Technically, any receiver will work well with any charger. The thing you need to look for is a charger that can output 5V at 1A. Pretty much every charger will have that rating so it's hard to mess that one up. As far as the receiver goes, the higher the current output the better (measured in "ma"). And by "better" I mean the phone will charge faster. I have a 1A (1000ma) receiver in my Note 4. It charges pretty quickly, but interferes with NFC. Also, a higher current for a receiver typically means it will also be thicker, making the back of your phone bulge more.
Which charger and receiver are the most durable/well built is a much more difficult question to answer as there are so many to pick from. Just think about how you want to use it, do you want your phone tilted up at you while it's charging? Do you want a super grippy pad so your phone won't walk off the pad when it vibrates? Do you want it to be portable like the mobile pal 2 in 1? The best charger for you will be dependant on how you answer those questions.
Similar questions need to be asked for the receiver. Do you want it to work with NFC? Will you generally just use wireless charging to charge overnight? If so you can get away with a smaller, lower current receiver since you won't need quick charging. If you'll be charging throughout the day you'll want to get a receiver with a higher current rating.

From my research online, the CHOETECH Stadium seems to be one of the best rated chargers (if you're not going for the official Samsung setup). I've ordered one and am awaiting its arrival, along with the FoneSalesman N4 SlimPWRCard.

The CHOETECH Stadium has 3 coils as opposed to some chargers that only have one - from what I've read that makes for faster charging and less problems positioning the phone correctly. This is my first foray into wireless charging though, so I'm only repeating what I've read online, not speaking from experience
I use fonesalesman powercard, and my trusty Nokia Qi charger. The thing is you have to find the right spot for the Qi receiver and charger to line up, then it will charge as it should.

I'm using a modified official wireless cover (removed guts) and the tylt vu. It works really well for me.

Glad you got sorted out and it's working well. Just got the CHOETECH Stadium (which is also 3 coils) set up and the FoneSalesman N4 SlimPWRCard installed. So far very impressed - the card is unnoticeable except for that slight bulging below the flash, which isn't really visible at all in a case. You can basically 'throw' the phone down onto the charging pad without having to worry too much about positioning. So far I have only used the CHOETECH connected to a PC USB port, not a wall adapter, but even at that, with the phone powered on, I got 10% of charge in an hour (65%-75%). Expecting even better results tonight with the CHOETECH plugged into the Samsung charger and the phone off. In any case, it's great to have that trickle charge while you're sitting working at the computer, without having to plug in. Yay for wireless charging
EDIT: Got just over 10% in half an hour with the charger plugged into the Samsung adaptor, and charging through a UAG case. :good:
EDIT 2: Charged phone overnight from 1% to 100%, it took approximately 5 hours. Good thing is there were no beeps or sounds from either the phone or the charger, and no noticeable 'hum' from the charger either - so good for bedside usage

Little bit expensive, but it works great.

As for bedside use, I'm more into their wireless charger with lightning sensor, as the light can go off in the dark.

Does it really make sense to get a single coil or three coil? The coils effect the coverage of wireless charging area but do not effect the speed of charging, am I correct?
3 coils charger can charge with a wild area, nothing about charging speed.

I use it with the flexible TPU case. It works fine for me, no problems at all.
In fact, it even works for me with the Wireless charging SView case flipped back and placed between the charger and phone. That definitely leaves some gap between the phone and the charger.
What case are you thinking of?
If you're not in a hurry, it's worthwhile to keep an eye on chargers on eBay. I picked up a Keedox folding 3-coils charger for less than $20 (normally $35+) with a well-timed bid, and it's excellent. I also picked up two plastic Chinese 3-coils charging stands for $20 each. Those aren't as good, but they're good enough for my old S3 on my nightstand and my wife's S4.
I do NOT recommend getting charging receivers on eBay, though. Every one I tried from eBay failed within days. I ended up replacing them with receivers off Amazon.
How's the speed though? Been wanting to get a wireless charger but the thought of me waiting for a long time for it to charge is a turn off.

It's slower than wired charging, of course, but when do you charge your phone? If you charge it overnight, then speed doesn't matter. And if your wireless charger is on your desk, it charges every time you set your phone down. That beats the pants off "Doze" in Marshmallow.
If you need a quick charge, just unplug the cord from the charger and plug it into your phone. I never need to do that, myself.

