So here's a weird one all!
All of a sudden my pattern lock which has been I'm effect changes back to swipe to unlock without me touching it.
I do have a new Bluetooth device and I thought I might have selected this to unlock my device when near but that doesn't seem to be the case.
Effectively I can come backto my device after a while and my pattern lock is no longer in affect and is I stead replaced with swipe to unlock.
Has anyone ever had this?

Maybe you have some settings turned on - under lock screen/smart lock. Try turning off all the smart lock functions there, maybe it will solve the problem.

nope, it's all turned off and it's just happened again

I know it's painful, but try doing a factory reset and check if it happens then. If it does, I'd send it for repairs to LG.
Thanks for the response, but I really don't think that's a fix. I'm still guessing this is something to do with Smart Lock, but I'm not sure where else to look as I thought this was turned off (and it shows as off) in the settings.
It would be worth noting that I'd already done a factory reset recently.....there is no evidence that this would rectify the issue...I believe it might be app/setting related.
Anyone any ideas?
Right it's definitely not a bluetooth device as I turned bluetooth off and it just did it again!

Does this happen in the same location each time? eg. at home
or has this happened in multiple places?
I'm just thinking it might be that you yourself or google have set a home location and that somehow the smart lock settings are picking that up and unlocking for you.
I've had this phone since launch day and I've never come accross this happening before.
You're rooted? If you have a bit of time and you're rooted, you can do a full titanium backup, reset and check if it's still happening. If it does, it's not app related, just your phone being weird and most probably in need of a reflash : D
If smart lock's disabled, it shouldn't do that, regardless if he had set a home location or not.
One more thing, if you can and you're willing, give us a list of apps you've got installed. I'm no expert, but I'm sure we can find a solution if we brainstorm hard enough.
Thanks for the responses guys.
This has happened in multiple locations for a start. Rather strange I grant you.
I am rooted and I could do a test but either way I'd like to know what had actually caused this...
As for apps... See attached. Nothing brand new though that I recall.

Sorry mate, no idea The only thing that comes to mind is that android wear software, but I assume that's the bluetooth device you mentioned.

Have encountered this twice with my replacement One S (first one had a weird refresh issue that I haven't encountered yet with the replacement). This is all using the stock Sense launcher with pattern locked enabled.
Basically coming out of a screen off situation I unlock via the ring and then get the pattern screen. However, everything is smaller and shifted far to the right so I can't see all of the dots and therefore can't unlock. Only solution is to restart the phone.

Just curious if others have run into this.
Just happened again.
Figured out a workaround to not have to reboot the phone. One of my lock screen shortcuts is the camera. When this happened I went directly to the camera from the lock screen and back to the lock screen and all of the dots appeared this time.

Are you rooted, bootloader unlocked, or running a dif recovery? I have been using the gesture unlock since day one and have had no issues like what you describe. Perhaps a factory reset may help?
None of that. Stock out of the box. I'll monitor it and see if I can determine if it is specific steps that lead to it since it doesn't happen that frequently. Hasn't been happened at all today.

This happened with me too, on my stock phone. It must be a bug that has to do with the camera unlock feature, I just stick to bare pattern and it works for me.
I have the exact same issue with my stock HTC One S. I don't use face unlock just the pattern.
Thanks for the camera thing work around, I was getting tired of rebooting my phone.
Question, when you open the app drawer and start tapping "Menu" on top right rapidly, does the UI start glitching?
It's happen to me as well, I'm using the face unlock now to avoid reboot. I'll try the camera work around.
I occasionally get that as well but turning the screen off and on again or even going in to the emergency dialer and backing out usually fixes it. I've never had to reboot because of it. I use the camera for security with a trace pin backup.

I'm using a rooted stock 4.4.2 Nexus 5 and messed something up. The phone works fine but when I reboot I get the pop-up attached. Despite this everything works fine.
I know it is something I did by either disabling or freezing some built-in app or preventing it from starting at bootup, but how do I find out which "process system" is the one not responding so I know what to undo?

Just unfeeze them all. Then freeze them one by one....wait a bit to know all is well, and freeze another.
Or print screen your frozen apps and let's look?
If that's even the cause.
Isn't there a simpler way by using some logging device that would tell what the problem is? I just don't know how to do that.

Log cats, if you know how to read them. Not that I really do. But maybe something would be obvious.
You probably froze or stopped something from starting that you shouldn't have tho. Just undo your changes to ones you're not sure of.
I don't see a need to stop most system apps from starting tho....you won't gain anything by it. Aside from Google things, or weather apps. Not sure your motive???
Narrowed it down. It's not anything I froze or disabled. After a lot of testing and trials I discovered that the only thing that prevented the pop-up appearing at bootup was if I disabled xprivacy and because the problem is only recent I suspect it is in the latest update. Will check with them.

