hi..
i hav this problem with my tab 2 p3100..and its bit annoying me for som time nw.
i was using the cyanogenMod (CM 12.1) by @Android-Andi ..the earlest build..bt due to some soft reboot problm i changed to official cyanogenmom 11 nighties. and its respective gapps..
aftr some days its started showing "unfortunately process.com.google.process.gapps has stopped" message continuously..it was annoying ..it also shows fc messages of most of the apps installed including trebuchet app.
so i thought its a rom issue or gapps issue..so chaged by rom to stable official jellybean cyanogenmod and its gapps..but agn i encounter similr annoying problem of "unfortunately process.com.google.process.gapps has stopped" message and other apps
atlast i chage bac to Android-Andi's cyanogenMod (CM 12.1) and lollipop Base Gapps package for 5.1.1 by Deltadroid..
bt i am stll having same problem..first i thought its a sofware problm ..nw am confused whtr its a hardware problm..
please help me
I had some of this trouble once, It was fixed by installing stock rom for a few days then returning to CM11, it seems something wrong with our eMMC, may be disabling on the kernel trim caused it, on stock trim is working, Anyway on returning to CM11 it's much slower than it used to be before, So I am now with Next Rom from ketut.kumajaya, A good smooth stock based rom and could be the smoothest among stock based roms.

Urw, If it doesn't get fixed for CM11, you may try Next rom, It's a non-laggy stock rom even in games it's as cm11.

ok...i wll try..bt crrnly i am running it on slimkat..and its wrks ok..so wll keep it runnig fr som days..
It will come back again after a few days. I haven't discovered any permanent fixes but resetting app preferences in app settings helps. If even Settings is also FCing then go to recovery do backup and restore. You don't need to have old backups, you can backup the broken ROM itself and restore it. That way you can restart and not face Settings FC. Then you can reset preferences and the problem will go away for sometime.
Issue might be lollipop or the recent stock gapps post-PA Gapps era. Stock gapps get very close to occupying system partition during installation itself. Try having a smaller Gapps and download any google app you require from playstore

Hi guys,
Well, after having my P5100 (Samsung G. Tab 2, 10.1) with a stock rom, I've decided to change it for a Cyanogen stable rom, dated of 2013-09-23 19:17:17. Stock rom (4.2.2) was very slow, with lots of lag on it.
I have done everything as the "manual" says, and installed the above mentioned rom. It became more fluid, and more simple. Perfect.
But i am having here an issue, that I don't know how to solve it.
The thing is that I usually read newspapers on my Tab. This works as it follows:
1. we download an app of the newspaper,
2. every time we have a new edition we receive a notification by email, saying that the new issue is available for download;
3. we open the app and start downloading;
4. after downloading, it starts installing the newspaper (since it is a bit interactive and not just a .pdf)
Since I changed to Cyanogen, with the same 4.2.2 as I had on stock rom, when the newspapper installation comes to end, the app simply closes with error. From that moment, I can't even open the app since it simply will close again with error.
Any ideas how to solve this that doesn't require getting back to stock rom?
Many thanks! :good:

Hi there,
I've tried what you suggested, the error still happens.
I really don't know why it runs on Android 4.2.2 stock, and don't on Android 4.2.2 cyanogen.
Thanks anyway. If you remember anything else to suggest, I would appreciate.

yeah why not
some apps dont run in cyno rom where as they run without any problems in stock one
whatsapp is a common example of this bug it give problems in cyanogenmod roms sometimes
try older version of the newspaper app it may run
good luck :good::good:
I own the boost mobile XT1031 model and finally decided to unlock the bootloader and root the device. Everything was going fine. But not Google search and chrome wont work. Search crashes and gives me an option to report it. Chrome and chrome beta fail to connect to the Internet even though other apps such as Facebook, REddit and other Google apps connect just fine. When i go to enable now cars it says that i need to check my Internet connection. The only other thing that has changed is the font is different for some reason. I did install a few xposed modules to change the look and feel, such as Gravitybox, Android L Theme, and tinted status bar. They seemed to have no effect on the device in a negative way. I also had greenify but i only had it hibernating apps i hardly used. If anyone knows what to do to fix this it would be very appreciated.
I would like to add that the issues are still persistent even after factory reseting the phone. I am running stock rom, Would it be possible to get rid of these problems by reflashing the original rom or flashing a custom rom? I am also using TWRP. I do have a backup of before the issues started but that is on my laptop which i won't be near until Wednesday. Thank you again in advance.
I would try flashing back to stock or your original recovery and try the different xposed modules one by one to see which (if any) are causing the issues. Have you tried installing a custom rom?