I use a Choetech Fast Wireless charger Stand. Its loading very good. First i used a pad with two coils, witch is loading my Galaxy s3 good. But it cannot charge the Lepro 3 and mi mix 2 fast.
The Choetech is good and i can recommend it.
In combination with a qc 3.0 loader.
I dont use this wireless function to load 0 - 100% in 2h.
I agree with u, its loading slow.
But i hate it always plug in and plug out.
I use a thick leather flip cover, it eats always min. 200mah.
With silicone backcover the charging is over 1A

You sir, are correct. It's a gimmick for lazy people who will have to wait 4x the length just because they can't be bothered plugging a cable in.

Pro, it's cool for a while, but the idea and practicality quickly wears off.
Con, if you need to flash a lot of different roms, or transfer files quickly, you will need to remove the wireless adaptor type c plug, and if you are like most on the Mi mix forums, you will eventually break it. It's the inevitable fragility of the wireless adaptor, it will break.
Con, it charges much, much slower than qualcomm 3.0
Pro, it charges slowly, which is better in the long term for battery longevity.
Con, every time you take it off and on from the wireless pad (especially at night, if you leave it on your dresser close to you) it makes a loud beep.
Pro, you can cause much less damage to your Type C port (less so, on the newer type universally pluggable type c ports) by the constant plug, unplugging, by using wireless charging.
Con, it is ugly, and stick out like a bad tattoo on the back of your phone if you are using a clear case.
Con, you cannot have wireless charging pad, if you like to use a magnetic car holder. The metal plate on the back of the case, will cause immense heat if you place your metal pad + phone case + onto the wireless charging pad. And, it won't work.
Con, if your late and you need a seriously quick charge, the wireless charging won't be able to help you out in a jam / urgency.
Con, if you are requiring a charge, most places simply do not have (friends, neighbour, client, airport, office etc) wireless charging available.
Con, Nilken has a cool setup, to give you the best of both worlds in terms of being able to use magnetic car holder and wireless charging pad capability, but it doesn't solve the blocked port access or ease of availability.
So, in the end, I went down that route once, but never went back to it.
I did have a smartphone that was wirelessly chargeable, but even though the micro USB port was free, I was still annoyed by the slow charge rates, and the beeping on and off of the home base charger (or, if it didn't beep, it was the charging flash led that annoyed me).

Not wearing out your Type C port is a big Pro - I had people not believing me that the purchased phone is used. - If you use cases and screen protectors before you even touch your phone with bare hands...
I have long ignored wireless charging, because it's so much slower than wired fast-charging. I keep seeing mentions of the Note wireless charging capability, but I'm still unclear on whether wireless is now as fast? Doubt it, but am I wrong? Would especially love a fast wireless charging solution in the car, that was as fast as the fasted wired option. Does that exist yet? Or do I need to check again in 2-3 years?
Wireless charging is not as fast. Note9 also uses adaptive fast charging 2.0. Fast but not as fast as other standards. I would concern myself about fast charging only when needed. I use wireless charging exclusively at night to slow charge my battery. I think Samsung chose adaptive 2.0 to help with longevity of phone because fast charging does not help with longevity of battery. I am still pressuring companies to unseal the batteries. The environment is more important than being able to take a shower with your phone or not having to worry about dropping it in the toilet because you can't wait five minutes.
The appeal of wireless charging is so you didn't have to reach for a power cord to plug in your phone every time you wanted to charge it. I just upgraded to the Note 9 from my Note 4. When I had a new battery in it, wireless charging only took about 20 minutes longer than the cord. As the battery got older, it did seem to take longer with the wireless charging. For me, if I'm just at home, I use wireless charging. If I'm about to go out in the next 30 minutes for a while and the battery power is kinda low, I plug it in to get a fast full charge. Plugging in the phone all the time is a drag. You are missing out on a cool feature while wasting years waiting for something better. I keep a separate power cord next to my wireless charger. That way I can decide if I just want the phone to get charged using wireless, or if I need a fast quick charge with the cord. You aren't just stuck with wireless charging just because you bought one. A flat wireless charger is just $15 on Amazon. It works just as well as the $60 Duo charger from Samsung, although it does offer fast charging. Not worth that kind of money though. Plus it is big and takes up too much space.

The duo dock is 12W charging. The wired charging is 15W. As for in the car fast wireless docks. I have yet to see one.

