to charge through cases, This unit can charge through the thickest of cases, an Otterbox Defender on a Galaxy S6. It easily worked on several other cases that were less thick but were made from other materials.
As it is a fast charge capable device it does require a fast charge capable power supply, which is NOT included, but is likely included with your phone. Other fast charge supplies are available separately. It will function using a standard supply, but not in fast charge mode.
On a personal note, I have developed a grand hatred for bright LEDs which has required me to mask off the LEDs on the Samsung branded charging pads with electrical tape. Apparently they thought they were also making flashlights... This Choetech pad has a much more user friendly experience where the LEDs will actually turn off when finished charging and the lights themselves are otherwise more dim.
If this unit could be improved in any way, I'd feel that some sort of guide or glow could be utilized for the placement of a phone on the pad in a dark room. Other than that, this unit is about as perfect of a charging pad as any could want.

they do have a special running on the base at the moment, I suppose the recall is affecting sales or some such.... Although I'm just guessing on that.

I'm planning on modifying the one I have to have neodymium magnets placed in the corners and some metal bits inside my case for them to stick to, but this is experimental at this point. I haven't found a fast charger car mount yet, and I like to engineer solutions rather than buying them.
I have the same one, it works great. However, i don't think you actually need the adaptive fast charger for this. If it is actually 10W as listed, then a 5v x 2A charger would give all the power it needs.
update: never mind, i just tried swapping out for a fast charger adapter, it does make a difference. strange...
This charger pad heated my fathers s5 to the point where the battery expanded and caused the screen to bend

Add Wireless Charging To Your Pixel XL

Hey guys, Rydah805 here with a nice little review on something cool that was sent to me from Chotech; A USB Type-C wireless charging kit. Basically, what it does is awesome by simply adding wireless charging capabilities to devices (such as my Google Pixel XL) that do not support it out of the box. You will obviously need a wireless charging pad for this to have any function. I personally own two, a Samsung branded wireless fast charger and Choetech’s very own wireless fast charger. For this review, I tested using both in which results were the same. Before we begin, I'd like to make it clear that I am in no way associated with Choetech.
How it works is even simpler too. You plug the wireless charging receiver into your USB Type-C charging port, stick the actual wireless charging receiver to the back of your device (sticking not necessary is using a case but do note that it will leave an ever so slight bump with a case.) After plugging it in and having the wireless charging receiver mounted to the back, you're pretty much set. Now when you want to charge your device, you may just dock it onto your wireless charger.
As for wireless charging speed, I wasn’t able to get it to charge “rapidly” as my Google stock charger states, but charging time wasn’t too far off and isn’t noticeable if charging overnight or if just sitting on your desk at work, like me in both of those scenarios.
When it comes to quality of looks and materials, it meets my expectations but then again, what could you really expect? And if you're curious about the specs on this little guy, it is using qi wireless charging technologies with an output of 5v/1a. This is obviously lower than the stock wired charging rates and of course speed but again, if you’re like me, always at your desk or at home, this isn’t too big of a deal. YMMV.
Now for my personal look and opinion on it. I think it’s cool and coming from a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and even more recently, the best worst phone ever, the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 (R.I.P.), wireless charging was definitely missed when switching to the LG V20 and now again with the Google Pixel XL. I definitely like having this as an option and thank Choetech for giving me one to review. Personally, I do not use it quite often as I am a freak about having my phone as thin as possible (thin case fans, where you at!?) but if I weren’t into thin cases, this would stay on my device all the time.
To sum this baby up, it’s great. It gets the job done and does what it came to do, add wireless charging to your incapable device. LOL
8/10 (Wish wireless charging speeds were better but it isn’t a killer for me.)
Link to purchase coming soon.
Looks cool. I really miss having wireless charging since I just plop my phone down on my desk or when it's bed time and I don't have to worry about the port wearing out. This is my first USB C device, so I'm curious to see how well it holds up.
Does your wireless charging pad have much heat when it's charging, both in a case, or if you had direct contact between the receiver and charging pad?

Nope, actually stays about the same temperature wise which is nice. 😁

That sounds pretty cool. The reviews I have read on other ones was that the charge speed was much slower. Don't need rapid charge but standard speed would be more than good enough for me. A few reviews I read said that putting one on a wireless charge dead at night it wouldn't even be fully charged over night. I will probably buy one of these as soon as the link goes up Couldn't find it yet on Amazon.

Question heat in case/ wireless charging

Hi.
Is there any notice of heat build up when wireless charging ? I got an otterbox defender case so its a little thick/ insulating.
I looked at the Samsung wireless charger and it has a builtin cooling fan....So if the mfgr wireless charger has a cooling fan, is the heat buildup a problem? A problem source?
BTW, it is a yootech 10w wireless charger and the phone says it charges faster through the wireless charger than it does through the USB cord powering the wireless charger.
THANKS !
i've been using a Pleson 'fast' wireless charger for years with my GS8+ and now with my GS21+ and while there can be times when the phone is warm to the touch i've never had a problem. I have a Quad Lock case on the device which is a pretty thick back. FWIW I also use the charger on my work-assigned GS20FE w/o issue.
I've put a Vanguard rubber case on my phone. and I'm using Samsung Wireless Charging Powerbank for wireless charging. Yes, the phone warm up while charging. It is a20 watt charger and so far, the only charger that shows "Fast Charging" while charging wirelessly. For wired charging, the fastest charger I've used so far is the 65 Watt Lenovo Laptop charger that comes with my Yoga Laptop. 0 to 50 in just 45 mins. But I got the 2nd fastest charger from a totally unexpected place. It is from IKEA. Yes, IKEA also now making fast chargers. I've bought a 23 watt USB-C + USB-A dual charger with PD 3.0 and it charges pretty fast. at least 1% per minute.
Alright thanks. I havent noticed any warming when using a wired charger...of course it isnt the the new super fast charging plug.

Wireless adds unnecessary heat and right where you least want it, inside the phone.
If you increase the gap (a case) between coils it may create more waste heat than a coupling that is closer. Air core transformers aren't very efficient.
I never use wireless but do use fast charging.