No custom ROM yet, I was thinking about flashing CM11 but so far have no other plans. I have a backup saved on my computer from before i installed the different modules, would that fix the issue of the crashing apps and font?

It should, but you may want to update your apps to current versions as well after the restore. I don't know how old your backup is, but updating may solve some your issues.
I would definitely resist the urge to try any lollipop roms on the xt1031, as their are numerous connectivity issues at this point for cdma. But there are some great KitKat Roms (CM11 is one of them) available. I'm currently using PA.

Thank you, I resisted the urge and now there is a soak test zip so ill be doing that soon.
I restored the backup, it was 2 days old, and everything is working fine now. Adaway for youtube was the cause of the crashing, as for the font change, i'm not sure.
I'm currently running the feb14 build cm12 of daniel_hk, and I'm experiencing lots of hangs and lags now and then... Apps dont run as smooth as when I was on 4.1.2 especially CoC. Really don't know why (but still cheers to the dev for all the effort)
I'm now planning on changing the rom temporarily, while I wait for a few updates. Especially a Kitkat one. What kitkat rom for my P6200 will be the most stable? CarbonRom or Omni?
I recall trying both and was getting more hangs / reboots in carbon, so I'd say try omni. However nothing more stable than stock JB imo, probably due to full sources never being made available for this model.
Have you try CM 12.1 latest build? I use it as my daily, much more stable than the 14 Feb build, using it for CoC without any issues (no sudden reboots). As for kitkat, i agreed with skurys, better use stock JB than kitkat carbon or omni. Cheers
Installation Aborted

Hi,
I have read the post from Daniel for CM 12.1. It seems very interesting and promising especially after reading the comments from different members about the stability and speed of this ROM. I have followed the procedure to install this ROM as below:
1. Rooted my P6200
2. Flashed cwm-6.0.4.5-p6200.tar via. ODIN as TWRP .zip was giving problem. This was also mentioned in a suggestion from another member in this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=41214833&postcount=215
3. Once rooted I installed SuperSU and BusyBox without any problems
4. Wipe the data
5. WIpe the cache
6. Npw when I tried to flash the latest build of CM12.1 i.e. available here https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=33760, I am getting error. Here is the error message :
"ApplyPArsedPerms: lsetfilecon of /system/lost+found to ubject_r:system_file:s0 failed: Operation not supporoted on transport endpoint".
E:Error in /storage/sdcard1/<filepath>
(Status 7)
Installation aborted."
I am also attaching a screen shot of the error message for easy understanding and reference. Is this something related to my SD Card/Storage?
I created a back up before flashing so I have restored back to stock with that backup but no luck flashing this ROM. Am I doing something wrong?
Also, since I am junior member I am not allowed to post OR reply directly to that thread.
I cannot finish before appreciating and thanking Daniel for his gr8/wonderful work for the Galaxy Tab throughout his projects. We can use these tabs for some more time now. Thanks you so much.
Please help me..
i think i wanna revert back to stock .. cause so far i install to many version of OS, no such as 1 stable..
included latest release of carbon rom, still have an issue with WiFi can't stored password as well, each time on the signal, need to re-enter the password..
message flickering while trying adding some recipent ..
Hi there members of xda
A few months ago i updated to marshmallow on my moto g3 , and the experience was awful, not to mention the touch screen issues. I successfully downgraded to lollipop by skipping gpt.bin and bootloader.img, and i used lollipop for a while then got bored of it, so i tried to install cm13 official. When i did that , my phone gets google play store and google play services FC's on cm13. I have set google play services all permissions .. I have tried a wide variety of gapp packages and they all have the same problem. Google play store instantly crashes when i tap it, if that helps atall.
For now, i reflashed marshmallow stock. Should i be flashing cm13 from stock mm , or stock lp.. becuase i havent tried flashing using stock mm , becuase i didnt think it would make a difference as i always wipe the system partition before flashing cm anyway. :/
Many thanks,

Which gapps did you use? If you are having issues on cm try CrDroid or BrokenOS (go to their G+ community)
Btw, on the cm thread Alberto posted a fix for the touchscreen issues.