I have one. Works well. Got it from Indiegogo, backed a project called the MAGQI X: The Smartest Wireless Car Charger Mount...
It charges faily well but I did find on my Note 8 it was only just holding power as I used GPS...Mind you, that could be caused by the case I had it in, my Note 9 seems to pick up the power pretty quick...
So, can the Note 9 handle the 12W wireless charge or is it limited to 10W? I see the comment above regarding the Duo Dock, but that doesn't necessarily mean that it supports it and I have not been able to find the exact spec on the matter elsewhere to confirm one way or another.

It appears to support 15W Qi charging but it's been a while since I've bought any wireless chargers and there still isn't much information out there (or great selection of chargers). I'm worried companies are using proprietary technology (like G-Sync from NVIDIA) to lock out other phone vendors from taking advantage of something. The concern is if the charger would work with LG phones, considering it's explicitly calling out Samsung and iPhone charging. It could be that they're doing this because of market share/popularity of the devices, but I don't know that.
The image on Amazon does say "Other" and show support for "5-15W certified" as being "faster, peak charging" but you know how these images on Amazon are.. and how things sometimes tend to be picky regardless...

Otherwise, does anyone know of a charger that supports fast Qi charging and will automatically shut off when the battery is full (instead of cycling on and off every second like my Panasonic QE-TM101-K), supports fastest possible Qi charging on the V30 and isn't finicky about where you place the phone?
I was checking out the Belkin F7U014dqSLV but it appears to have many complaints about being finicky about phone placement. I don't like these chargers that require the phone to be placed precisely.... it almost entirely defeats the purpose of using a wireless charger.
Also, wow... not only should phone companies start adding battery limitation settings straight into the phone's OS but these chargers should have the option to define a maximum charge % too.
I want one specifically that is a pad rather than something that props the phone up (stand).
What are your experiences and recommendations for 15W Qi chargers?
Umidigi Q1. Umidigi is actually a phone company itself and like LG got carried away with Qualcomm's lousy fast wireless charging claims - so they had to make their own fast wireless charger; which happens to be the Umidigi Q1.
Fast charging speed with original V30 charger is very good. I have observed 30% increase in 30 minutes.
But you must find the correct spot on this small round device to start charging. From what I am experiencing so far, V30 must sit a little bit lower than the middle of the charger : then V30 reports it is fast wireless charging and also charges fast.

I didn't know there was a reply to this... anyways I placed my order on December 31st for the ZENS and I can report that it works well and is worth the price. It isn't cheap stuff at all. The power adapter for the wall comes with 3 swappable prongs for regional sockets and even the twist tie on the cable isn't cheap plastic garbage like many cheap products are. While the brand is relatively unknown, they seem to actually be making pretty premium products. The charger successfully Fast Charges the V30+ via Qi and even works through the Spigen Tough Armor case.
Regarding the original charger, my phone didn't come with one and I intend on using wireless charging partially because I want to avoid plugging a USB cable into the phone as much as possible to prolong the life of the port.

I picked up one of these ZENS chargers yesterday from Amazon for my B&H US998 V30S. I had the opposite experience from s0lidsneak. I put the phone on the charger before I went to bed. I got the "fast wireless charging" message and another one stating that full charge would be achieved in 1 hr 5m. About 6 hours later, it had only gone from 53% to 73%. The phone was VERY warm, and the charger itself was almost too hot to touch. I had it in the upright position, the entire reason I bought this charger.
I'll try it again tonight, but if I can't get better charging speed out of this without it warming up the phone so much, it's going back. Any thoughts on what I might have done wrong or why it's doing this would be appreciated.

There's no upright position on the charger I linked but they do make one like that. The phone can get pretty hot if I use the Battery Limit app and put it on that charger but for normal charges it seems to only get moderately warm, which is to be expected when charging a battery and since 2013 when I used wireless charging I noticed it gets a little warmer than a regular cable charge too. Haven't had any extreme overheats like you have using the model I linked but have no experience with whichever one you bought.
I'm new to any kind of "fast charging" as the only other wirelessly charged phone I've had was a Nexus 5 but I think it's normal for it to get a little warmer than a slow charge. As far as how long it's taking you to charge, that's very strange and I have more of a feeling that's a battery/battery calibration issue or maybe the phone is having trouble staying connected to the charger, in which case I'd blame the charger for not having appropriately positioned coils to be suitable for all phones. Oops, you're correct. I purchased the other model, ZESC07BA, which does have an upright mode. I want to be able to see the phone from bed. The V30S is my first Qi capable phone so I'm new to this as well.
I have no idea why it looks like it's fast charging, but took so long to show any increase. It never made it to 100% before I had to get up. Plus, it's roasting the phone. I expected some heat, but the charger was almost too hot to touch. I may just go back to wired charging. My phone wasn't even warm, (at least not through the case), when I wired charged it. Plan on keeping this a while so I don't want to limit it's lifespan by overheating it.
In reading some of the Amazon reviews, other's have said that it gets pretty hot as well. I'll give it one more shot, but if it can't charge the phone in one night, it's going back.

