Does the official Samsung flip cover (pictured above) have issues with NFC?
I've been trying to get my RBC Wallet app to work, but in retail terminals where I generally tap my credit card to pay, they don't seem to be picking up the NFC signal from my phone.
I noticed that compared to the stock battery cover, there are three extra nodes on the battery cover (attached photo). Would this make a difference? What are they used for?
Thanks.

Isn't the NFC stuck on the battery? I tried NFC-ing some file without a cover and it still works. CMIIW though.

I have the offical sview case. Nfc (tap to pay, pairing, etc) only works with the case open and screen on. I personally wish it would atleast work with the case closed and screen on, but for whatever security reason it doesn't.

any reason for not getting the S-View case? the NFC capability is built into the battery but depending on how think the case is your using it might not work.
personally I would take a wireless charging S-VIEW case that comes with NFC compatibility.

Embed an NFC tag in Android Wear

Google didn't support NFC in the first round of Android Wear devices? No problem!

lol nice work. So this adds nfc features to your phone??
Depending on the chip, you can simply stick it on back of the watch and it will work. I did that with my pebble. However, some don't work. I received some nfc stickers and they weren't strong enough.
I read on Google Plus post that someone was able to add NFC on Android Wear, the problem is that there are some interference...
Well, it makes it quick to unlock. (see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zx5v63D-X80 for a video)
The way it is now, it's probably not that secure, other phone unlocking methods (e.g. pattern, pin) are worse when people around you can see what you're typing so easily. In any case I think this type of unlocking method can be made more secure if we really want to.
Ideally, future watches should support NFC communication so we can do a proper cryptographically secure handshake.

It's just a nfc tag he put inside the watch. Nothing else.

[Q] S-View Cover Support for Core 2

In the accessories under the settings in Samsung Galaxy Core 2 it say's :
S-View Cover ( Automatic unlock) : Flip the cover to unlock the screen when secure lock is disabled. (Check or Uncheck)
Does it mean that S - View is supported in this device even if it doesn't have a proximity sensor to get S-View (Google Play)
or it is just a mistake?Because I am planning to buy an s view this month (online).

I don't understand because i think Samsung would not just publish a noticeable mistake. Can someone verify this.

It's a mistake made by samsung but there is workaround to set front camera as motion detection sensor for off/ on screen.

Xperia z transparent back

I saw user of note 5 / s7 can easily scrape off their color on the backglass , turning it into transparent and it look absolutely gorgeous(to me) . so i wantehd to recreate it with my Z . but unfortunately , couldnt get it to seperate as it is(maybe) fused to the glass. So i went cheap and use A tempered glass instead....

You could buy normal black back for XZ from aliexpress/e-bay because the glass is not coloured. It has colored sticker on it's back. Use razor blade to separate it. Wipe it off and you have genuine transparent back for Xperia Z just add new adhesive.
You gained questionable better design by expense of NFC :/

Auto sleep/wake cover

When I ordered my Mi A2 I also ordered a Dux Ducis case. Although it's a nice case, I noticed my phone still received touches when the case was closed. I found out this was because the case isn't putting the phone in sleep mode, which I was used to on my OPO.
I tried getting this behaviour using an app (Tasker and different apps) that uses the proximity and/or light sensors to put the phone to sleep. Unfortunately, when I tried waking the phone afterwards, the fingerprint scanner was disabled and I had to use the unlock code.
So now I'm looking for a different case with auto sleep/wake functionality, but all cases I find all need an app for it. And I'm afraid using the app gets my fingersprint scanner disabled, like the other apps did.
Can anyone recommend a case for my Mi A2 that has auto sleep/wake out of the box?

Don't buy this one. This is designed to work with the smart cover functionality in MIUI. So it'll work witha MIUI ROM on your A2 but if you want it on Andro One you'll need some app

Screen Replacement

Hello,
unfortunately my screen is broken by accident and I need to replace it. I have already ordered a new screen and I guess this new screen will arrived quite soon. Unfortunately I was not able to find any manual or video regarding the screen replacement so I decided to remove the back cover and check by myself how the screen replacement could work.
I have already removed the parts for QI charging and the cover above the main unit (mainboard). But now I need a little bit support.
Do I have to remove the grey adhesive tape on the earpiece and the front camera?
If yes I guess it makes sense to heat it for removal.
In addition I assume I only have to remove the three grey connectors (wide) and the black small connector in top of the battery. In addition I also have to remove the white and black cable.
Anything else I have to consider? Do you know where the proximity sensor is located?
At the buttom board I also have to remove the white and black cable. And as well the connector for the fingerprint sensor. Is the fingerprint glued to the display/frame? In addition I also have to remove the vibration motor. Anything else?
