Hi guys, Isn't the most efficient way to gain root (besides computer applications and apps) just installing a custom recovery and flashing Chainfires SuperSu zip or am I missing something?

Yes you are
you should have a custom recovery for the device which you are looking to root.
Most of the devices (new release) does not have a custom recovery released before a 5 to 7 months of time.
So waiting for it is a difficult job.
But for older devices you have plenty of cuatom recovery. So this is a good method to root older devices.

Okay thanks

[Q] Huawei G700-u20 - Root/custom rom help needed

Hi guys!
Great forum. Goot my first Android device ever yesterday: Huawei G700-U20. I would like to root it and add a Custom rom (KitKat 4.4).
Got some problems in the first stage tough: installed Framaroot (and my phone is supposed to be supported according to the list), but when opening the app it says: "Your device seems not vulnerable to exploit included in Framaroot"
What am I doing wrong?
It this the only opportunity to root the phone? As you can see - I'm very unexperienced, so please bear with me
we need to wait too much for 4.4.2

Rooting Huawei is not the problem, you can do it very easily with the help of farmaroot app with out any PC.
But the real question is whether we have any good advantage of rooting this mobile if there is no custom ROM or any other type of update available in the market, than what is the best use of rooting and cracking your warranty.

He was asking if there was other options to root the phone other than framaroot, so I just told him one other option
On the other side, yes its true that there are no custom roms for the U20. But that is not the only reason for rooting a phone since there are several apps that do require a rooted device.

yes it will lose warranty but there's always the possibility of the service center not knowing you've rooted and unlocked bootloader if you flash back stock rom.

Hi,
It's better to keep your Kitkat version. It's quicker and more stable than the 5.0
I have 5.0 and I dont like it. Besides I lost many features that we find in the 4.4, like the wallpaper widget from the edge of the screen.
try this vivo v1 root method

Can I flash a 6.0 rom when I'm on 5.1.1

Let me start off by saying I have pretty much screwed my device, I have a telus galaxy s6 SM-G920W8. I can't flash stock firmware therefore can't update officially. I am using a custom rom called xtrestolite. Can I flash a rom that's 6.0 when it comes out? I'm on 5.1.1.

I do not see a reason why not.
Can I do that though? Make a big jump from 5.1.1 to 6.0?

There is no reason you should not be able to.
Yes you can install android 6 marshmallow. But make sure before install that android version, your device will able to access it with minimus requirements of android 6 as per hardware (RAM, Processor & storage space) or otherwise you'll be face many issues.