Maybe you should email the company. Their responses aren't very fast (a few days) but they do answer. Maybe you have a defective unit?
I just tested the charger I bought with the V30+ from 53% to 73%:
The ambient temp before charge was 19 C and battery temp was 27 C.
The ambient temp after charge hasn't changed and the battery temp is 37.5 C.
It took 20 minutes to charge from 53% to 73%.
The charge limit is set to 81% (I knew it hit 73% by tapping to wake the screen).
The Spigen Tough Armor case was on the phone.
According to IMEI lookup, the phone was produced on October 14th, 2017.
I decided to return it because it isn't as simple to position the phone on it as I first thought. After spending more time with the charger I think it's too much of a hassle trying to position it. I think I may have just gotten lucky on the first attempts the night I got it.
The rest of the points are still valid. It's well-made as far as build quality and charges quickly. I just dislike how difficult it is to place the phone.
Additionally, my monitor just died on me and I need to save up to replace it. I'll go for another charger later and will probably pick up this before a Qi charger I can decide on comes along.

My wife was having trouble lining up her phone correctly when placing it on her wireless charger. So decided to make a base or guide for her charging pad so her phone would line up correctly every time. First I made a prototype out of cardboard, then I 3D printed the final design. Works like a charm and she loves it!

Or use tilted charger so you can see notifications also. Can't mess it up.

This why I only wanted a stand type one. I can just rest it on there, vertical or horizontal working on mine, and it just works. Also easy to read on the desk.

That's a cool idea.. I wish the chargers were just large to begin with though.

I was thinking of getting one of those next time.. a tilted one... Maybe just leave it at my PC and not worry about charging at bed since the battery is so much better than the Nexus 5.
Also about notifications.. would sure be a lot better if the screen could light up when receiving them. I don't understand why it doesn't... especially since the phone lacks a notification light.
I would also love to be able to see notifications with previews on that screen instead of requiring I use always on then seeing a little icon there indicating a notification exists.
The metal one by Anker is by far the fastest one. I have the white stand with cooling fan one too. But the metal one is definitely faster. I mean not a huge amount faster but it's definitely faster. Would explain the extra heat. I mean Anker didn't start advertising support for 15w phones until the the metal one.

The White Stand didn't even work with the included charger for me. I just want something that doesn't take ten minutes to position my phone to charge it. Even the large anker pad is a pain in the ass.

The metal one doesn't really have any positioning issues, I have positioning issues with the white one but it sounds like they aren't as bad as yours were.
From as far as I can tell the metal one will start charging as soon as it defects proper positioning. Like it won't say it isn't positioned properly with the led, it just charges when it defects the phone. The only time I got the pad to say it isn't positioned properly was after like 5-10 minutes of trying to see if it even did that. And I was actually holding the phone above the charger to fool it lol.
In regards to the metal pad , it runs cool when used atop a thermal pad I had laying around.
But I'm gonna stick to the white stand and use a magnetic micro USB cable to avoid strain on the port if it gets knocked over by one of my dogs. I can already tells it's loose.
And the metal pad seems to only run hot during the initial fast charging, like how it charges really fast and really hot with a cable, then slows down the charging the closer you get 100%. I've never had it feel hot to the touch when I wake up.
Maybe look into a car charger one? Some of them advertise as useful when taped to a desk or whatnot
Would the LG G3 wireless charger fit the LG V30 +?

All V30 variants have Qi wireless charging feature. Any Qi wireless charging pad will work. Some do charge faster than others, however.
The newer ones have more power. A Qi wireless charging pad for LG G3 would be from 2014. (I've used Qi wireless charging pad since 2013, but as the technology has improved I've ditched the older ones.) But yes, it would work.
