HDMI Out ... ?? - LG V10 Accessories

I admit I didnt search for too long..
But does the V10 support Video Out? Either with an mHL Adaptor or HDMI or any other means? My previous device used mHL and it worked great.
Any info would be great.
TIA

Good question. I'll test with my mhl adapter and post back.

It did not work with my mhl adapter. Mine is the Samsung one so that might be why, but I'm not sure.

Did a quick search, and it supports up to 4k out via a slimport adapter.

Don't think there's more than one type as I think it's a standard. At least they're on the inexpensive side. [emoji1]

I've also been searching for this answer. MHL doesn't work. Slimportconnect just added the V10 to the list, so it should work. However there are many different brands, most with spotty reviews. Would love to hear from someone who has had success with the V10 specifically and with what brand.

Amazon or ebay. Best Buy or Frys might have it also.

This is the one I got to hook up to my cars radio (I can watch netflix on the big screen now, haha!) - http://www.amazon.com/Analogix-Semi...zon+Fire,+Blackberry+Passport,+Nexus+5,+LG+G3
It works with no issues so far....

I've used right now my SlimPort that worked with my historical LG G2.
worked fine, charging my phone, audio and video through HDMI.

Awesome, thanks info. I find screen mirroring with the chromecast works awesome, but not for games.

I just bought this SlimPort adapter from Analogix. It's a new model, comes with a remote and explicitly supports 4K. It's called the Nano.Console. http://www.nanoconsole.com It's just coming off of an Indiegogo campaign (still sold through Indiegogo for now). Looks very promising. Compatible with the LG V10. I'm waiting to receive the unit (ordered yesterday).

Will do. Shipping is a bit slow. It's shipping from California and I'm in Arizona. Their customer service says they ship within 2 weeks. It should ship some time this week, since I bought it on the 19th.

Unsure whether anyone wants another report on this, but I'm able to confirm success with this. Officially the standard is "MyDP", but they're better known as "Slimport". Thankfully the adapters aren't too expensive, such as this one for $15: Unitek (NewEgg)
It works fine without power (micro-USB) plugged in. With power plugged in it can in fact charge mine. Problem is you really need a USB cable with thick wires, otherwise there is barely enough power to keep the V10 at its existing power level. Either way I can confirm video out is useable on an LG V10.
Apparently if you've got a device with USB-C you can use video out and at the same time have a computer talking to your phone via `adb`. Sigh, one more extra feature people who could wait a year got.
Hmm, I've noticed more recently the device has been acting a bit flaky. Not a super big deal, but enough to be an annoyance. Might be it doesn't like being powered on so long or could be it is only good enough to last 3-6 months.

HTC Media Link For Sale - Used once for 15 minutes

My brother bought it when he was in Pennsylvania on his way home. He used once yesterday at our house. He didn't care too much about it so he wanted me to sell it.
It retails for $89.99 from T-Mobile.
It has everything. The Media Hub, HDMI, power adapter, USB cable, manuals, box.
Throw me offers. Don't lowball me or else I will discontinue my One S toolkit . U.S.A only and I accept PayPal. Sorry guys.
What would be your lowball figure, the one that you absolutely well not go below?

Anyone know if this will work with a receiver HDMI input vs direct to the HDMI on the TV? My setup has all my electronics in another room and I would love to hook this up via HDMI to my receiver and be able to "switch" to it as needed.
thanks...

Micro USB to HDMI

I'm thinking of getting a HDMI-out cable for the Nexus 4, which I believe is called a Slimport adaptor.? I've looked online and only found one on Amazon which was quite pricey. There were a few others called 'Micro USB MHL to HDMI' which at first glance appear to be the same - one Micro USB side, one HDMI side. Are these the same thing, and should they work?
I'm in the UK, so if anyone spots anything suitable please let me know.
Have a search. Theres about 4 threads looking at slimport, mhl, or comparing the two.
Thanks. I found one topic but it was inconclusive.

