S6 partly does not perform well on WIFI - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello All,
I hope someone here may be able to help me as Google and my ISP are not able to solve my problem.
I own a Galaxy S6 (stock ROM no Root) which performes fine on 4G/LTE.
However on my home WIFI network i have some problems. Here are some symptoms;
1) I am not able to access the google play app (time-out)
2) I am not able to get to my ISP homepage (Error the requested URL cannot be retrieved Connection Lifetime Expired Footprint 4.11/FPMCP)
It appears all other websites and apps function ok on my S6 on WIFI.
Furthermore, my other devices all perform fine so it seems to be my S6 which is the problem?
My ISP checked my modem/router remotely and say all should be fine. I'm inclinded to believe them since other devices work ok.
Any help would be so much appreciated!

HTTP broken after long inactivity; device or provider's fault?

Hello,
I noticed that HTTP seems to get broken if my connection stays up for too long. After beeing connected for about 10-15h my TP won't be able anymore to get weather updates of simply web browsing. Direct push is not affected and still works fine, as well as HTTPS websites.
I just need to disconnect/reconnect the data connection to get everything fully working. I highly suspect my provider (Orange switzerland) to be the real responsive for this annoying behaviour; but before I get in touch with them I would like to be sure it is not the device.
Thank your for your feedback!

[Q] vzw-s3 lost data connection

I got a Note 3 from vzw, rooted it and it works great. I gave my S3 to my wife and she is having problems getting a data connection. She is not logged into google yet (lost password) and I wonder if that's the issue? If not what should I start looking at? It may seem absurd that someone wouldn't simply get a password reset from gmail but she doesn't like to play with it at home where she has wifi anyway and at work the availability is limited by the building she's in. I haven't run into this in discussion and vzw is unanxious to work with rooted devices.

Galaxy S6 Wifi Hotspot cant be found on other devices

Hello everyone,
Longtime Samsung user here and believer in unlocked phones. Recently purchased an unlocked Galaxy S6 to use on Tmobile. I have it setup and working (data, wifi, and calling works flawlessly). However I've encountered an odd issue, I can start the Wifi hotspot, however no other devices can see the SSID being broadcast to connect to the network.
I did several hours of research, even found this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...e-hotspot-active-connect-wi-fi-t3098933/page2 ; which pointed me to a couple of solutions I tried:
Enable/disable Wifi power saving
Make sure only approved devices isn't checked
Manually select a Wifi channel (tried auto and manually selecting channels to no avail).
The phone allows me to activate the tethering, and I do have a Tmobile plan that allows tethering, I just can't find the phones SSID on any other device during the wifi network scan (tried multiple other phones/tablets/computers).
This functionality allows me to work remotely on the road, so I would greatly appreciate any suggestions you all may have. Unfortunately due to the BYOD policies in place at my organization (and the root check in place in our apps) rooting is not a problem.
I am open to a third party tethering solution if one exists for this phone on T-mobile. Haven't been part of that scene in some time, so I'm unsure what apps are reputable, so any recommendations there are appreciated.
Wanted to add that the phone was purchased new from Amazon and has android version 5.1.1

some apps fail to make internet connection via a specific network

The Problem:
"My device" encounters this problem while it's connected to "my home WiFi". Some apps fail to make internet connection, and this problem wasn't there before I upgraded from lollipop to marshmallow (officially). The strange thing is that other devices do not experience the same problem when they're connected to the same WiFi. Also, If I switch to another network, all apps work fine! So it only happens with one device relating to one network.
Things I tried:
I tried resetting the router (HUAWEI EchoLife 626 CPE), factory reset to my phone (Galaxy J5), reconfigure time and date, messing with dns... no luck ...
Other details:
Google Play Store and Google Drive are not connecting. Facebook hardly connects and Gmail doesn't send attachments, Messenger doesn't send photos and links! Youtube works great.
Please, if someone has any idea about that, I cant find help any elsewhere!

Judging by what you've posted, the device works fine on other networks, this suggests to me that the issue is in your network and not your device.
This forum isn't the kind of place to help you with network issues. This forum deals with the devices themselves.
Your problem does not seem to be the device.

