ATT Samsung Galaxy S Captivate sgh-i897
Hi, I unlocked this phone a couple of years ago using a simple instruction using the admin command prompt. I didnt root it, and didn't have to download anything. Then I changed sims and I need the code again. I lost it. I have spent the last month, off and on, trying to unlock this phone again. I can't seem to root it, I've downloaded every app (root, super user, unlocker) known to xda man and I really just want to find those simple command prompt instructions. I've just spent the last 3 days getting frustrated, again. Help.

Hey guys. First off I wanna say you guys do a helluva job here. This is where I come to research any Android related problem I have and I usually find the answer. So I bought a phone at Walmart called LGL15G LG Sunrise from straight talk. I got it home and tried to do some research on it and couldn't find a thing anywhere about it. I actually had a few questions. Instead of coming home and buying a prepaid plan I didn't do anything to it does that mean its locked or unlocked? Do I need an IMEI unlock or a network unlock? I want it unlocked so I can go through somebody besides straight talk and I can't find a way to check to see if its locked or unlocked right now. Also I decided I was going to root it Over wifi which I was successful at using the newest version of Kingroot, the only one click root that did work the only 1 click root I did work. Since my phone is rooted now is there any way to get around the locker? Is there an app I could get or am I gonna have to pay for the codes? I know you guys are borderline genius is that's why I came here instead of trolling the internet for answers for another 4 hours I hope you guys can help thank you for your time

"Root my phone" she says, "It will be great" she says...That is what my girlfriend asked me but now I have her phone bricked and can't get it running again. Have rooted multiple android devices before but this one has stumped me. Tried to get old 4.4.4 OS on it using Odin and now I cannot get any OS on it. Even the original stock OS I cannot get loaded on, which I would happily take.
Things you should know:
-Samsung Galaxy S5 Verizon edition
-Using Odin v 3.10.06
-Using md5 and .tar SM-G900V
-Phone can go into Recovery/Download Mode
-Odin sees phone and recognizes it, but when trying to load on OS it gives error failed.
Ask me for any other info, I would be happy to get it rooted, not rooted, custom ROM, just anything to get it running again.
Thank you very much.

Hello and thank you for using XDA Assist.
Sorry to hear about your trouble but we cannot provide technical support nor can other members reply to your posts here on XDA Assist. Fortunately there is an XDA area dedicated to the Verizon Samsung Galaxy S5 at http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-galaxy-s5 which would be a good starting place. I suggest you post your question with all relevant details in the friendly Q&A forum there at http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-galaxy-s5/help where the experts familiar with your device will be best able to guide you. Make sure to follow directions intended for the Verizon variant and not a generic S5 since your model's locked bootloader brings a few additional limitations.
Good luck!

Thanks a bunch, will do.
Trying to root my HTC One Max and following the steps to unlock the bootloader and after I download fastboot on my pc and try to run it it keeps giving me the same error. I'm new to this so most of the posts I came across addressing this issue seemed to be written in a foreign language and talked about programs that when I searched for them were ones you have to pay for. If anyone can give me a simple step by step run down it would be greatly appreciated and if needed I can link the guide I was following on how to root the phone.

Hello, and thank you for using XDA Assist!
This tool should work (or at least replace the missing file):
http://www.xda-developers.com/15-se...ng-fast-adb-fastboot-and-driver-installation/
If still having difficulties, please register for an XDA account (so you can post in other forums), and then add a thread to the following forum:
> HTC One Max > One Max Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
(...or reply to this thread an I can have the thread moved there for you.)
Hope this helps, and good luck!
Hello! I posted this on my device-specific forum earlier but got un-helped and so here goes attempt number 2.
I have a Note 3 SM-N900W8 from carrier CLARO PR and it is 5.0/lollipop.
I recently tried rooting it.. and did. However, I guess the file was meant for 4.4 cuz it messed up my phone and i had to do a bunch of random things to bring it back to life.
So my question is, can lollipop for Note 3 be rooted? If so, would you guys mind directing me to a tutorial?
I didn't provide all my device's information because I think the question is pretty straight-forward, but if necessary, I can provide it.
Hello and welcome to XDA Assist.

Hello guys, this is my first post in XDADevelopers
So I have this Intex Cloud M5 II,which I bought 2 years ago and want to root it now because it gets slow and plus I want to install linux in it. I have searched this site(in the top right corner) but I could only find threads about Cloud M6. Before this site I had tried following some other blog posts to install superuser right in my phone. But it didn't help.
So, truth be told I'm quite a noob in the field of rooting android devices, and I can't figure out where to get started from.Anyone who can give me some links to useful threads will be quite welcome.
**BIG NOTE**
I run a linux(Debian) machine,so it could help if there were some rooting apks for my model. Else if I have to go to the command line, that wont be a problem
Au revoir.
