Am currently using MIUI7 Global Stable. No lag, no battery issue nor overheating issues.
My stock calendar and business tasks can't syn with online google calendar and tasks...(since updated to Miui 7)
Downloaded google calendar - same thing...
[Though I got business tasks to sync once by backing up, uninstalling and reinstalling it (together with back-up data)]
edit: just noticed that there is s stable V7.1.1 available today. Will update tonight over wifi...
edit 2:
Didn't update due to bug concerns and loss of root
But found a way to sync business tasks with google tasks - find the 3 bars at the top left of business tasks, select the gmail account, sign out. 'Enable' gmail account within 'manage list', then sign in again in setting...and click 'allow to access' when prompted by the device

How about the delayed notifications issue that affects other Xiaomi devices (such as the Redmi Note 3)? Does it affect the the Mi4c too?
Thanks.
It can be easily solved by going to:
Settings -> Additional settings -> Battery & performance -> Manage app battery usage -> OFF
This way MIUI won't control apps in background and notifications will show up real time.
It does consume a bit more battery but it worths.
I had the same problem for whatsapp on my Mi4C. The battery restriction change didn't solve it for me. I did all the other changes I could find, eg. Autostart whatsapp, lock whatsapp from recent app removal, still lengthy delay until I start whatsapp again. The last thing I've done was autostart google services framework, then reboot device, seems to be working.

On Mi4c I had a problem with the Mail app and a Gmail account. After 2 weeks of search, I couldn't figure out what was wrong. It was obviously more buggy on Wifi.
I ended by installing Cloud Magic and no problem since that.
I didn't try again to see if it's OK now. I didn't try again.
So we can say the Mi4c is affected, like every Miui device probably.

Yeah, I think I've read that google services is the key.
How do you make the google services framework in autostart? external app?
MIUI comes with a Security app. Go in there and click Permissions and you will see Autostart. Autostart both Google Services Framework and Whatsapp or other messaging apps you use.

Hi ,
Just received my mate 9 from China with GMS Core and Play installed but can't get my google contacts to sync??
Can anyone help asap???
Many thanks!?!

You must download the APK from online sources like this one above and after that, you should have no problem reaching out to your contacts.
Same for the Calendar sync APK file. That should be all that you need.
Have Fun!
Thanks mate! Worked like a charm...
You can also get the Google contacts app there and use it rather than Huawei's contact app.

Thanks.
Just wish there was a decent dual sim dialler as I like to assign sims to contacts as I use my phone for work too.
I saw something on Play store like that, cannot recall app name but it let choose SIM to call from after you click a contact number.

But this is how it works right now.... You press a contact and open o new window asking you which sim to make the call sim 1 or sim 2...
I think that he wants sim association contacts... The only device that work with it is LG G4, LG V10,LG V20 all dual sim...LG is the only device that you can assign contacts to a sim without have to choose every time which sim... But it doesn't has the "Always ask" option...
You can install and try from playstore "true phone diler & contact" that manage both options but some times is getting mess up with stock diler... It will be great if you could freeze or disable stock diler....
When you select a contact in the dialer, it shows the two sims and it tells you also which sim was used last time for this contact. It is not a fixed connection between contact and sim, but for me it is a good approach. I'm not willing to go through all my contacts to connect them to a sim. And probably redo this when moving to another phone.
Thanks Guys. Currently using True Caller. Moto do a great implementation of this...
Try drupe dialer from playstore