I installed an old build of cm in the end and then updated to new version via ota. thanks anyway !
This is a list of Nougat ROMs for this device and it's clones.
The list will be in the following format:
ROM : Version : Device : Tested/Untested
LineageOS : 14.1 : MMXC5 / E481 : Untested
Resurrection Remix : 5.8.4 : MMXC5 / E481 : Tested
crDROID : v3.5 : MMXC5 / E481 : Tested
AOSGPX : 7.1.2 : MMXC5 / E481 : Untested
There are also ROMs for the Elephone P8000, however the first time I tried one I got into a bootloop. It could just have been that I didn't wipe my caches, or it could have been a fault in the ROM; nonetheless I haven't tried any others from that device.
I couldn't find any for other devices, let me know if you see others.
Here is the factory firmware, as according to this post (Direct Download).
Also, the stock recovery: Original Post | Direct Download.
Im currently running crDroid and I couldn't be happier. Runs far better than the original firmware and the useless marshmallow update.

Have you encountered any bugs with crDroid? Did screen on time and standby increase by any good margin because doze and other os optimizations? With stock I get 7hrs SOT with LTE half the day. 5hrs if Skype calls and such.

Only bug so far is the kill app button not working (long press the back button) and sometimes after reboot sim cards not being detected. Usually it corrects itself after a few minutes. If not, I'll just re-flash the fix
Battery gets drained pretty fast compared to lollipop, but then again I used lollipop with xposed, greenify and amplify.

Happy to hear only minor bugs. I'm waiting on black Friday SD card to ship and then I'll be able to test too.
On lollipop all I needed to use was power nap to kill unwanted wake locks. I'll definitely try to get it to work because batter life is important to me. Only reason I'm upgrading is because of older exploits that stock didn't get updates for. Other than that stock with xposed is extremely stable for me.(30-60 days between reboots)
Do you know if crDroid is using stock lollipop kernel or is it a ported kernel? That would effect battery life greatly I suppose.
review of roms
Review time. Installed and tested these roms by wiping dalvik cache, system, data, cache and internal storage. Flashed ROM then gapps then "front camera flash" patch lastly flashed sim patch. Afterwards I wiped cache and dalvik cache again before rebooting. Once I had access to settings I disabled display live/night mode/blue filter for all ROMs.
All the roms tested used about 1GB of ram (and stock ROM being around <600MB.).
Resurrection Remix : 5.8.4 : Looks to me a part of this rom was made by another group of people that were not given credit.. Default browser loads the homepage of the other group. The system FM radio app was asking for root permission(denied it). Also it had email services running before I added any accounts can't remember this being the norm. Other than that this ROM ran the best in terms of speed and ui. Uninstalled because of security concerns.
LineageOS : 14.1 : This ROM has about the same speed as resurrection which is good but the ui stuttered/not smooth. Uninstalled because ported by same user as resurrection.
crDROID : v3.5 : This one ran the worse. It was slow and stuttered throughout the ui. Missed some customizations that Resurrection had so not sure why any one would want to use this instead.
AOSGPX : Didn't bother installing because last I heard they copied and pasted code from crDRoid.
At the end of the day I reverted back to stock because of security concerns. As well as having more ram available for apps. If I had more than one phone phone I would wireshark/test connections of the ROMs to confirm but I do not have. Hopfully this helps someone.

Just wondering with the ROM testing, did you disable the LiveDisplay nonsense? It drops my FPS to about 10, and is enabled by default.
Sorry, didn't read your whole post. I didn't find UI stuttering unless I enabled weird kernel stuff, or had L Speed installed.
Does anyone happen to know if any of these ROMs fix the problem that the official MM caused which was that all camera apps created a very dark image and took extremely dark photos?

sucktastic battery life (not like the original firmware was good to begin with) no compass (gmaps will point north regardless of your orientation) as soon as you install the google app (okay google!) the device will run a bit slower.

Wow, thorough, thanks. Don't know what half those things are but I'll look them up. I guess there's no way to go straight back to Lollipop without flashing a stock ROM. I mean, by rooting it now maybe and then downgrading or something?

You could flash a lollipop twrp backup, if anyone uploaded one or if you made one before. But if you don't have it, only way is by sp flash tool and original firmware (which is not a recovery flashable zip).
Been using the Crdroid rom for a few weeks now. Havn't had any lag or extreme battery issues. Im interested in trying the resurrection remix rom since it was tested to be the fastest, tho them security issues are kinda holding me back. One thing im lookin for is front camera flash and back aswell. on Crdroid u cannot toggle it in the camera app, tho the flash works.

What are these security issues people are mentioning? Isn't a ROM a ROM? I don't get it.
Also, if crDroid works fine, you could just try any other camera app. There are several that are quite good. I wish there were videos of crDroid.

I mean with what's going on with Kaspersky being investigated for allowing certain trogens to work undetected and Kaspersky is own by Russians and since when does fm radio need root access.
Just a bit sketchy you know... But it could be just over-thinking it.
