Be careful if you are currently off contract and getting the $25 off contract discount. I was and after downloading go90 they charged my line $40 as if I was on contract. The girl at the Verizon store said that the line would be considered on contract for the duration of the promotion but was nice enough to give me a $75 discount cause why the f*** would you try to low blow your customers verizon???

Just got done placing the order in store (white model). I was worried they wouldn't honor the free upgrade fee that I usually get from the website (they did honor it). I did however find out that my $15 (200MB) data plan was no longer available and I would have to go up to the $20 (300MB) plan. Even then they were pressuring me hard to go with the bigger data plan. Told the guy to look at my current usage on the account...which was 20MB so far. Didn't seem to matter to him. Told me he uses 200MB before making it to work in the morning. This is why I like doing everything online. Still, $212 after tax and everything feels about right for this phone. Used it for the first time in the store and loved it!
The manager told me that as soon as the phone arrives at the store he will give me a call and I can get it that day which should be Friday the 4th at the very latest, but expects it much earlier than that.

I got black. While the white looks sexy (my friend has the international version), I prefer the black.
I was debating whether to wait t see what sammy has to offer on the third, however:
1) my HTC Aria is really starting to show its age
2) while the phone may be announced on the third, they may not even mention when it will be coming to the US; and I'm not about to wait around for six months unsure if it will even come to AT&T.
3) there is no guarantee that the SIII will be available at the steal of a price that the One X will is
4) If by chance that all of these factors fall in favor of the SIII, one can always return the One X, fight the re-stocking fee and pick up the SIII
P.S. I just ordered these two items from Amazon. This phone needs to be protected incredibly well because when I ride my motorcycle, the phone goes in the jacket pocket with all of my other belongings...
Case
Screen Protector
Did anyone order a case and/or a screen protector in advance? I'd like to know what the options are! I personally am a favor of TPU. Keeps the bulk down, yet does the job.

Tried to place an order on the AT&T website twice in the past hour, but when I click to upgrade phone, the website has an error and can't process the request. It was working fine this morning (didn't have time to pre-order, just looked at it)
Im not much in to preordering but I plan on getting this phone, I went to my local store a couple hours ago and they dont have any on display, hell they barely even knew what I was talking about lol which is weird since they did announce it being preordered.

Anyway, they're doing it again tomorrow, and it includes the note 3. And I called some tmobile stores and they knew what I was talking about and they have the note 3s (in limited stock) ready for tomorow. Go ahead hit my like button. I deserve it!

But what if you only keep it for one year?
$29 x 12 months = $348
$199 down + $21 x 12 months = $451
There's no way you can lose by taking the $0 down. You will save money no matter what you intend to do. It is 0% financing after all...

I think you have the option of either buying it out or giving it back. So you'd have to weigh your options based on the residual value and current street value. For example if you kept it for 23 months and then wanted to upgrade, it would probably be worth buying it out for the last $29 rather than giving it back at that point.
And Jump includes insurance, which is $8 itself, so really you're only paying $2/month for the ability to upgrade (JUMP itself).

And that's a normal person. If you want to upgrade every 6 months, you get into crazy territory. 174 dollars as opposed to 332.
I'm curious though. I don't think theres any chance that come February, they're going to keep doing these 0 dollar down plans. That's when all the initial jump users will be able jump. they'd be losing a crapload of money if you'd be able to just make payments on brand new phones with no initial payments and then do the same thing after 6 months... although, that is sort of what at&t and verizon are doing... maybe they should do it... I would so rather not put anything down on brand new phones and just pay higher monthly payments... That would mean paying a standard 25-30 dollars a month and getting a new phone every 6 months just for the hell of it.... awesome..

For normal (yearly upgrades) you arent really saving a ton of money but you are going to be able to just get a new phone without the hassle of selling your phone on craigslist and the scams and robberies that can come with the territory and you don't have to keep the phone in immaculate condition. "As long as it boots up, no water damage and no cracked screen, you can jump." That's what John Legere said.

And if it is broken in some way, that's where the insurance would kick in anyway. I'm not 100% clear on how that works yet, but I'm guessing there would just be some deductible involved before you could then "jump."

They made it a little confusing. It looks great in their ads break you phone and jut JUMP! But really it works just like regular insurance. There's a big deductible if you break it. But what's nice is, you arent really paying more for jump. I was paying 12 dollars for insurance on my note 2 before, now i pay 10 for both.

Just a heads up. You won't be walking out without paying anything. With all the down payment plans the tax on the remaining balance is due. So as an example, if it were still $199 down, the tax on the remaining $500 (8.875% x $500= approx $44) would be added to the down payment [$199/tax+$44=$243]. And that's new york sales tax.
Now that its $0 down the tax of the total amount of the phone will be due (8.875%of 703.99=$62.50). So be prepared to pay $70 tomorrow.