Just like to say thanks. Bought the Mate 9 from China Aliexpress with AL00 china model. Having problem syncing all my contacts via the google account. Finally fix the issue with this thread. Thanks again.
I just notice my google contacts are not being synchronized despite having the latest apk installed. I have reinstalled the app giving it full permission and still not able to synch my contacts last synch is dated Feb 11
last update: deleting and re-adding the gmail account fixed the problem
Thanks, I just had same problem with my Mate9 from China; moreover GMS core were not installed and so no Gmail, no Playstore etc. I had to install gms core from Hiapp(in the phone), and after that install all the google apps one by one from the store. Now all run fine! Thanks again
Hi!
I tried this but it keep saying that the App can't open =/
It redirects me to the HiApp version, which is in Google Contacts but with a Chinese Title.
Any ideas anyone?
I got MIX 2s from HK with MIUI Global Stable 9.5.4.0 installed. Few troubles so far, pretty annoying tho. Phone came with ugly MI dialer/contact viewer and I cannot make it sync contacts on the phone with Office365 Outlook contacts. It seems to work from Outlook to the phone, but not the other way around. I tried Gmail, Outlook, Edison and few others. I tried Google contacts app, same story. Installed Google contacts sync app… still the same.
I used to have all previous phones do sync out of the box and it’s very strange that this phone cannot do that.
How it works on Chinese MIUI? Anyone has the same problem? I will flash Chinese ROM over, because it’s not going to work for me, I have over 1200 contacts and I have to manage them daily. I also phone sync contacts with Facebook photos.

The dialer / contact viewer are the same in chinese/global roms....well i don't think they're that ugly.
Did you check permissions for Office365?
I think the problem is not enough permissions.

It seems to be. I tried all MIMIX2s ROMs i could find... Chinese dev/stable, Global 18, Global 5, eu.xiaomi. All pretty much the same: small icons, tiny fonts, very bad notification, unstable brightness control. Not surprise as it all based on MIUI. This is my first Xiaomi device and i would say, i just hate MIUI, period.
Android P Beta ROM was awesome and all contact sync worked fine, it's way faster than MIUI original, but heavier battery drain. Problem is it keeps shutting the phone off here and there and it needs to be powered up. Will try it again with the different launcher next week. in addition to all bugs listed already, i found that latest Instagram app will crash on sign in, older version of app is fine

Yes, I had this problem with syncing google contacts on the China Rom. You need to go into the permissions and allow access to modify contacts for anything to do with Office365. Can post screenshots if that helps.

Thank you
Sorry im now on global ROM which has a slighly different permission system.
On China rom - in Settings -> All Apps find Outlook or anthing related like Office 365 etc.
Click on each app and click on permissions - then find contact sync or similar and turn on the setting.

Quick update.... Fixed. I just got MIUI V9.5.19.0 and sync works fine both ways. I guess it was something Xiaomi new about
As the title goes, I'm having a hard time with this. I already disabled deep optimization and adaptive battery but to no avail.
I need it on my calendar app but it doesn't work. I want to disable the optimization of the calendar app but I can't find it on the list.
I tried using Google Keep and Ike but it will only work ONCE. After that, the notifications on events and reminders will not work anymore at all.
Please help me.
I badly need it because of my work.
Edit: I don't mind using custom rom if its the only solution.

"Maybe" I can help...maybe. Are you using Google Calendar? If so did you know that you can setup Gmail to send you every morning (around 5 AM EST) what you have scheduled on your calendar? It uses my phone number which happens to be from a state in EST even though I live in CST. Oh well, such is life. I imagine it will send it to you at 5 AM your time.
Also, as you probably already know, you can setup push notifications, and or email alerts for scheduled items right from within your calendar.
Now then, as you mentioned, there is no entry for battery optimization in the "battery" settings...just like there isn't for Gmail.
However, if you go to settings>Apps & notifications>See all apps> Calendar - then tap on battery and make sure that "Background restriction" is turned off. Hope this helps. For instructions on how to have Gmail send you your calendar schedule each morning just Google it! Ironic isn't it?

Google calendar. I also tried using Google Keep & Ike, but to no luck.
Google calendar should work fine, with no optimisation or further changes
I am rooted and all my calendar notifications for google calendar and business calendar Pro 2 work fine.
In your case, something is problematic.
How many Rom updates have you performed with no factory resets in between?
Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
I only updated once from 9.0.2 to 9.0.3
I never had factory reset.
I will try resetting it.
