Hi,
I recently rooted my Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus GT-I9105 (JB 4.2.2) with CWM and now i'm planning to install a ROM compatible with my phone which has Android version 4.4 or 5.0.
I stumbled upon the following articles here on XDA:
[ROM][4.4.2][UNOFFICIAL]Cyanogenmod 11 - Pg. 178 | Samsung Galaxy S II Plus | XDA Forums
[ROM][4.4.4][UNOFFICIAL][M12]Cyanogenmod 11.… | Samsung Galaxy S II Plus | XDA Forums
[ROM][UNOFFICIAL] CyanogenMod 12.0 [20150207… | Samsung Galaxy S II Plus | XDA Forums
Can somebody tell me:
How is it's interface? Is it Stock Android interface or some other?
The installation method on the pages mentioned above say "Optionally install the Google Apps Addon". What is this Google Apps Addon?
If I install CM, which version would you prefer? CM11 with Android 4.4.2? CM11 with Android 4.4.4? CM12 with Android 5.0.2?
If I don't get the Stock Android interface, how do I get it on the ROMs provided on the above mentioned links? (if I install one of them)
Can I get back to the Stock ROM through Odin?
Are there any risks?
Please give me any information about this because I am new to rooting.
Once I have enough information, I will install CM and I will reply the results here.
Hey ahmedbatty !
Basically CyanogenMod is built upon the source code of the open source release of Google’s Android,
which is also known as Android Open Source Project or AOSP. CyanogenMod provide users with better or extra features, which are not found in the original or stock versions of Android.
CyanogenMod comes with numerous built-in features which are not found in Google’s version of Android or in stock versions created by various mobile phone manufacturers and carriers.
Specially its clean from unnecessary bloatware you are stuck with in stock versions.
You can Customize everything in CyanogenMod as Per Your Choice......
[ROM][4.4.2][UNOFFICIAL]Cyanogenmod 11 is Based on Android Kitkat 4.4.2(Older Version).
[ROM][4.4.4][UNOFFICIAL]Cyanogenmod 11[M12] is Based on Android KITKAT 4.4.4 (Newer than Kitkat 4.4.2) based on Dalvik Run-time.
[ROM][UNOFFICIAL] CyanogenMod 12.0 is Based On Current Android OS Called Android Lollipop 5.0(based on ART Run-time).
[ROM][UNOFFICIAL] CyanogenMod 12.0 is Stable & best Android Lollipop ROM for Samsung Galaxy S-II Plus GT-I9105/I9105P.

Good News!!! I found and tested a 5.0.2 Lollipop Custom Rom on the SM-S975l Straight Talk Galaxy S4. The Rom is Dirty Unicorns V9 is a highly customable Rom made for T-mobile's Galaxy S4, the SGh-M919. It did nothing to the baseband which is only difference in these phones. Everything I've tested works great, such as The Cellular Network, WiFi, Video, Camera.. It's a lot faster than the current Rom.
Download Dirty Unicorns V9.. 90
Download your choice of Google Apps.
Using TWRP or other recovery
Make backup of EFS or everything.
Do factory reset
Wipe data, system, and EFS files
Then install downloaded zip using TWRP.

Hey, I don't know if you're still watching this thread, but if you are, have you had any issues using this ROM on this phone?
I ask because I'm currently running the Beanstalk Lollipop build on my phone, and everything mostly works, but I get a few force closes, and the Bluetooth doesn't work at all. I'm trying to find a good alternative.

You're probably using the wrong Gapps. You need Open Gapps for ARM(not ARM64) devices and you need the version to match the version of your ROM, 4.4 Gapps/4.4 ROM, 5.0 Gapps/5.0 ROM. Also, your device might not have the system space to fit the Gapps package you're flashing, try a smaller package like micro, mini or pico.

Hello!
There are so many threads on Resurrection Remix that I can't make heads or tails on how to update my ROM. I've gone into settings and went into Configurations > Updates and it tells me that it cannot check for updates. I am currently downloading the latest nightly from the official resurrectionremix.com website. Will this nightly be compatible? I don't want to install the wrong build.
My device is a Samsung Galaxy S4 Canadian i377m running v5.6.6-20160401-jfltetmo.
Can someone help me maneuver through all these threads?
Solution to "Unable to install this rom on my i337m (bell canada)"
I found a way around the problem I was facing. I own a Samsung Galaxy S4 i337m Telus (jfltecan) and had problem updating from v5.6.6 to v5.7.4 because there wasn't an upgrade anywhere. But I located a another one for a different device and flashed a different TWRP, rather than using jfltecan, or jfltemo or jflteatt which none of these would flash...I ended up using jfltexx (https://dl.twrp.me/jfltexx/twrp-3.0.2-0-jfltexx.img.tar.html) instead and it worked. Then I searched for a RR ROM that was compatible with jfltexx with the version v5.7.4 and it worked flawlessly!
Here is the compatible ROM: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4/i9505-develop/rom-resurrection-lollipop-v5-5-5-t3195202
Hope this helps somebody!
Hello dear community,
I've got a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 running the latest version of LineageOS with the pico OpenGapps package and the tablet is randomly rebooting while using it and even when I'm not using it. Furthermore different apps keep crashing. The tablet than says, that the specific app is not working anymore.
I tried some other ROMs and it didn't help. I tried to reflash stock Android and it didn't help either. This problem appears on every ROM, even on the Stock ROM by Samsung.
Is there any solution to my problem?
I'm using this combo (kernel DhollmenM + cm-13.0-20161001 from MARKOX89) and don't get any reboot problem. Latest LineageOS doesn't give any new features and stock kernel doesn't support overclock, that's why I'm not using it.