I have the same problem and I also use xprivacy.
It was some permission I had blocked in some app. I can't tell you which app or which permission because I finally "cleared all xprivacy data" in xprivacy menu and reblocked permissions as I was asked in each app. Sort of like starting from scratch but it was worth it because it solved the problem.
Hope that helps.
If you find which permission it is let me know.
Guys,
Very annoying problem on my Verizon HTC One M8 (1.55.605.2).
Sorry for the noob-like question, but I want to disable the lock screen and I can't seem to disable it. I know, I know ... It sounds ridiculous, but I'm wondering if the last OTA update disabled the feature. I'm not rooted, yet. Part of the process is to disable lock screens and while trying to do so, I can't. Grrrr....
I go to Security, Screen Security section and just below that I'm supposed to see the "No Lock Screen" option. What's up with that?! Any advice and/or workaround would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
I'm on the same update, no root, no S-off (yet). Settngs > Security > Screen Lock > No Lock Screen is there for me, does what it advertises.
You don't see this when you click on screen security?

Yes, I see the options, but the top three are greyed out for whatever reason. I'm ready to reset the damn phone. I have no clue why that changed and it's probably something stupid I did while playing around with the phone. :silly:

Did you setup the phone to synch with an Exchange server? If so, that is likely the cause.

Oh Shiznitz! That was it! I confirmed by resetting the phone and when setting up the access to the corporate email, it greyed out the options. Interesting. Thanks for that little nugget of information.
Hello everyone!
I seem to have a big problem with my phone that I cannot figure out. I'm fairly good with phones and very good with PC, but this problem eludes me.
My Huawei H866C was working just fine yesterday until boom, system freeze. This happened numerous times and most of the time, all I was doing was looking around in the settings etc. My first gut reaction was to factory reset it.
So I did.
When it was done, the phone rebooted like it should, and there I found the "tutorial" screen.
I tap the green android and it proceeds to the next screen which has only one button labeled "Begin"
When I press begin, it immediately throws this error; The application SetupWizardEx (process com.huawei.setupwizardex) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
Well, needless to say, I've many dozens of times with no success.
I recall a similar incident with my sisters motorola droid bionic, in which after a reset the phone wanted some carrier info before it would load the home screen and let you use the phone. With that incident, I was able to bypass it by touching all 4 corners of the touchscreen. I can't find anything like that to bypass this tutorial nonsense.
I know that the phone isn't bricked, because I never rooted it. Furthermore, I can still bring up swype keyboard settings by holding the menu softkey. From there, I can click a web link in swype help and open the browser with no wifi connectivity. I can go through browser settings, and swype settings. When I first turn the phone back on, I can even use the slide-down menu briefly before it takes away my access.
I was really starting to like this phone until now.
Is there any way to bypass this annoying tutorial so I can use the phone? Otherwise, I'm afraid my money was wasted.
I have included some fairly low quality pictures to try and illustrate my problem.
ANY help at all would be greatly appreciated.

Well admins, you may as well delete this thread. It's helped no one, including myself. I'm just going to return the phone and get my money back..

And that's exactly what I did. My best advice? STAY AWAY FROM TRACFONE/NET10/Straight Talk at ALL costs! Sure, they give you cheap unlimited everything, but the phones are pure garbage. :good:

When I turn the phone off and back on it wants my password instead of a fingerprint... is this happening with you guys? The fingerprint only works AFTER the password has been put in if rebooted..
Also I am getting a weird error message saying "all apps associated with this action have been turn off, blocked, or are not installed." I do use package disabler pro, but everything I disabled was the same stuff I disabled on my s6... anyone have an idea of what could be causing this?
Last thing is the message that pops up saying my SD card is inserted, anyway to get rid of that so it doesn't pop up every reboot?

Firstly the password is normal. There's a quip on there about it being safer that way. I also found if you install greenify and allow it administrator access you can't do fingerprints anymore either. They just upped the security. That's all.
Secondly you probably disabled something , as it sounds like you already know. Lastly that's normal. Guessing it's like the s5 popups that seemed to never go away

Meh... kinda sucks...
Any clue what I might have disabled to cause that? Or am I going to have to go through it one by one.. :'(
Nevermind I got it. It ended up being game launcher which I checked by accident. Hopefully root happens soon to disable that SD card thing cause that's annoying.
Agreed. Glad you found it!

Me too!
One more thing, though. Anyone have any idea of how to add the temperature (weather) to the lock screen? My S6 had the time and a little icon showing what the weather was...
