Okay. I work for a school district and we have deployed tablets to our students for use. I have one -5113 that boots only to the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 logo and then goes blank. No animated swirl Samsung logo. Trying to boot into recovery doesn't do anything but go to a black screen. The only thing that I can boot into is download mode. First I tried to flash a stock version of the ROM to the device, but it still operates the same. Then I tried to flash custom recoveries to no avail. The flashable version of Clockworkmod I found boots to the hat and gear logo screen, but then freezes there and eventually the tablet restarts. TWRP will install and I can boot into it, but can't do anything because it wants a passcode that has never been set. I have also tried CF-auto root to install a new ROM, but that was unsuccessful too. I was hoping someone could see the error of my ways so I can get this up and running. Thanks in advance.
According to this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2090104
you can try this:
Ok, I was able to fix this. Here is how in case this happens to someone else.
1. Uninstalled Kies
2. Reboot PC
3. Plug in tab and wait for drivers to load
4. Start Odin (I found the DL link in the dev area)
5. download the firmware that you want to load - I had JB
6. extract the md5 file
follow Odin instructions to flash a file, this worked without being in Download Mode.

I have been able to flash through Odin. That works great, but it doesn't change how the device is working.
Suuuuuuuuuper bummed, I was running with not 1 issue, custom rom/kernel/recovery was working perfect.. well for some reason, tab crashed, wouldn't boot back up, went into recovery, tried to clear dalvik cache and tab rebooted, tried again , same thing, well, I went to just restore nandroid and didn't work. I rebooted into download mode tried to Odin stock back, Odin hung. So I opened up kies and I went to reboot download mode for a "fresh start" and when I booted back up, brick.. no recovery, no download mode.. I'm irritated ... :/ down to only old EpicTouch and my S4.. was cool for a bit to have a tab to play with too.. oh well.. I get tab3 later.. :/

So I have a Tab 2 10.1 GT-P5113 that is more or less bricked. It won't allow me to boot in to the recovery in order to reset it. I've tried using Odin v3.07 to load Clockworkmod and the Stock rom that I found here...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2420381
but Odin doesn't like Zip files.
I've tried the Vol - and power buttons and all I get is a black screen. Vol + and the power button get me the ODIN Mode. This was so easy to do on my GP5.0 but it at least had a working bootloader this thing is completely uncooperative. Please help.
Thanks,

Have you tried unzipping the stock ROM, then flashing the md5 through Odin? The md5 needs to be placed in the PDA, make sure repartition IS NOT checked.

So I would try and find the stock ROM from Samsung. The one in development, though it IS stock, isn't what you want to get it back up and running, you want the official Stock from Sammie. I would unbrick that sucker first, then go back and root, flash custom recovery, then ROM.

Perhaps you can find what you need here: http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=GT-P5113
Is there a way to create a Boot SD Card and force the device to boot into a Recovery mode? CWM perhaps?

Follow the instructions from this post. Since you are soft bricked at the moment, you'll need to start at step 4. If you have an extSD in your phone, you might want to pull it until after you're up and running because the "Android" folder from Kitkat needs to be deleted and rebuilt for Lollipop.
That's what I tryed first but it didn't work,
First step.... flash SM-G900P_OA6_FullRestore.
(on boot i have samsung galaxy s5 screen with blue letters at the top saying recovery booting and it loops.)
sense that didn't work i tryed... SM-G900P_NI3-Full_Restore_Unrooted (Compressed Archive)
(on boot i have samsung galaxy s5 screen with blue letters at the top saying recovery booting and it loops.)
then i tryed SM-G900P_OA6_FullRestore. again but still no luck im out of ideas
I cant get to any recovery.

Are you using the wrong terminology? You have to use Odin and a PC to install the .tar. Also, the first boot into Lollipop can take about 20 minutes. You have to be patient. I see you posting in different threads and you seem to be digging deeper into a hole.
Are you using Odin and starting by downloading (to PC) the file in step #4? Then follow the remaining steps "exactly". Re-read those instructions and if you not already downloaded the needed files, do that first.

Try this: Do a battery pull, then put the phone in Download mode, hook up to PC and then open Odin and then Odin custom recovery, either twrp or Philz. Uncheck auto reboot in odin and once it passes, pull the battery, unplug and boot into recovery. Also, you might update Odin, there's a link to Odin 3.10.0 in my post. Let's see if we can get that far and go from there.

Which recovery tar did you Odin? You pulled the battery after Odin said PASS, then unplugged the phone, put battery back in and immediately tried to get into recovery? If so, I'm stumped.

i never had an issue with anything software wize before that.
Have you tried flashing the phone without any sim cards inserted including the sprint card? You are flashing from a powered off state right? You know it wont work unless phone is powered off before going into download mode.
As a last resort attached is the pit file for the 16gb G900P. Unzip and put it into the pit section of odin and flash the stock firmware again. It will repartition the entire phone when it flashes the stock image.