Ok, i really have to go to sleep now... But no. You're misinformed, you alway have to pay the full sales tax on the full retail price, it doesn't matter how much you put down. I've looked into this. Even if you weren't going to do the zero down, you were still going to pay the 60-70 dollars in sales tax.

Correct, just two years, still not bad. The only issue I have is I purchased a Samsung tablet in 2012 and got the 50GB for 2 years then purhcased a new phone in 2013 which came with the 2 years and got SQUAT from DropBox, they should have extended it from 2014 to 2016 but nope. So now when I get a new phone again they likely still won't do it, but I bet they are getting paid by Samsung none the less.

This isn't throttling at all, this is stating that ONLY in cases where the network is being heavily utilized, the people who pay for data will have the benefit.

People read headlines Dennis, not articles... I read that article and I'm fine with it. I pay per Gig if went over my original amount.

Precisely. They've been doing it with 3G for years. It will only be throttled if you fall within the 5th percentile of heavy usage amongst unlimited data users and that ONLY applies to towers where there is heavy activity. This means that (depending on the month) the 5th percentile mean is 5gb and you stay below that, you won't be throttled. I wouldn't get too worried.
On a side note, I had gone to Verizon and picked up a new S5 on their edge plan and on their tiered data plan, after about a week, I decided to return it and get my unlimited data plan back (it took about a week for them to revert). I'm glad I did. I'm 10 days into my billing cycle and I've already used about 6gb of data. *whew*

Wouldn't apply to you since you are on a tiered plan.

I don't even use that much on my home connection every month lol. Makes me happy that I could do it with my unlimited data if I wanted to.
It's very easy to hit ten gigs nowadays. Especially if you use Google maps of town. That's where unlimited data goes good use

I think they have been throttling YouTube. I can't get a video to play with decent speeds. Not even at lower resolutions either. I'm not the only one who has mentioned this in the threads.

I've tried with and without the latest update and still have the issue. Maybe I need to find an older version.

Here's the one i use https://www.dropbox.com/s/uufhy05666hchm3/GoogleMaps.6.14.4.toggleable - Copy.zip it's an older version which i like much better. Just rename the one you have then reboot. Then flash that zip and reboot your phone twice and you'll get the toggles in your app drawer.

Not sure if posted as I haven't seen it, but there is a promo running for the V10. 200GB SDCard, extra battery and wireless charging cradle.

Yes it has been posted several times. Thanks though
Just put mine in. Over 18000 submissions so far. Pretty good sign for the popularity of this device.

Imagine all the people that bought it and don't know about the promo. The rep I bought mine from didn't even know about it so imagine it's pretty common.
My rep at t mobile didn't know either

Just looked on eBay they are selling 200 sd card for $250. Is that right?

It sells for $175 on Amazon normally, so it's not a cheap SD card by any means. Big props to LG on this. I'm sure SanDisk made them a big deal tied with the whole first EPIC certification for the V10.
Both T-Mobile stores I went to on Friday knew about the promo. The first store had a flier handout but no phones in stock. The second store is where I bought the phone. She mentioned the promo when we first started talking and i told her I knew about it.
A few minutes after I left the phone rang and it was the T-Mobile rep calling to apologize because she had forgotten to give me the promo info. (I'm guessing the flier I saw in the first store.)
Funny how inconsistent places can be. It's all about management!

I submitted my entry last Friday with a number of 8590. This morning I check my status and it was still at "submitted". I sent them an email and got a reply in about 30 minutes saying I am approved.
My story was I was checking to make sure the pictures i sent were clear enough for them to see.
So last night, I was getting low on battery so I figured I would take advantage of the phone's quick charge feature and plug it in. Of course, literally right before I plug it in, the power went out for the whole block. No biggie, I thought. I would take advantage of the phone's removable battery feature and put a new battery in. Except that the said battery isn't here yet because my status with the promo is still 'in processing." So no phone the whole night.... Why do I get the feeling that once I get the battery, I won't have any more power outages...

I used this exact same excuse and the rep auto approved it on the spot.
I am also a Jump on demand customer. :good:
In-Processing means it's been approved and waiting to ship. FYI
Thanks for the link! 5836 In-Processing!

It's sad my T-mobile representative didn't know about the promo either, and the promo adds so much value to the phone deal. The carriers should do a better job of training their reps so they can do a better job of helping their customers!
Don't know of anyone is aware, but if you buy at BestBuy they are apparently throwing in a 24" LED TV...seems to be a separate BB promo that doesn't affect the LG promo.
