Hey guys,
I'm having problems getting Barnacle working on my rooted Samsung Galaxy S5. I've just upgraded from a Galaxy S4. Now I had Barnacle tethering successfully on my rooted GS4 (on Android 4.4.2) with ad hoc mode and the app was granted superuser permissions because a pop up box used to say so after I pressed 'start'. I think it was given superuser permissions by a superuser app I downloaded at the time just before I tried the Barnacle app. Now I have the superuser app on my GS5 but it just says that the binary needs updating. I click 'update binary' and it just fails so I'm a bit stuck on what to do. Every time I press 'Start' on Barnacle, it comes up with 'Could not find wan interface'. Is anyone familiar with how to configure Barnacle on Android Lollipop 5.0?

I rooted my Aria using Unrevoked3 and it seemed to go well. It completed, after a couple failed tries, and everything was installed. So, I installed a couple apps that I wanted (Wireless Tether - Open Garden, Root Uninstall, Droid Wall) and opened them up. I opened Wireless Tether and gave it Superuser permissions and tapped to start...and it says it can't. So, I go to Root Uninstall and choose to get rid of one of the AT&T apps that was preinstalled. I select it and it says that it was granted root access. I tap uninstall and it says it can't do it. What's wrong? Is there some way I can re-root without redoing Unrevoked3? I've already done it twice.
I installed z4root 1.3.0 and performed permanent root. I successfully rooted the Epic in about 1 minute. I have Superuser v2.3.6.1 installed. Reinstalled wireless tethering app and then start it. Then the pop up box appears "Start Tethering" but it returns to the screen "Press to start tethering".I disconnect the battery. Power back up and start Wireless Tether app. Message appears "Is your device rooted" So I perform permanent root again. Then start Wireless tether again, "Press to start tethering" and the message "Start tethering" and then returns to the screen
"Press to start tethering", This was working before a system update was applied and now I can not get it to work. Is my problem with Z4Root 1.3.0? Firmware version is 2.2.1

Try installing the latest version of busybox with the busybox installer attached.
I have Wireless_Tether 2.0.7 is that okay? As for Busybox it can not install because Superuser. I opened Superuser but could not find where I would allow Busybox to be installed. Sorry. Is there another utility that would allow me to root my phone. I know the Sprint update screwed this up as it was working fine before.

You could root your phone using on of the following attached files. I hope they help. I know I uploaded Z4root but it is an updated version so it may work better than the one you used. But still try the Universal root app first. I also added the beta version of wireless tether (2.0.8 beta 1), so you could try it and see if it works.
Try turning off the phone, then boot into recovery, goto advanced then click on "fix permissions" and wait for it to finish. Go back and reboot the phone. Now try running "wireless tether" again. Make sure that if U have "Superuser" installed, U include "Wireless Tether" in the permissions list. If you are indeed ROOTED, then U should'nt have any other problems. I use this program all the time with midNIGHT 5.2 Rom with no problems at all. Good Luck
>>>DO NOT USE v2.0.8 (it won't ruin ur phone but a lot of people have had problems with that version on the Epic. Use 2.0.7 and make sure that U use channel 1 in the settings. Otherwise the phone & computer will randomly disconnect.)

Most of the time that U get a OTA from ur carrier, you will lose root. I think U need to go to the Epic section of XDA. Your answers will be better answered there
Hi,
I have installed dsploit on my motorola xoom which is rooted.when i open dsploit it says this application can run only on rooted devices.

Set superuser permissions to grant by default and try again.
Hi i have a problem and i cannot find an answer at all
i have a verizon s3, with 4.4.2 (rooted with towelroot)
i can NOT get any openvpn clients to work at all. the official app, the installers, etc. etc. even the privateinternetaccess app doesnt work.
i can import my ovpn profile, i can enter login and password, but when i hit connect, nothing happens. in any app.none of the openvpn app logs have any errors.
i tried the tun.ko installer, and then tried every app again with no luck.
i tried the "openvpn installer" and it keeps giving me the error that /system is mounted read only, even though i granted su access. if i mount /system as rw in terminal, it mounts fine.
does anyone else have this problem? has anyone fixed it?
i just got this phone off of ebay with the intentions of installing cyanogen, which i am used to, and am BEYOND angry about this bootloader being locked. im really close to going back to my iphone5

I haven't been on my s3 in a long time but I would assume the reason you cant get your vpns to work is because you are currently on ipv6. change it to ipv4 in the apn and try again.
I recent;y tried reverse tethering on my phone but the Reverse Tethering soft is stuck at 'wait for superuser rights'. I've checked and allowed root access for USB tunnel through Kinguser still it's stuck at 'Wait for Superuser rights'.
How can I get rid of this thing and use PC Internet on my phone?
Hi
AFAIK ,Kinguser is a known malware. I wouldn't trust it. Ditch that app for SuperSU or Superuser.