Yes, it continue to bootloop even when I try to open in recovery mode. I succesfully entered recovery mode only one time and was able to full wipe, full cache the phone. This is after the flashing. Have you tried a different version of Odin to perform the flash? I have 3.07 and 3.10 and sometimes one version will work perfectly and the other will show a successful flash but the device will still bootloop. Check which version you have and then download a different one to test with. That may be your issue.
Also, can you enter recovery at all anymore? If you try to enter recovery several times in a row during the bootloop process you may be able to access it after a few attempts. If you can enter recovery, wipe data/factory reset for me. Then attempt to boot. If it loops again, download the official firmware from sammobile.com and flash it with your original version of Odin. If it still loops, then flash it again with the different version of Odin. Lemme know how it goes. I'll do what I can to help.

I used 5.1.1 to before I accepted the MM OTA and I didn't have any p roblem with 5.1.1. I tried to flash different type of 6.0.1 after the problem. Just, problem started with the MM OTA. I will try to flash 5.1.1. So, I guess I need to enter recovery to wipe data/factory reset before flashing 5.1.1 but I can not because it still bootloop. How can I do wipe data/factory reset?
Edit1: And I readed somewhere, they said that it is about the kernel? Is it possible?
Edit2: A few minutes ago, I succeeded to enter recovery mode, I did factory reset and phone still bootloop. It doesn't open. Now, I am downloading the 5.1.1. I will try to flash 5.1.1.
Edit3: I tried a lot of times but it is still same. I flashed the 5.1.1 with different versions of Odin. I successful with flashed it but phone wants to enter in recovery mode after flashing and it bootloops. It is trying to enter recovery mode all time but it doesn't work. Sometimes, on charge, it close to enter the recovery mode. I said in edit2 I succeeded to enter recovery mode, but I didn't say that it was on charge because I discover this now. So, I don't know what I have to do, I am waiting for your suggestions.

Let's see if we can get your Note Edge into safe mode without bootlooping. Use these steps:
Turn on safe mode
Turn the device off.
Press and hold the Power and Volume down key.
Continue to hold the Volume down key until the device finishes restarting.
Safe mode will display in the bottom left corner of the screen.
Release the Volume down key when you see Safe Mode.
I have read a few forums and notes about booting into safe mode can stop the bootloop. Once it's successfully booted into safe mode we can attempt to boot normally. Give it a shot and I'll keep researching. Good luck.

Do you have your friends device with you and a PC to use? Was your friend trying to root the device or install a custom recovery or a custom ROM when this happened?
Or, did your friend accept the OTA for 6.0.1 MM and then ended up in a bootloop after installing the OTA?

Also, you said the flash was unsuccessful using Odin. Was there an error message in Odin at the bottom left corner of the screen? If so, what was the error? I have had several flashes fail using one version of Odin but pass with a different version.
Also, what version of Android was your friends device using before you tried to flash the 6.0.1 firmware? If the device was running 5.1.1, have you tried to flash a 5.1.1 firmware with Odin?

I have used Odin version 1.85 then tried with Odin v3.11.1 , the flash succeeded no errors but the phone stayed as is .. Actually, he doesn't know the android version of his phone before it bricked. Are u suggesting that I should try to flash a 5.1.1?

Search for Odin 3.07 and 3.10. I use both of these versions. When all else fails for me I use 3.07 and it always seems to work for me. Also, I'm betting it was running 5.1.1 because 6.0.1 hasn't been out that long for the Saudi Arabian Note Edge. I would flash the 5.1.1 stock firmware using Odin 3.07 and see if it will allow you to boot normally. Let me know how it goes. Good luck.

Dammit man. Ill keep looking through my Samsung stuff and see what I can find. I sent my cousin an email yesterday who works for Samsung in their Tier 3 Technical Support/Case Management Group and asked her for some help. I'm really curious as to what she has to say on the subject. When it comes to a Samsung Galaxy or Note device she is a PRO. When I run into an issue with any of my Samsung devices that I can't fix, I call or email her. Keep working on it and we will find a solution.
Hey.
So i've got myself in the hands of a galaxy tab 2 10.1 3g version, and wanted to install a custom rom to get rid of all bloatware. I find the rom "slimkat" too be something i wanted to try, but when i try to install a recovery with odin3 (v.309 & v3.12.3) it does not seem to work. Even tho odin says it passed, when i try to get into recovery it's the stock android recovery and it won't allow me to install a rom or the recovery zip file either. Says something is wrong with verification. And when i try to redo the odin again it says it's a custom and not samsung thing at the download screen.
What am i doing wrong? Using a P5100 and android 4.2.2 stock.

uncheck autoreboot in odin options. if recovery install is passed in odin, unplug the tab and boot in to recovery directly from download mode with power + vol.down button