But also as I mentioned that other devices do not face this problem when they're connected to the same wifi. That's why I thought it's related to my device.
Also, some network community directed me to here after reading my problem!
I know it's not appropriate to ask for help in PM and I don't do that.

Even though I tried to use some other VPN app before with no positive result. But now with Turbo VPN everything seems to run smoothly, at least for now!
Could anyone please explain what's happening?

Strange Connectivity issue

Well, another strange issue with my brand new MM3.
Global rom there.
I noticed that two (and only two) apps ("Ip cam viewer" and "Vera Mobile") are perfectly working when connected to WiFi but as soon as I switch to LTE, they stop working.
The apps are launching, but says that there is a connectivity issue. Of course, I checked the regarding parameters (i.e. ip public adress, port, password...) on booth apps but as those paramaters perfectly works with another phone, I really don't understand what's this issue.
No problem with youtube, or gmail, or any other app...
Anyone can help ?
Thanks
Am I the only one facing this issue ?
This is probably to do with your Vera app settings. I don't use the Vera Mobile app, I'm still using Home Buddy, but the app communicates through the external MIOS servers unless you're in local mode (on your home wifi). Also, check the IP address of your Vera (you really need to make it static, or reserved on the router), otherwise you'll have difficulties in local mode if the IP address ever changes.
The other thing you can try is logging into MIOS through a browser session and check that it works, if not then you know you have an issue between the MIOS servers and Vera.

Thanks for your reply !
It works while logging through browser.
My vera's ip is fixed.
Furthermore, my ipcameras also have fixed ip adress, and the problem is the same with the "ipcamviewer app".
Every other apps are perfectly 4G working so... WTF ?
As I said, it's nothing to do with 4G or the Mix 3, it's because the MIOS server is unable to reach your Vera through a remote connection. I can't log in to Vera Mobile to take a look because I don't have the login credentials for the account I created when I tried to "upgrade" to a Vera Plus, but to resolve the problem you're probably going to need to talk to MiCasa Verde support. If you want to prove it, try connecting to a wifi network other than your home network and see if you get the same problem as when on 4G.
Maybe I'm not correctly explaining my problem.
First, I've got a Veraplus.
Regarding Vera Mobile app :
- local wifi : no problem
- other wifi network : no problem
- 4G with web brower : no problem
- 4G with VeraMobile app : issue
--> so I think it means that the MIOS server is able to reach my VeraPlus through a remote connection, right ?
Second :
Ipcamviewer app
Local Wifi : no problem
Other Wifi network : no problem
4G : issue
So I really really think that the problem comes from the MM3, especially since I previously owned a Mi Mix and there was no issue at all with both apps Ipcamviewer and VeraMobile...
All my apps were restored from my google account, so is it possible that the problem comes from a "cache" I should delete (restoring apps include ip adress, port, login and password).
If so, how to "clean the cache" ?
You can clear the cache on the apps by long pressing (not sure if this works on MIUI) and clicking info, then clearing storage. Alternatively, find the app list in Settings and do the same thing that way. This isn't going to be a MM3 problem. I have the same issue occasionally with Home Buddy and it's always a MIOS server issue. The connection to the MIOS server is actually the other way round, it's an outbound connection from the VeraPlus to MIOS, so you may also want to check that the Vera unit can get out. I couldn't live with UI7 on the Plus, so it's still sitting in the box and I stayed with the Vera 2.
Ok.
Let's suppose that there were a problem with the MIOS server.
BUT :
That does not explain why there would be a connectivity problem with the IpCamViewer app...
There have been tons of IP cam related problems for months, on all devices. I use YiCams and it works perfect on iOS. But on our MM3 and also Note 8, they don't work right at all. I see the same issues with all the major IP cam services. Xiaomi told me it has been some sort of persistent server problem, but why its taken 2 months so far to fix, I don't know.
My "best" guess is maybe they are all using the same push provider and/or 3rd party framework, and it has **** the bed (they all seemed to upgrade their apps around the same time, too, and they all look suspiciously similar)

Very strange answer from Xiaomi considering the fact that I never had this issues with my previous Mi Mix... Which is still perfectly working in 4G with both IpCam and Vera Mobile apps...
Still unsolved.
Am I really the only one facing this issue ?

What does that tell you?
More than words, this is what happen with wifi (first pic) and with 4G (second pic)