Android stick with scart connector

I was wondering if there are and android sticks with a scart connector.
Since I have a very old TV and getting one with a HDMI connector isn't an option for me I was hoping if there is a product like this.
If So, what are the costs of this product.
The ones I've seen So far are all HDMI.
I am aware that there are HDMI to SCART cables but they are a bit to expensive.
Thanks in advance

no offence dude but if you can afford a pc, an internet connection, a mini pc, power to power it, you can afford to buy a $2/£2 hdmi-scart adaptor from ebay :good:

Yes, that cable will not work - converting HDMI to scart is not that simple. Best bet is to get the stick with the a/v output I mentioned above....
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda premium
i was really just using that link as an example , the proper cable should be there somewhere, and are you sure it wont work? im sure ive used a xbox360 converter before with no probs on an old tv at my sisters
edit: if the cable above is wrong as mentioned then jetfin's option probably seems the easiest route.
however i cant find any support for this device so if you do run into a problem which lets face it with these sticks you probably will at some point, theres not gonna be much help.
also something to note :c+p'd from the website
"""""Now on to the less than stellar bit. The camera. We were all excited because we thought we’d found a bargain basement way to add Skype video calling to our TV (compared to products like the Logitech Skype camera which costs hundreds of dollars). But to our dismay Skype refused to work with the dongle, and not only Skype. We tried Tango too, and even Google Talk failed to load. So it looks like there’s either a) a bug in the firmware or b) the thing is designed not to let you access the camera via a video chat application.
It totally ruins the point of having a camera in the device, what else are you going to do, photograph (or video) yourself sitting on the couch? Not really, eh?"""""
360 outputs in interlaced too. I'm guessing you would need to have a deinterlacer too. There is a hdfury that converts to VGA then you could VGA> to rgb thru a deinterlacer prob only cost couple of hundred quid lol

I find myself without a charging cable

Gentlemen
I have forgotten my charger at home and won't be back for a few days but I need my tablet for class. So I ask do I have any options? Or do any local stores carry the cable?

I would try the local Best Buy store.
I'm not 100% sure, but maybe nexus7 cable can work. And if that can be confirmed, you're more likely to find that at staples, best buy, etc.

Note that you still need the TF charger - with standard 5 volt USB, it may take more than 24 hours for a full charge.

I don't know for sure, but I don't think the N7 has the same charger, since I believe that uses a regular micro USB.
Why wouldn't you check caseen. They seem to have TF chargers in stock on their website.

Ahh, thanks for confirming.
I wasn't entirely sure and was basing it on the fact that n7 also built by Asus and that my zagg power supply will only charge my phone and not tablet.
Only after buying zagg power and trying to use it unsuccessfully for tablet, I saw it said online that it won't work with n7, but they didn't mention our tablets, so I thought same cables etc. Oh well, good to know. Now I've just realized I've never seen (irl) or played with a n7 yet, wow.
Good luck op!

I haven't found any local stores that carry any accessories when my cat chewed up mine. Amazon has a few different brands. There is one that houses the wires in rubber instead of the normal plastic that I liked. Its also 6' long which is nice.

Kickstarter backed microSD card reader!

Just received my kickstarter backed project, microSD Card reader. Project cost me about $12
Www.meenova.com
This adapter allows you to plug an sdcard into your phone microSD port and transfer/read files.
I have to say this thing came out really nice, the blue light was a nice touch. So far its worked on everything I've plugged it into (galaxy nexus, nexus 7, Gs4, RAZR M)
Package contained:
MicroSD to microUSB reader
MicroUSB to USB adapter for PC
Keychain clip

Nice one, cheers for posting this, ordered one mainly to use with nexus 7 but this could be great at transfering stuff quickly to my S4 and the advantage of being small and unobtrusive like an otg cable and flash drive.
This could really change my mind about getting the upcoming nexus 5.Although i think they're great phones I thought i'd never get one because of the poor storage and no sd slot but as the extra space i need would be for music files i would only need to plug it in when listening. rest of the time it would be on my keys.
My only concern is how secure and safe from knocks the sd card is when inside the reader and inside my pocket. I'm pretty forceful when dry humping bins and bollards when waitnig for buses. Can anyone comment on this? (The sd card safety not my dry humping?)
